The location of this cozy B&B is very convenient, just a minute's walk from the Sun Moon Lake bus station/Shuishe Visitor Center, jetty, restaurant and souvenir shop. The lady owner (Mei Jen) was very friendly and informative, she sells discounted boat tickets as well as Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village ticket (up to 29 percent). Room was clean and comfortable, Mos Burger voucher for breakfast was included in the price. Also, do not miss the sunrise tour if you are staying in Mei Jen House, the sunrise is awesome, the morning air was cool and fresh, Sun Moon Lake in the early morning was really serene and beautiful. Thanks to Mei Jen, it was a great experience. If you plan to go to Alishan by Nantou / Yuan Lin bus 6739 that leaves Sun Moon Lake at 8am like us, then reservation is needed as the seat was very limited (small bus) while in high demand, the owner is very helpful, she can make the seat reservation for you.

We offer you a perfect spot to explore the Sun Moon Lake, a place where you can make friends and feel at home. We are just a few minutes walk from the Yidashao Pier (Next to the Sun Moon Lake)
I stayed at this hostel during May 8th to May 9th. The whole experience is amazing! Friendly staffs, useful recommendations, and beautiful decorations make this hostel so unique and comfortable. I would love to recommend everyone who wants to save money and meet people from different countries to stay here. There is one of the best accommodations near Sun Moon Lake!:)

Stayed for only one night. The stay was comfortable and the view from the room was really spectacular. Room was quite basic and standard of cleanliness acceptable. Breakfast was very adequate but not fantastic. One problem encountered was that the reception staff spoke very little English and communication was challenging.

Onelife Don’t stop live it up “Onelife Hostel” is a sport hostel run by a couple who loves outdoor activities and all kinds of sports. After organizing many fun outdoor activities around Taiwan for different sport clubs, the owner came back to his hometown, Yuchi in Nantou, and opened this very own sports hostel to bring the outdoor spirit back to Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake is located in the mountains of Nantou at the geographic centre of Taiwan Island. An international tourist attraction known for its fascinating lake view, surrounded by scenic mountains. Taiwan's largest lake with rich natural resources and culture. Apart from riding ferries and ropeways (cable cars), there are various activities to do in and around Sun Moon Lake, such as do-it-yourself craft workshops, extreme sports, outdoor guided tours… and more! Let’s experience Sun Moon Lake in a unique way.
Onelife hostel has very comfortable beds. Big lockers in the dorm rooms. The shower was good, fast and hot water always available. They have a nice common area with a big table. And the best host Yuyi who will guide you with any questions about what to do around sun moon lake. They also have their own bread for breakfast. I liked the tea bread. Free local tea was one of the best I had in my trip.

(1) Pretty nice location: Very close to Shuishe Visitor Center n Bus Sta, pretty close/walking distance to Shuishe Pier, right next to 7/11, couple of restaurants nearby. (2) Looked a lil unpromising outside, pretty nice and comfortable inside. (3) We booked Economy Double Room for NT$1400 (with bfast) via Booking.com n hotel only accepted pay@Hotel. Upon check-in, they offered us whether to stay with bfast option or without bfast (NT$1300). Bfast was simply sandwich n coffee/tea for two. We chose w/o bfast option n paid slightly cheaper than booking price. Despite so, we're given free upgrade to a NT$1700's room (said with wider space) :) (4) Offered Buy1Get1Free deal for boat round-trip ticket: We paid NT$300 for two round-trip tickets instead of for one ticket. (5) Got Hot-warm-cold water dispenser outside the room (guess it's available at each floor). (6) Allowed me to borrow their phone to call NTBus Sun Moon Lake Sta Service Number to clarify about bus seat reservation. (7) There're umbrellas to borrow for free.

Very nice, relaxing environment, friendly owners and perfect decoration if you like and want to enjoy that style. Surrounded by coffee fields, the only thing I’m missing is a small swimming pool to cool down during the Taiwanese summer, but they seem to be not usual in the island, and even on major hotels, they are not popular.

I am so thankful. I was in many hostels across states and europe and this one is number one! The owner (I guess), didn’t catch his name, was very helpful, talkative and friendly. Best hospitality ever. He helped us in the evening as walk in. He cooked breakfast for us that was very delicious. It was so touchy. Thank you :)
