I have twice stayed here....recently for a month. Others I met have also returned, valuing the peacefulness without frantic activities or noticeboards yet offering the congeniality of our host and other guests. Its large high ceilinged rooms, kitchen and patio with hammock surround a courtyard open to the sky where birds gather in early morning, despite 'gatto' the black-as-night cat in residence! It is efficiently run. The shower water always hot, the cool fans sturdy, linen crisp and white and wi-fi reliable ! Alex takes visitors walking the slopes of Volcan Fuego and guides other expeditions toward the Michoacan coast. He is a fount of information and also trilingual. Don't miss the chance to stay here!

Hostel in Manzanillo, Mexico located in the thriving center of Santiago close to markets, stores, restaurants and 2 blocks from the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Ocean. The hostel offers private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, family and bunk rooms. The hostel has recently been re-modeled and offers comfortable, clean and good value accommodation.
very welcoming place with a great kitchen to cook in! right across from a reasonable sized square with a great cheesey corn guy there every night. near all the great beaches, views of beautiful sunsets. very helpful staff. would def recommend and return! xxxxxx Ky and Mads!

This beach bar and restaurant is also a hostel. It attracts a younger crowd but is always a fun place to visit. Great burgers and fries. Live music most weekends. Not expensive. A great place to just hang out.

Hostal Tzalahua is a great place for those travelers that wants to spend some good days in Manzanillo. We offer you a full kitchen, wide green areas, nice terrace, full bathroom, hamacas to relax and a great swimming pool to compensate the sunny climate. The Hostel is only 3 minutes by foot from the beach and less than 5 minutes from supermarkets, grocery stores and the beautiful boulevard of M
I guess if you are bus riding this would be a good stop as the Walmart is 200 meters away and most buses seem to go to Walmart. OK pool and short walk to the beach. Unappealing kitchen and no friendly common area indoors. Set up more like a small hotel. Tacos for sale on premises most days from 8am to 1pm and lots of franchise and local food close by. Owner and staff bilingual. Worst part is the Men's club behind starts the music at 11 pm but the hostel felt safe and parking available on street. Two movie theaters about a 10 minute walk south. Stayed for a week which was too long. Good WiFi but no TV. Reasonably priced for a single room with my own bathroom.

The hostel is situated in the heart of one of the most beautiful towns of Mexico. The place offers a great stay, where the guests are surrounded by cultural heritage. One is welcomed by a local family that makes sure that your stay in the hostel is unique.
My experience here was very poor, similar to what the other reviewer wrote. First of all, this is much more of a budget hotel than a hostel - all the rooms are private rooms. Also, the pictures listed here are incorrect - Trip Advisor seems to have pulled the listing for another hotel from Booking.com The room was not very clean and in bad shape. The desk and chair were quite stained, as was the comforter on the bed. The sheets had holes in them. The pillow was extremely uncomfortable. There was no shower curtain, so the bathroom floor got wet each time I took a shower. And the rooms don't keep out noise at all - whenever anyone talked outside the room, it sounded like they were standing in the room next to me. The location is good, but this isn't even a cheap place to stay by hostel standards.
