This is very minimalist
Reviewed By slugmama_11This place is clean but I get the impression the lady does the very minimum for the hotel. There are disposable sheets and pillow cases and no towels. There is no soap. These little touches would make all the difference. At meal times she crams you on to the end of a large group. Ideally a couple would prefer their own table. Breakfast is very basic and more effort required. We stayed at better refuges for the same money. A small effort in the above things would make all the difference.

cozy mountain hotel - good food
Reviewed By marcopolo1964Lanza is a very cozy mountain hotel, full of exposed pine. My room was small, but clean and functional with a wooden balcony with flowers. The bathroom fixtures were modern. There's a game room on the top floor where you can relax, or a restaurant/bar downstairs. I took the combined room-dinner-breakfast ``demi-pension'' option and my meal was delicious, unusually fresh and full of vegetables for France. Breakfast was a nice buffet. The staff were very friendly. Abries is a small village but has a few places to eat and some stores selling mountain gear. However, I would warn that the Queyras is a remote region -- that's its beauty -- and there's not much up these valleys. I was expecting much more choice in terms of places to stay. I had to ask directions to find an ATM machine. I saw just one gas station. As I said, that's the charm of the region but don't expect huge accomodation choices.

Les Balcons du Viso is ideally located in the small village of Abries , in the Regional Natural Park of Queyras and the gateway to the natural reserve of the upper valley of the Guil . It is nicely integrated with its environment through its typical mountain architecture of the High Alps and close to all amenities (restaurant, press, bakery , supermarket, ski rental ... ) . This is the perfect place for holidays all comfort and family. (Caution : 250 € per apartment + cleaning € 50)
Clean, good position, but no staff onsite!
Reviewed By Aivaldi64Really a clean place! Very good position in the center of the village (a really small one anyway) with a balcony for each apartment. Building is a big one, but there are several entrance (8-9) each for something like eight apartments. Apartments are big and comfortable. Well organized kitchen. Beautiful small swimming pool (Indoor) with Jacuzzi and Sauna. Be careful it is ot an hotel, so no staff at the entrance, they only come once per day from 4pm to 7pm, take this into account, we arrived at 3 and no chance to contact them with the emergency phone. (Also some French guest tried with same result). Bring some sop with you if you want to have a proper shower, they will give you stuff to clean the house but not yourself. Overall a good place.
