I stayed at island vibe for 1 week while learning to surf with their surf camp package. The accomodation and food on offer was excellent and the lessons could not have been better, with Stefano the surf instructor helping me make excellent progress.

The managers and staff were fantastic. They certainly went the extra mile. We had a group of 24 Grade 12 students staying over for two nights, with meals included. Great braai, excellent breakfasts, as we had ordered. The food was superb, and quantities way too much!!!!! They treated us wonderfully. We enjoyed their friendliness. This "home" is far more than a Backpackers and deserves their four-star rating.

An old stone house, renewed and recycled, now exists as FunkyTown, the most unique, fresh and interesting en-suite Lifestyle accommodation in Jeffreys Bay!FunkyTown is an eclectic expression of design, colour and art. Our public areas are colourfully creative with a contemporary bar, TV's in the Penthouse Apartment, the bar area and in our TV Lounge; (keeping up with current market trends there are no TV's in the bedrooms) and WiFi. Our well-appointed kitchens are sleek and modern. We have an abundance of local art throughout the property. Very hip! We had a little stopover and the apartment was just perfect for it! Location was good and the place itself awesome. Unfortunately we had to leave just after one night and continue our trip. Would definitely come again.

Away with the Fairies is a backpacker hostel with one of the best views in the country from our garden. We have all sorts of accommodation ranging from En-suites to Self Catering cottage, doubles, twins, dorms and camping. The hiking trails through Auckland Nature reserve start and finish in our back garden. On the hikes you can see ancient forests and endless waterfalls. Our atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with nature and views what we are all about.
Definitely worth the stay even if it’s just to utilize the “world famous bathtub with a view”. Roos was really cute and cozy with a fire ready and waiting as you arrive. When we arrived we were greeted with the friendliest hostess known to man. Amazing hiking trails start from the venue. Would recommend visiting.

Aloe Again Beach Accommodation has the most desirable address - Pepper Street. This places you only 50m from the world famous Supertubes surf break. Our laid back self-catering house feels like a home away from home. It offers eight basic twin, double and family en-suite rooms that are serviced daily. An open plan kitchen, lounge and entertainment area (featuring a pool table and indoor braai) invite you to kick back and take in the ocean air while you mingle with other guests. The back garden has an awesome fire-pit which serves as the ideal place to meet new people and forge bonds of friendship that will draw you back to our bay time and time again. Do as much, or as little, as you like here. All rooms come standard with linen and towels. There is select DSTV in each room as well as in the communal lounge. A rack for surfboards & wetsuits can be found in the courtyard.
Great value. Close to the surf. My friend and I shared a family room. Perfectly comfortable and clean. We had our own bathroom. Plenty of outdoor space for surfboards and hanging wetsuits. Large, well equipped kitchen and living area upstairs. Right at Supers. Was perfect for a week of surfing.

Buccaneers, set in beautiful indigenous gardens with magnificent views of the Cintsa Bay and lagoon, has been a haven for travelers for the last 17 years. With its great location and wide range of accommodation offering from camping to en-suite rooms and facilities like a swimming pool, free canoes, volleyball court & (of course) the beach right on its doorstep. Buccaneers has been Fair Trade certified and is intricately involved in local community projects.
Buccaneers has a variety of accommodation options on offer. We stayed in the sea view cottages for 2 and it was perfect for us. We needed a halfway stop from KZN to the Garden Route. The meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner were great and good value for money. It takes a lot of hassle out of the equation when passing through. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cottage was neat & clean and had everything we needed for a stop-over. We could take long walks and go for a swim in the ocean or pool. The beach offers pristine views. We contemplated meeting up with our family at this spot as it could be halfway for all. But there was just one issue... on the Saturday night visitors to the bar were very loud and rowdy. Not sure if they were staying guests. We couldn't get much sleep as we had to get up early to travel further. So just make sure you don't book a cottage close to the bar when you need to go to sleep early. But our stay was delightful. And we rested well in this beautiful area. Thank you Buccs Team.

For self-drive, we are located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, in the former Transkei area. Turn onto the Coffee Bay road approximately 20km south of Mthatha, continue 80km down to the coast.
I love it there. Everyone was very friendly and the surf lessons were really good. Even on rainy days where there isn't much to do the staff tries to find some activities to do with the guests. The food was also good & affordable. I liked that they had vegan/vegetarian options.

This kooky and creative new edition to the Island Vibe family offers a unique and unparalleled experience! It’s as though you are present in the 1800s, if the 1800s had all the comforts of the 21st Century. Island Vibe has chosen to nestle its next little bit of paradise on a prominent and historical piece of land, forming a significant part of the famous Route 67, in a house built in c. 1884 and
Perhaps a bit far from the beach in Humewood (3.3 km), but close to the bus station and the center of Port Elizabeth. Moreover, in a quiet residential area next to historic Fort Frederick overlooking the harbour. Spacious hotel with verandas and common rooms where you can work or relax. Good facilities such as the hot showers and WiFi. The kitchens are functional. The hotel is well secured. The place is kept clean. Friendly staff. No WiFi in the rooms, but there is a good signal in the spacious areas close to the reception. Security in the area surrounding the hotel is an issue, especially after dark (as elsewhere in South African cities). Would definitely stay here again!

Amapondo is Ama-azing. Amapondo is nestled on a hill on the verge of a tropical rain forest and only 2 minutes walk from a beautiful beach. Head down to sunbathe or plunge in the clear warm waters of the deep rock pools nearby. The rooms and deluxe private self-catering cottages all have their own unique design and style. The quirkily designed cottages have incredible views, are really comfortable and come at a price that you'll find hard to match. Seaview 3 bedroom cottage is one of the best views on the Wild Coast from its upstairs bubble bath, whilst Crystal House, with its glass frontage, offers classic panoramic ocean views. Whether you want a quiet, relaxing break in your own piece of paradise, a base from which you can explore the natural beauty of the area, an adventure on one of their many tours, close interactions with locals, genuine cultural experiences, yoga lessons, a deep tissue massage, or a thumping all-out party at their buzzy bar, you'll find it at Amapondo.
I love spending my december holidays jumping from one backpackers to the next and Amapondo was incredible! The people, surroundings and experience! Firstly the food is the best food in port st. johns, don’t even bother looking for another place to eat. It is incredibly tasty and the menu changes slightly which is something I personally love. We were staying in a glamping tent for two nights and moved to Seaview cottage for another two nights. Glamping was comfortable with a double bed inside and table and chairs outside. It also has a plugpoint. The Seaview cottage was beautiful but interior could be upgraded in some places. Crockery could also do with an upgrade. I also feel like it could be cleaned a little better ie webs and dust, but nothing major. The owners and other people who stayed there were lovely and so welcoming. I’ll definitely be back for another stay.

We stayed in one of the family rooms which we found very clean and comfortable. The desk staff were helpful and answered all our questions on the activities the area. As it was off season there were only another six people staying there I cannot have any further comments about the other facilities offered.
