Puebla lives in the shadow of the active Popocatepetl volcano, which provides a spectacular backdrop to one of Mexico’s Pueblos Magicos (magic towns). Characterized by its colorful, Talavera-tiled buildings and hailed as the birthplace of mole poblano, Puebla is Mexico at its best.

Location could not be better. Just few mins away from Zocalo and the cathedral. Room and bathroom very modest but very clean. I wish my entrance had some shutters or curtain as there was a lot of light entering during the evening. The whole place was just a bit too acustic and there was a kid screaming every evening, which was really annoying considering how loud it was. But besides that, I had a great stay and would come back. All the people working there were absolutely lovely.

Balcony was nice but music from the shops below blared until 9 or 10 at night. There were no window or blinds, just thin shutters that did not keep any of the noise or light out. Our room did have a private bathroom but it smelled strongly of raw sewage. I covered the drain but that did not help. It may have something to do with the vinyl flooring used in the shower.

Nice location near points of interest. There are many shops in the area, fruit and veggie market, mercado de sabores with places to eat cheap, bus station eith buses that takes to Cholula. Rooms are spacious but missing some furniture to place the things. Breakfast is fair good.s

Posada Vee Yuu is a super affordable hostel within immediate walking distance of the Zocalo. Breakfast was nice, hostel stayers were from all over the place (South America, Europe, US/Can, etc) so you hear about a cool variety of experiences. Atmosphere is pretty social as some travelers opted to work for stay. It's got an old feel to it which adds to the charm. Uniquely, they have a contact to arrange climbs to nearby La Malinche or Ixta. Highly recommend if you're into that kind of thing and don't know what to do or didn't bring equipment (it's provided). Cons: it's an old building, no AC/heating from what I can tell. Water pressure & temp are unreliable, but hey that's part of the charm! No complaints on cleanliness, because the floors are mostly cold stone so honestly hard to be dirty.

Where the angels sleep ... Discover a cozy corner created to provide peace of mind to each of our guests, with the best service and quality in the service provided, an exclusive space in the center of the City of Puebla.
The rooms are gorgeous, beds are nice. But the place is not properly set up. The room I stayed in for nearly a week has a balcony opening up to the lobby, the night managers tend to be noisy. On my last night here they checked a couple in to the room next to mine around midnight. Past 2am I could here every word they spoke and indeed they had sex till the early hours. So the problem is the walls between my room and the next are paper thin. Until the management learns that hotels are for sleep not for lack of sleep I can not recommend this place. I requested a room change at 1230 am bu the night attended would not move me even though the hotel has 25 rooms and only a few customers. I will complain to manager in the morning as I write this review at 2 am.

This is an interesting accommodation in an old building in the historical district. The location is very good, only one block from the Puebla tour buses and the tram and tour bus to Cholula. You can easily walk to the Zocalo and many other tourist sites in Puebla. The outside of the building has the street number (612) prominently displayed, but no indication that there is a hostal inside. It only indicates that it is a co-working space for artists. The sign simply says "Workośfera." Hostalgia has hostel beds and private rooms, all on the second floor. There is no elevator. I had a private room with a large comfortable king bed, and a kitchenette with a sink and microwave. However, there was nothing else you would normally find in a kitchenette such as a fridge, coffee maker, dishes, cutlery, etc. There was no heater or air conditioner, but I didn't need it. The lighting in the room was good, and there were several outlets to charge your electronics. There was no TV, but there was one in the common area. The WiFi was excellent, one of the best I have had in all of Mexico. The private bathroom had a shower and was well-lit. The shower stream was weak, which was just as well, because the water was ice cold. The water in the bathroom and kitchen worked intermittently, and there were a couple times I couldn't flush the toilet or turn on the shower. I don't know if this was a temporary problem or something that happens frequently. The private rooms are not serviced, but they will empty your trash and give you clean towels on request. The front desk is staffed 24/7, but they lock the building at 6 PM so you must knock to be let in after that. Staff speak a little English, and are very kind and helpful. There is a rooftop terrace, but no seating. I suppose you could take a chair from your room up there, but I didn't. I only paid $10 USD for a private room; hostel beds were even cheaper. If you are on a tight budget and don't mind cold showers, I highly recommend this hostal.
Hostal Casa de Arcos is in the heart of the historic centre of Puebla just 4 blocks from the Zocalo, the Cathedral, portals and beautiful parks and gardens. It is magnificently located near restaurants, bars, museums, churches and historical monuments 10 minutes walk from the most popular neighborhoods.
