I had a wonderful stay at Raizes Eco Hostel where I stayed 2 weeks. Tati and Denny are great people and love what they are doing, just living their dream:) They made me feel very welcomed and were always there for a nice chat or to help out if I needed something. They showed me around and went kitesurfing with me a few times. The atmosphere at the hostel is very nice, they have a few volunteers helping out so that there is always someone around, there is great food and drinks at the bar in the evening and some days there are special evenings with live music.

“Opened in May, 2015, the Lis Hotel is situated in the center of Teresina/PI and in the heart of the medical hub, next to the Karnak palace, airport, shopping malls and the main hospitals and health facilities. A comfortable and low- budget hotel that provides its guests with the best cost-benefit regarding touristic business, health and weekend getaways”. The Lis hotel has 44 rooms ranging from standard and master. Every room has its own air conditioning system, LCD TV, cable TV, mini fridge, work desk and chair, electronic locker, private bathroom with hot water heated by a solar energy system, safe box, phone and hair dryer. Besides, the Lis Hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel; energy generators and self parking (free of charge) for guests (see daily availability). A stay includes breakfast, daily served in a buffet from 6:30 to 9:30 am.
We picked the Lis for its central location (in between the airport and the bus station) and the fact that attractions like the center for handcrafts and the market are within walking distance. Quiet location in the medical district. Clean, modern. Excellent helpful staff. Good and varied breakfast - including all the typical foods of the nordeste from cuzcuz to tapioca to local fruit juices.

The internet didn't work, the breakfast was disorganized, the staff were not friendly, the door didn't close properly in the room, and there was no shampoo! The location is great, but there are plenty of other hotels with a much better cost/benefit ratio.

I do not recommend this hostel. Cleanliness was an issue - dirty bathroom and kitchen. Ants in bedroom. We stayed in the private room and it is not clear from the listing that it is a shared bathroom which is either a walk across the kitchen to outside to reach the bathroom (not ideal at night) or a walk through the hostel. Private room is very small and showing lots of wear and tear. Short bed and very small sheet for 2 people. No glass in the windows at the front of the property (including the private bedroom) which means you just have some small shutters between you and the noisy street outside. We had a terrible nights sleep due to the noise from the busy road that continues all day and night and you can hear us so loudly due to there being no glass in the windows !!??? So confused as to why this wasn’t mentioned in other reviews. No privacy as private room opens out onto kitchen. No outside space. Not much around the hostel - far away from centre of town. Not good value because you can stay in a Pousada with more space and a private bathroom for the same price - so not sure why you would choose to stay here.
