Tahiti and Bora Bora are the most well known French Polynesian islands, thanks to their picture-perfect beaches and romantic ambiance. Indeed, these islands are ideal for handholding, with their lush landscapes and mood-setting features like lagoons and grottos. The heart-shaped island of Mo’orea makes a wonderful base for divers and snorkelers eager to explore its surrounding barrier reef system. Feeding the massive, sacred eels of Huahine is a one-in-a-lifetime way to experience an important local ritual.

I stayed here with 2 friends in March 2022. We stayed in the studio, which was spacious and had 3 beds and a kitchen with a sink, toaster, coffee maker, and stove top. The place was pretty clean and we stayed an extra day because it was so beautiful. It is about 45 min-1 hour from Papeete, which is great because there is no traffic or road noise, but it is just around the corner from a grocery store, 5 minutes from some botanical gardens, and close to Tahiti Iti which has waterfalls and the famous Teahupoo. Just steps from the studio is a gorgeous, empty black sand beach, with beautiful corals teeming with fish and rays right off shore. It is also close to a beginners surf spot and a public beach. The owner is very helpful and the space is quiet and lovely.

Lying in the heart of Papeete, lasted walking home is the best choice for a cheap accommodation on a budget, which-made it possible for you to explore the rest of what the beautiful city have to offer. We are proud to provide a different experience from the usual. A local, independent family business, we give each guest a Polynesian experience.
Maui runs a great hostel! I really enjoyed my stay here. It was very convenient in the middle of Papeete. You can go to all the restaurants and bars there. They are all within walking distance. You can walk to the ferry port easily and get to Moorea from there. It’s a great hostel and if you want more budget friendly options like this, please support his business! Thanks for a great stay and I will definitely come back here next time I am in Tahiti!

Mauru'uru roa Faimano !

Teamo Guesthouse is located in the very centre of Papeete, the capital of Tahiti. This cosy colonial styled house (150 years old) was built within a natural and tropical environment. The 3 dormitories and the 5 private rooms provide a friendly, quiet and comfortable atmosphere.Because it is situated in the heart of Papeete, Teamo Guesthouse is an ideal location from where you can organise your trips around Tahiti and the other French Polynesian islands.
I stayed at the Te Amo Hostel only one night. I would recommend it only for one night as it is a very, very basic hostel. There was only a bottom sheet on my bunk bed, a barely adequate shower, no air-conditioning working but a simple electric fan which provided some relief from the heat and humidity. No breakfast was included, but that’s okay because I left very early. It was just adequate as a “one night stand.” Gerard, the owner, was very nice. Although I had a reservation, he didn’t have it, but there was plenty of space to stay at the hostel.

Great spot in quiet area close to Avatoru. Great food at the Snack Shack (name is deceiving as it's high quality food with a good variety of entrees, and the desserts are awesome) as well as a great place to meet some nice locals (I miss Stephen already, thanks for help translating!). Owners Cindy and Jean Louis are very friendly and helpful. Groceries available within a very short walk. Good access through the reef for snorkeling to the far left (look for the opening, sandy bottom). Excellent value if you can handle a more rustic experience and take care of yourself. Will be back next year but will add another week. Thank You Cindy & Jean Louis

I booked the dorm that is set up for 6 people and we ended up being a total of 4 girls. We went to the same dive shop and had a blast. The accomodation is simple but clean and has everything you need. There is an awesome deck over the lagoon which is great for hanging out. JB was the manager and always available to help and attentive to our needs. The only thing I would recommend is to improve the Wifi.

Two double room with private bathroom, dormitory for 6 person with shared bathroom, fully equipped kitchen 100 m from lagoon access and 2 km from the public beach located between cook bay and opunohu bay
I really enjoyed this place and the way it is organized for both backpackers and small families or ppl needing a private space. The kitchen and common spaces are perfect for staying autonomous and enjoying social exchange at the same time. Also the host was super attentive and offered a lot good information to be able to move around the island and meet the nice spots. I’d definitively stay there for a longer period of time.
