Went in may, weather was great. Room was clean and had all facilities, staff kept it clean and stocked every day, including bottled water. We had half board and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and with a good selection of dishes including omelettes cooked to order The evening buffet had a great selection of dishes including salads and veg dishes . Everyday was different and all was well cooked , although some dishes were a little over salted. It has its own beach with loungers which are included in price. The beach is a combo of sand , gravel and stones but the sea is reasonably safe There is a large pool with lifeguard and a childs pool All in all great to relax in , no complaints, would certainly return The staff were also very attentive and helpful

Hotel Palladion consists of 79 spacious and ergonomic rooms, all allocating bathroom with continuous supply of hot water, fridge, television, wireless internet access, telephone, hair dryer, air-condition and balcony. The architectural style of our complex combined with the discrete beauty of the settlement will certainly impress you.
We spent one week in Crete, and we stayed at Hotel Palladion. The hotel is very nice, the location is excellent, Rethymno is close by bus ( the bus stop is few steps from the hotel) the beach is also few steps, many shops and tavernas are nerby the hotel, but the neighborhood is not too busy. The hotel staff was helpful, basically Costas, who helped to rent a car and arrange a pretty cheap transfer from the hotel to the airport when we left the island. Close to the hotel you can find Klada travel agency with Nana, who also nice and helpful. We went with this agency to beautiful Elafonissi and the Heraklion-Knossos tour. By car we did a south trip, we visited Kournas Lake, small villages among the hills, and Plakias and Preveli beaches. Hotel Palladion's room are nice and clean, the beds and pillows are comfortable. Excellent location, staff, breakfast for theirs price. We really would like to go back for a longer holiday, stay at Hotel Palladion and discover more the beautiful Crete.

The hotel is more like 3* hotel, but had everyhting we needed for a relaxing Cretan holiday! The staff is very friendly and ready to help if needed, the place is clean, the beds comfortable enough (even with back issues), all-inclusive had a decent variety of different foods, pool is great and there are plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day, the overall athmosphere is really laidback and peaceful which we enjoyed, and the location on a hill means both a quite sweaty walk uphill from the stores, restaurants and beach, but also excellent views! You can see all the way to Rethymno and the sunsets here are breathtaking! We had one of the upper balconies but you can also see the gorgeous view from the bar deck and the restaurant terrace! Taxi to Rethymno was 14e, but there is also a cheap bus option if you walk to the ”main street”. We rented a car through the hotel, is was also pretty cheap and they delivered the car to the hotel and back, there is a free parking area. You can ask the reception for a beach recommendation, they will give you information on the free sunbeds available at a beach close by. Few things to improve would be the gym and its equipment. It seemed to be in the development still, with only two gym machines. Some weights and a couple gym mats would already go long way. Also, the A/C in the rooms is okay, you can sleep etc, but has to be on all the times you are in the room, so it doesn’t cool the room too efficiently. Te bathroom gets quite wet after a shower, somekind of a tool to help the water get to the drains would be useful. But these were just small things, the overall experience was great and relaxing, we had read all these bad reviews beforehand but were very positively surprised, we enjoyed our holiday a lot and would even consider coming back!

Galeana Mare Hotel is a modern apartment hotel in the area of Adelianos Kampos, just 5,5 km east of the town Rethymnon. Built directly on the seafront, it offers all facilities guests need for a relaxed holiday.
Every year that I visit Rethymno, I always stay at Galeana Mare! The rooms are so spacious but also the location of the hotel is excellent! The pool is big and nice but what I like best is the beach ! You can start your day from early in the morning until 20.00 and still enjoy the sun! The personnel is very attentive and the girl at reception Marianna is very friendly and always helpful! Thank you for a great stay ! See you next time!

Villa Oliva offers a range of royal-calibre apartments at an ideal location for secluded relaxation or a more energetic exploration of Rethymno and its environs.
We have just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff are charming, the hotel is clean, breakfast is delicious and the pool is lovely BUT it is in between 2 quite busy roads so it’s relatively noisy. If I could pick it up and put it somewhere away from the main drag and the horrors of endless average bars and restaurants, I would. We didn’t like the music by the pool. Most people have iPhones, etc and listen to their own music so the repetitive bar music is quite irritating. Sadly there is nothing that can be done about the position of the hotel so upon recommendation of the lovely staff and asking them where they personally go, we took our car to the southern side of the province to much quieter and cleaner beaches and with a beautiful drive every day, we were very happy. If you don’t have a car and don’t mind taking the bus or just walking across the road to the beach that is fine but it’s one very long strip with endless hotels....not for us. The best restaurant we discovered - 15 mins walk is called Finikas Taverna, delicious food and lovely staff and just off the main drag so much quieter area but with a good atmosphere. We sadly never managed to get to Zisis - ask the staff, locals go to eat there regularly and again a 15 mins walk. WiFi drops out in the rooms which can be a bit irritating if you have work to do, but not the end of the world - you are on holiday after all! We ate at the main hotel a few times, fine but soulless- friendly staff but just felt like one huge catering exercise which is basically what it is. Don’t bother with half board. It’s very cheap to eat out.

The hotel was transformed to a smart casual Hotel.Just 100m from the sandy beach, overviewing the unique coast of Cretan Sea. Combines the smart quality design along with the plenitude services, the output of this combination, and the exceptional friendly atmosphere guarantee to our guests a very pleasant and memorable experience.
The hotel we were informed was very quiet for the time of year, we normally travel there in September. With the exception of 2020 (due to Covid ), we have used this hotel for 12 years. There are a number of staff from last year and a number of new ones who are all very friendly and helpful. The original staff still at the hotel are George (the legendary barman), Despena (restaurant) and Hercules (night porter) who have become friends over the years and treat us as family. The hotel is all inclusive and provides excellent service, a rich and varied selection at meal times. We will, everything permitting, be returning in September as usual.

The 5-star holiday villas in Rethymnon are built in a verdurous and particularly quiet environment, in an olive grove of 12.000 m², at the village Adele. Carme Villas has 12 individual 2-floor villas, each with a private swimming pool and a panoramic sea view. Here, guests can experience carefree holidays, and feel the calmness created by the superb sea-view and the imperious Psiloritis (Mount Ida), the highest mountain peak of Crete. The property features a lounge-bar, a restaurant, and a tavern-bar where visitors can taste traditional local dishes, delicacies & drinks. The property is surrounded by endless gardens of a great variety of plants & flowers, an aquarium, a small stone-built theatre available for possible events and a playground for our younger visitors. Our hotel is situated 800m from the sea and a 10 min.-drive from the centre of Rethymnon town.
We were disappointed with our stay, given we paid a five star hotel price we were expecting that level of services, but it was nowhere near. With covid excuse cleaning happened once every three days even though we asked for cleaning every two, even after cleaning we found the kitchen with ants. The breakfast was also very limited and we didn’t have coffee in our villa. Overall I would not recommend it for couples, only for families with kids does the price make sense. If you are a couple go get a five star hotel which you will enjoy way more.

KiKi the owner is friendly. There are around 25 pairs of sunbeds (6 euro for parasol and 2 beds). The tables in front of the Blue Sky are perfect to sit, have a drink ( glass white wine & large beer 6 euro) and watch the world go by.
