Mobay Kotch is a hostel that operates out of the Georgian style building dating back to the 1760's located at 16 Church Street. Originally the home of a wealthy merchant from the 18th century, it has been mentioned in travel guides as a sight to see in Montego Bay. This red brick building over the years has served as a church manse, a synagogue, a hotel, a masonic lodge, and office space to list a few. It is most remembered, however, as the site of the highly rated Town House on Church Street restaurant and because of this it is locally recognized as "The Townhouse". Today, this property is registered as Jamaican National Heritage Building and is the home to the hostel MOBAY KOTCH.
I don't write reviews very often, but I thought it was worth writing something here about how dead on this hostel is. Somethow they've managed to create really nice social vibes here, which counts for a lot. It's also downtown, which is geographically close but a world away from the cruise ship part of town. Finally, this is an amazing old building, loads of wood and detailing, there's genuinely good art on the walls, the place has clearly been recently renovated, and its clean. So stay here!

Backpackers Hostel is located in Kingston, Jamaica. It offers shared rooms at an affordable price. We are centrally located to all that Kingston has to offer.
Had a quick overnight here, good location in a safe, quiet neighbourhood. Across the street from a main bus stop. Cleanish bathrooms & clean beds. Great vibe & atmosphere outside for having a few drinks & visiting/meeting people. Zach was super helpful with public transit directions for me.

Small vibrant hostel with jacuzzi, large communal terrace great for having dance classes. Backpacker dormitory or private apartments options available. Shared kitchen, All rooms fitted with air-conditioning, Wi Fi available throughout the property. Pay laundry facilities.
I am more of a 5 star Hotel type of person lol so this was my 1st trip staying at a hostel and I was initially very reticent about it but wanted to be around people since I was traveling alone. I was so pleasently surprised and I ended up loving it. Syl and his son are both so nice and welcoming they really make people feel at home. The area is uptown near the hills and the hostel feels safe. It's also very clean and nicely furnished with AC and hot water which was a major plus. Syl also offered free tea and coffee which I loved since that's what I drink like all day lol. They also have dancing classes for those who like classes and they go partying at night so that's cool if ur alone and want to party.... Overall loved it, I don't have any negative comment about it. Big up unno self ;-)

Stefano is a charismatic person who is happy to help to make the stay comfortable. I really enjoyed it here and recommend it! The beaches are within walking distance and the walk to the beach is beautiful. Especially the route to Winifred beach.

I would highly recommend staying with Alfio and his family . The accommodation was clean and spacious. We was made to feel extremely welcome. There are three large rooms available, so very private and few people. Very close to the beach and Boston jerk centre. Call Alfio for directions as google maps places the note in the wrong place. We look forward to spending time at Toga again when we are next in town. Alfio is also a trained chef so you will get the food of champions.

My second stay at this place.. I came back because the vibes are good. The location's proximity to Rebel Salute is another reason I stay here. Martel always takes care of his guests, feels almost like being at home.

Bethel Court is a nice friendly youth hostel with a brilliant atmosphere and generous hospitality. We offer the ideal place to meet new, young and exciting people with whom you can explore the Island with.
This Hostel was very good price value. very cleaned. we stayed in a two bedroom with our own bathroom. AC was there and a kitchen with microwave stove and toaste. A lot cleaner than previous hostels in Jamaica. I lost my phone in a taxi and Steve (manager) was so kind to get it back from the driver and managed to send it to me. Location was a bit remote and you will need taxi service to get into town, beaches and the bar area. Overall very good experience.
