A fairly average experience
Reviewed By Melanie BAs others have said, getting here is a bit tricky, and I wouldn't say it's ''in the heart'' of anywhere. You have to walk a lot to get to places, and if you don't speak Chinese navigating your way around can be a bit confusing. In terms of the hostel itself, the room was fine, bathrooms were fine, and yes it was quite clean. However, the staff were not friendly or helpful in the slightest, which I believe is an essential part of any good hostel. For that reason I rate it as average and no higher. If you don't mind about staff or location, then just sleeping and showering here is okay :) And it's very cheap which is a plus.

Reviewed By PathsUnwrittenThey few times I did visit, it was for a coffee on the outside terrace overlooking the river. We walked by there last week. The entire place is locked up and torn apart on the inside. Either they are closed for good or doing some heavy-duty remodelling.

Reviewed By lonely752We live in the hotel, to visit Chongqing in Hongya Cave, and a lot of scenic spots are concentrated in the vicinity, lived in Chongqing travel of the hotel, the hotel has a lot of decorate a style, in China enjoy a few days, to stay in the hotel staff gave us travel guides, very warm, it would be a surprise, China travel here to stay for me wonderful memories

重庆约翰之家青年旅舍体验
Reviewed By 榨菜有江仔这次因为受到了朋友的邀请，于是我来到了位于渝中区朝天门旁边的重庆约翰之家青年旅舍，并且在酒店内体验了短短的2天。但是这短短的两天里的体验中，我还是感受到了一些东西，于是在这里分享给大家。首先是酒店的地理位置好，就在长江边上，又是地标建筑，所以很方便的欣赏到两江的景色。再来酒店里也是比较符合年轻人的标准，不管是在装修还是价格上。我还是很满意的。房间里的体验效果也很好。

Worst hostel I've stayed in
Reviewed By Tim LSO SO BAD. THEY NEARLY MADE US MISS OUR TRAIN. We had an awful stay here. The place is kind of dirty, and doesn't seem to have hot water, and, despite it's advertisements, has no bar nor food for sale. ALL the employees are work-exchangers, and the manager keeps trying to forcibly kiss all the women that work under him. The rooms are kind of dark and not especially pleasant, no individual lights for the beds, which might be ok, except that there is hardly any common space--and the little there is is always occupied by the work-exchangers that run the place. Also, many of the rooms get all the noise from the lobby piped straight into them--and the workers were partying till 6am one of the nights. All that might be forgiven for it's cheapness, but, the two worst parts: When I got sick and asked for an extra blanket, they flat out said NO. One person, one blanket, sorry. This was pretty annoying. Then, on the final night, I asked to check out early, and they said no, we'll have someone up all night. So, 5 am, get up to check out...no one there. The door out is locked and they still have our 100 yuan deposit. I have to bang on doors through the hostel shouting for 1/2 an hour before someone wakes up, gets someone else...all of which put us really close to missing our train. And, if you've travelled in China during Spring Festival, you know you can't just buy another ticket that day. I would've missed work the next day...I've never stayed anyplace worse. And I speak Chinese fluently and have stayed in hotels for illegal migrants, so it's not like I'm new here.

Very simple hostel
Reviewed By cefanVery average hotel. I was staying only one night. Small single room, simple equipment, overall room was acting scruffy and old, fallen off plaster etc. Carpet in the room is not very clean, for the weaker temper probably unacceptable. Bathroom small without any cleaning needs, only a towel. Hotel is quiet but not too nice area. But it is close to the city centre. However, the staff very friendly with good English. Hostel is not for exacting customer and acceptable only for short stay.

Reviewed By 一首小情歌来到这家客栈，其实睡眠质量和什么舒适度之类都变得不重要了，古色古香的气氛是吸引人的，环境真的美爆了，可惜我们去的时候价位合适的房间，但实在是很喜欢小店，就伤钱谈感情了，很不错，前台的小哥也很热情，给我们很多路线建议，英语也很不错哦~~有机会一定去续缘，哈哈

不错的住宿，离洋人街很近。
Reviewed By xianzhangcn基本上离洋人街步行差不多五分钟吧。房间很温馨和干净。推荐那个观景房，有一个吊篮，感觉很不错。到了附近可以直接打电话，老板可以出来迎接。非常热情。
