TA Hostel
Apart from their hostel, they also run a couple of so called cabaňas which are really expensive for what you get. We booked one at the booking site based on their description but at first we were accommodated in a windowsless room (the booking confirmation specifically mentioned "view" in their room decription..) and only when we complained, we were moved to somehow better place with garden window, but still: The bathroom was dirty when we moved in and with toilet flushing malfunction on the top of that. Some of the beds were impossible to sleep at and must have been used for tens of years already.

Tilcara is the best city in the valley to stay, it is located at strategic point from which all of the ravine excursions are possible. There are different means of transport, lodges, restaurants, clubs (folk music) and bars.We are a young hostel with a friendly vibe and we can promise you will have a good time here – it doesn’t matter if you are travelling by yourself, with friends, with your family or with people you have only just met. We succeed creating a relaxed atmosphere ,so that all our visitors feel at home, sharing dinner tables and special moments together. The hostel is the owner`s home . In December 2011 we opened Tilcara Mistica Hostel and we are still changing and improving day after day ,so we can provide the best service. We want to keep on growing and improving ,because the travellers who have stayed in our hostel, have congratulated us, thanked us and recommended us.Therefore we hope you will have a good time here, enjoy the beautiful Tilcara and Humahuaca ,and so you will keep on recommending us.
I went there with two friends. At first we asked for the dorm, which are really really small, but as we saw the shared bathrooms we asked for a triple room with private bath. Turned out that the private bath was not better: the shower was in the middle of the bathroom, without a curtain and without hot water (also, the bathroom had a really bad smell). The room was really small, we could hardly move. The staff did not care for loud guests late at night, in the garden (which is the shared area), and rooms are not well isolated so forget to sleep early. Breakfast was in line with most of the hostels of the same price range, nothing special.

Stayed in this hostel 2nights in May, in the 6 bed dorm downstairs. I can not recommend it as we got bed bugs and it really ruined our following week. Pros: - next to bus station - the girl at reception was welcoming and helpful - big outdoor space - nice kitchen - breakfast is included (tea, coffee, bread, butter and jam) Cons: - BEDBUGS in the 6 bed dorm downstairs - the rooms are dark - mosquitoes in bathrooms Am sure there is a lot better options for the same price in town
