The southwestern castle city of Cesky Krumlov is one of the Czech Republic’s finest medieval sites. Its Old Town is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, a maze of twisting alleys built around the extensive Cesky Krumlov castle. Saunter through crooked, cobblestone streets on foot and soak up the atmosphere of this impeccably preserved medieval gem. The gushing Vltava, popular with rafting enthusiasts, darts through the town.

We had a lovely stay in hostel skippy. We only stayed for one night but would happily stay here again for much longer. It would be the perfect place for a little arts or writing/ reading retreat, in a quiet and charming room next to the river. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, clearly enjoying their lives and wishing for everyone that stays with them to do the same. Thanks ever so much for having us, I’m sure you’ll see us again.

The boutique-Hotel Mini Hotel Abraka is situated in the historical centre of Český Krumlov, a picturesque South Bohemia town listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Český Krumlov, one of the most popular Czech town among tourists, offers its visitors both historical sightseeings and also many cultural activitie. Mini Hotel Abraka is located just 100 m far from the square of Český Krumlov and all important sightseeings can be reached by foot. The hotel´s building, built in Gothic style in the 14th century, later expanded in the Renaissance style, used to be one of the largest burgher house in the town. According to historical sources a family of famous copper-smith Jiří Schwarzenberger used to live in this building in the 16th century, later the building was inhabitted by many small tradesmen who worked for the Krumlov court. Despite its interior restoration and modernisation works the hotel has kept its historical spirit.

My friend and I stayed for one night over the winter break and it was perfect. The staff is really friendly and helpful, the house is super cozy and the rooms, bathrooms and kitchen are really clean and well equipped. However, the stairs to the various floors are tiny, so keep that in mind if you have big luggage. Finally, it has a perfect location, near the city centre and great restaurants (like Restavracija Marie).

We stayed at the Hostel Havana for few days this summer and we were very pleased with our experience there. The hostel is located just 7-10 min walking to the city centre, which is great to stay away from all the touristic masses (believe me there is A LOT of people) and get a feel of the tranquillity of the city. It has a supermarket few minutes away, and it is also located by the river so don't miss out looking at all the people who are falling into the water from their canoes! To begin with, we loved how the experience started with a little treasure hunt to find our key (since we arrived quite late and reception was already closed) and a delicious cold beverage (perfect to beat the warm Czech weather). We stayed in a twin room which was very clean and comfortable. The shared toilet facilities were constantly looked after and the kitchen offered free coffee, tea making facilities as well as few other breakfast essentials. The hostel provides few outside areas to hangout even at late hours which is perfect when you are a group of people that would like to spend time together without bothering the fellow room mates. Also the hostel offers a wide range of activities that you can book directly at the reception to help you enjoying Cesky Krumlov to the fullest! We would definitely stay there again and thank you to Vlatka and Martin for being such great hosts.

On exploring the town which was lonely on a cold October day, we came across this restaurant and went in for a meal. We were asked to wait to be seated, and were given a table which was to be shared with a couple, we didnt mind. The meal we had was local and very tasty as well as very good beer.
