Excellent staff, great vibes and nice people
Reviewed By Chappie1998The vibe of the hostel is very good, from the service to the interaction with other guests, everyone is willing to make friends, help, give tips on tours, etc.. The structure of the place is great, everything is very clean, on the first floor there is a small bar and tables to work (I have nothing to complain about the wifi) and on the roof there is the kitchen and a very nice area where the parties that the hostel organizes are held. I stayed in a private room, where everything was in order, comfortable bed, air conditioning, safe, cable TV, clean bathroom, shower working perfectly. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the hostel was not following the precautions regarding the prevention of COVID-19, many people circulated without masks, kept close contact with other people, the hostel itself was promoting events inside and there was no alcohol gel in several dispensers spread around the hostel, factors that end up putting everyone's health at risk. Despite all this, I will stay more often (when the pandemic situation improves)! :)

A very large and classical house on a 1.000m2 ground, with its windows and terraces offering glimmering views, a charming and spacious area full of trees and an amazing garden, swimming pool, deck, game room and bar. After the beach you can relax, have a drink orthrow a party right there! It is also a space where art events and exhibitions are hosted and you can close ties with the carioca life style. Plastic arts, graffiti, fashion, music, photography and other art events may be enjoyed in the hostel!
Very friendly staff, not the best hostel
Reviewed By ntznThe hostel is very not accessible and you need to climb around 100 stairs to reach it. The kitchen is not well equipped, and it is not easy to cook for yourself in the accommodation. However, the breakfast is great! And the view from the terrace is priceless. I would recommend this hostel for backpackers, but not families nor working people.

Most of the staff do not speak English but they still make things easy for you and are lovely. My room was quiet, cool, clean and very nice. Comfy bed, superb bathroom, lots of clean white towels. Flat screen TV, great aircon, small fridge. Just perfect. the breakfasts are lovely and there is complimentary coffee and cake each afternoon. Cold drinks and beers can be bought throughout the day. the gardens are nice. there is a small pool and veranda area too. I'd love to come back for longer!

Reviewed By Tim AThis place requires to have a scan of your passport. There's no law in Brazil requiring hotels to have passport scan and nowhere in Brazil I traveled they ask for passport scan. Their response: "We ask for passport scan for security" My reply: If NO other hostels or even hotels require this neither should you. In no way will I trust HOSTEL to securely store a copy of identity document that can be stolen. Big companies like yahoo and google invest millions in security and still get hacked. Would you trust a simple hostel to securely hold a copy of your most important identity document? I booked this place some time ahead and nowhere on their website there's a mention of this requirement. The desk girl even suggested to take a photo of my passport with her phone (of course phones never get stolen). I was upset and had to waste a lot of additional time to look for another hotel instead of enjoying vacation. Recommend avoiding this place until they remove this requirement.

Great hostel!
Reviewed By MSS37Lu and Lu were amazing hosts during my stay and they could recommend lots of places to see and where to eat but above all they go out of their way to help you out. Luis was also a scuba instructor so can recommend you places to dive too! Breakfast is large with bread, cheese and ham, freshly baked cake and fruits.

O PIOR “MOTEL” DO RIO DE JANEIRO!

Mobília velha, o quarto FEDE mobília velha. O hotel garante CAFÉ DA MANHÃ! Mas não tem buffet, o café da manhã e entregue DENTRO DO QUARTO, ou seja, uma pessoa ENTRA dentro do seu quarto pra te deixar o café, e sequer batem na porta, ou seja, se estiver de roupas de baixo, a pessoa entrará no seu quarto e te vera desse jeito. O café da manhã e um LIXO! Vem apenas um pão, uma fatia de presunto e uma de queijo, um café preto e um suco, nada mais. Uma desgraça! Nem adoçante mandam, apenas açúcar! (Diabéticos que se cuidem!!!). Enfim, foi a pior experiência com hotel que já tive na vida, o lugar não passa segurança, parece que a qualquer momento o hotel será invadido, pois não tem segurança alguma. Os funcionários são mal educados, não não querer resolver nenhum tipo de problema, não insista! Não possuem restaurante, essa informação e mentirosa, apenas possuem uma cozinha que serve lanche e frango frito, como se alguém que chegasse de madrugada no hotel fosse comer frango frito ou lanche. Uma porcaria! Não possui qualquer tipo de protocolo de segurança!!! Fiz a reserva e sequer documentos me pediram!!! Apenas preenchi um papel com meus dados (que poderiam ser todos falsos), e já foi liberado o quarto pra mim. Sem qualquer tipo de segurança para o hóspede. O hotel possuo 0 infraestrutura, tudo é fedido, e o café da manhã e um lixo! Gente, realmente um LIXOOOOO! Não tem como ser pior! A cama e horripilantemente ruim, parece que você está dormindo em cima de uma lona de piscina. Possui diversos furos de cigarro! Os travesseiros parecem uma bolha de AR, de tão ruins que são, não são macios. A vigilância sanitária deveria fechar essa ESPELUNCA! O que mais você precisa saber pra ter certeza que será a pior estadia da sua vida? Obrigado.

We are located on one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in Rio de Janeiro. Recreio dos Bandeirantes is a quieter neighborhood with greater integration with nature. Here you will find the best peaks for surfing, stand up and trails in preservation parks. We have 100 meters from the hostel at Av. Gilka Machado, where we find all kinds of commerce, restaurants, markets, ATM, pharmacies ... Despite the tranquility of the neighborhood, we can find a variety of bars and restaurants with live music and a pub where the young meet.
Nice hostel, away from center
Reviewed By Thomi CI went in olympic time, it was the only hostel that had place and it was a really nice stay. It's clean, has good staff and the beach is great. The only thing is, if its your first time in rio, its really far away from the center, and the neighborhood doesn't look well, but everyone told us it's safe. Has a nice backyard, and i think is great if you want to go surfing to recreio.

Reviewed By 692piaaNice place just newt to the beach with nice ideas to make the guests enjoy the place. The place is clean and the staff is friendly too. The bar and restaurant is good with nice good and drinks and chill mood and would totally recommend for a stay in buzios.
