This hotel is an exellent location for businness or holydays, rooms are neat and very well equipped, tv Ac and fridge, swimming pool is fantastic and the breakfast room in the nice garden offer a large amount of exellend food. As Brasilians say: Parabens!

I'm stayed there for a business meeting. This hotel doesn't have website for check-in or do reservations and you must call to book and get prices. Rooms are very old and the air conditioner too. There are free wifi and breakfast that starts at 6am. Around there are located a small subway and others snacks bars. Parking is free as well and the hotel is near the main public hospital of Cuiaba. Staff is friendly, but not so prepared to welcome guests. Fair prices and consistently with offered.

POUSADA ECOVERDE is set in a centenary colonial house decorated with antiques, a homely and charming place to stay with lots of atmosphere, close to the banks, restaurants, shops and museums. Help is at hand in English , German , French and Spanish. There are 5 rooms/4 shared bathrooms with fan and a sink each around a floral courtyard, a small wildlife library with book exchange, Wi-Fi and satelite TV. The hostel/pousada also has washing machine for free use, a veranda with hammocks as well as peaceful back yard with fruits trees visited by several bird species.
We did see Jaguars but over all was not very impressed with the tour unfortunately. On the plus side, the accommodations at Porto Jofre were better than I expected. On the negative side, I didn't have a lot of confidence in the tour, which caused some stress as described below. Joel was not present to pick up at the airport and I am not sure if he was expected us when we arrived at the hostel despite my constant emails letting him know about our arrival. His communication was very poor throughout the whole process as noted in other reviews (side note: you might have better luck via Whatsapp compared to email.) Anyway, things started to go downhill a bit when we arrived at Porte Jofre... they apparently didn't have a enough room for our tour group. Not sure whose fault that was. Half our group had to stay in another Pousada close by that was apparently under construction, they were not happy at all with the quality of the place. My family lucked out and got a room at the main camp. The next morning was the big boat tour that was supposed to leave at 7 am. Things started to get stressful when our boat hadn't showed up by 9 am... started to wonder if we were even going to get a boat that day and several members of our tour group started losing it. About 9:45 am, a nice boat showed up, which saved the day. Another stress was the open truck they used is really old and was having some serious battery issues... basically they had to do a push start if the motor turned off. That had me a bit concerned on our way back if the truck stalled in an unfortunate location, leaving us stranded. To be honest, I have the feeling that something is quite not right about the Ecoverde tours and that they need a change in management. I think they get a lot of business because of being named in Lonely Planet so the need to run a well refined operation is not required.

My son and spouse, their 3+ child, my wife and I stayed for eight days in early January. Overall experience was pretty good. Rooms were clean and well air-conditioned, breakfast was very good. Nobody spoke English, which was mainly true of this part of Brazil, but staff was helpful and tried hard to accommodate our requests. Location is in the middle of town, and within easy walking of shops for most of what you might need. Also next to a park, which was accessible to our child. Great bonus was the pool, which we made much use of, also inviting in nearby family.
