Fantastic stay at Hotel des Horlogers. Room are spacious and extremely well designed. Exceptionally clean. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. Plus there was a pillow menu if you weren’t satisfied. Each staff member provided exceptionally professional service with a personal touch, very helpful and friendly. The view is gorgeous and the food here is amazing. There are many activities to do for those who love nature, and many manufactures and museums to visit for watch lovers ( like Manufacture "Home of Watchmaking " Jaeger-LeCoultre or Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet. Didn’t want to leave. We will be back. Highly recommend.

The city of Lausanne stands on a hill and has steep, narrow streets, so strong muscles are required, particularly for the uphill climb to the cathedral, the most important Gothic monument in Switzerland. Window-shop in the bric-a-brac and antique shops or take a breather in one of the numerous bistros and bars, or along the lovely promenade of the former fishing village of Ouchy, in the Musee de la Photographie, which is worth a visit, or at the Swiss Cinematheque (with its picture archive of famous Europeans) or Olympic Museum (the only one in the world).
Many things went weird during our stay. Let’s start from the check-in. As soon as we arrived we were requested to pay our booking. We had the exact booking.com reservation rate money with us but only in Euro cash which was not accepted by the hotel. Therefore the receptionist made up an “equivalence” price in Switzerland money which in fact was higher than what we were supposed to pay. But ok. Secondly, we though we were going to sleep in a women-only bedroom. Nevertheless we ended up in a multiple bedroom with a 40ish man... creepy!! Can you imagine two 18ys girls sleeping next to a 40ish chubby stranger? We tried to think pink and ignore these inconveniences. In conclusion... Last weird episode, the day later I went to the reception for asking an info and the receptionist had no clue I was even staying in their hotel?! My name was not even registered to my room. And when I told them my room number, they replied “oh you are in room with (male name)?” Who? Oh yes! The creepy 40ish man! So not only they had no idea I was staying in the hotel, but also revealed to me the identity of another guest... like, privacy? Who cares? The bedroom was clean and breakfast good tho.

Being up to date is (virtually) everything in Montreux, the most chic spot, full of tradition, on Lake Geneva. And the youth hostel is up to date. You just have to be here! The dining room jazzy, the seating corner classic, the foyer rustic, the day room busy. French esprit combined with sophisticated flair, makes many hearts beat faster in Montreux. Just like the leisure possibilities on the "Waadtlander Riviera" - oh-la-la!
We have booked a two bedroom with shower (cf. attachment). Instead, we were placed in a tiny room with 4 bunkbeds. When asking the reception to be relocated to a 2 bedroom as booked, staff told us laughing that such rooms to not exist and we should be just happy that we are allowed to stay as 2 persons in a 4 bedroom. I leave it to your judgement whether this is business behavior is acceptable.

The imposing building that houses the youth hostel accommodates cyclists, hikers, history buffs, families and horse-riders alike. The town centre is within easy walking distance, and the beautiful landscape surrounding the hostel promises pure relaxation. While the children will be in seventh heaven playing in the large garden, adults can enjoy a fine glass of wine on the terrace.
This Youth hostel is a bit pricey, CHF 180 for a room with 2 bunk beds (and a sink). But the best place to go if you are planning to go to Rock Oz' Arènes festival! Only a short walk away. Why else to come here, I have no idea. The hostel looks recently renovated, everything was very clean, good showers, good mattresses and pillows! Bring your own towels. Breakfast was rather simple, we went there because it was included, but you don't miss much if you need your sleep instead. (early breakfast times only).

Ideally located for all outside activities such as skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, etc. A charming authentic mountain chalet that dates back to 1850, it has kept its old charm while having been updated to today's comfort. We stayed here two nights for a ski trip. The owner, Rita, is very friendly and helpful, and when we arrived late on the first night she made us a cup of tea and we sat with her and had a great chat :) She also gave us lots of good cafe and restaurant recommendations for the area. The room was very comfortable and clean, with plenty of storage space for clothes and a washbasin. Towels are provided. The shared bathroom we used was also very clean and well-maintained. The chalet has a good-sized storage room for ski equipment, and is directly opposite the bus stop where both the free ski bus and the normal bus service into the town stop. Rita was also happy to let us leave our bags in the storage room while we went skiing on our last day. A few steps away there is a nice bakery for coffee and pastries, and a small grocery store. We had a lovely stay here, and would definitely come back.

Nyon Hostel is located in Nyon, 22 km from Geneva and 34 km from Lausanne. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property.
It's a very clean, well organised hostel with good facilities and is a good location for school groups or families looking to keep their budget down. The hostel itself isn't brilliantly located if you want to use it as a base as it's a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and there's not much in Nyon of interest anyway. We only stayed as there was nothing affordable in Geneva. The hostel is perfectly clean, our room was huge and comfortable and the shower was nice. We had a balcony. Breakfast in the morning was ok, bread with jams and honey, tea/coffee and juices, cereal. Apples, but no meats, cheese or eggs. The major downsides were the traffic noise outside our window and the fact the rooms are really expensive for what they are.
