I stood at the Chalé Mineiro for 3 nights. The staff were very nice, spoke english fluently and spent most of their day cleaning the rooms. There I met some awesome people and had a great time chilling by the pool. The breakfast was good for a hostel, and they were rather flexible with the hours. The room was clean and tidy, had lockers and a key. You can come and go as you please, there was wifi readily available, but if you need to use the computer you have to pay 3 reais per hour. If you are a member of Youth Hostelling (or something like that) you got to pay 32 reais instead of 38.

Hostel localized in a privileged area of PAMPULHA (Belo Horizonte), very close to the main turistic points: Igrejinha, Mineirao, Mineirinho. It is very close also to the UFMG (UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE MINAS GERAIS) and perfect for those who will be in events there. We have and calm and quite place for you to relax and feel at your own home!
Stayed here during the World Cup. I am a journalist, so it was great having the Mineirao walking distance from where I was staying. The location is great, very safe. You have the Pampulha lagoon right in front of the hostal, so its a great morning view. In the other side of the lagoon, you have good restaurants. Its a bit far from the city center, but I think the safe and beatiful location is worth the taxi ride to the center. Staff is great, always helpful, and talk a variety of languages. You have a sushi and bar restaurant just a few steps down the hostal, and Gui and Celle are wonderful hosts there. Overall, my time at Fino da Bola Hostal was one of the best during the 38 days I was moving around in Brasil.

Located at one of the most traditional and coziest neighborhoods of Belo Horizonte, where the atmosphere still like the small towns of Minas Gerais countryside, Trem Azul Hostel offers a unique experience, with an informative, well-planed and modern ambience and local influences! The Trem Azul Hostel, previously known Hostel 300, was created in July 2013 after the owner Leo Lobato’s experiences with hostels during his travels around the world, Brazil and the Southeast of Asia. The hostel was created to serve the needs of the guests - whether they are avid travelers or focused workers and students! We accommodate up to 36 people in comfortable and well-ventilated bedrooms, with individual lights, power outlets, fan and linen.
I have stayed at Trem Azul numerous times over the last several years, and it is undoubtedly one of the best Hostels – type Hotels in Belo Horizonte with both standard rooms and full ensuites accommodations! I have had “stays” of both a few day accommodations and lived there for several months. It is great either way! Located in the historic Santa Teresa neighborhood it is conveniently located to “anywhere” within Belo Horizonte and has everything locally for either day or night life! A classic traditional neighborhood with a rich history of food, music, street side bars and restaurants, shopping and convenient busing and/or uber availability. The facility itself is very nice with all the necessities and conveniences. It is very well maintained, decorated, operational and staffed with all the hospitality Mineiro’s are known for and more. The owner, Leonardo, is most helpful, lives on site, and is extremely fluent in English, and I expect Spanish too – while being a native Portuguese speaker. Highly recommended, and even a great place to just take a break and get away for a weekend. In the heart of Santa Teresa, doesn’t get any better than this! Aproveitar!!

Wally`s House is the perfect match for what you are looking for. We have a privileged location, we are located in the Barrio Santo Agostinho, South zone of the Mining Capital. We offer the best price of the capital and qualified and receptive employees. Besides comfort, cleanliness and fun. We have shared and individual rooms. Wally`s House Hostel consists of 1 room for 10 people, 2 rooms for 8 people, 1 room for 4 people, 3 room for 2 people or 1 people.
Liked everything, recommend it. It was everything really easy, check-in, check out. The facilities were nice, the price is cheap and the location is really good. The bed was comfortable, with lockers to the luggage. Nothing to complain about.

Staff were great. Breakfast sound. Parking was secure - but I only had enough room for my fiesta with maybe an inch or so either side to get through the gate - alley for parking is not much wider - egress from the car was a performance. Niggles. Male shower smells of serious damp - I could not see the cause. On the plus side - solar powered so really hot water. No power to the bed to recharge. Loads of points all together behind the sideboard. One blanket - I borrowed one off an empty bunk - I am sure another would have been found if I had asked.

What can I say about this hotel that has not already being said. It is possibly the cheapest full hotel, not a hostel, in this city. The rooms are large, larger than most other hotels I have visited here, they are noisy because of the constant day and night traffic, so are the other hotel rooms I have visited, they do not provide you with soap or shampoo, and the towels are as bare as a worn out dish cloth. Other than that, I LOVE THIS PLACE !!! So why did I give it an average rating? Because I am being fair and not subjective. The reason for me liking this place so much is because it is literarily in the "middle of everything". All the traffic in this city passes by here, all the political campaigning and politicking happens right across the street at the Plaza Raul Soares. All the roads in the Center of this city converge right here, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, bakeries, wholesale and retail places for ALL kinds of stuff you may not have ever even heard of, Laundromats and dry cleaners, homeless people encampments, even a Military Police station right on the back street of this hotel, and all of it happens within walking distance. The "Morning Coffee" or breakfast, as is called here, leaves a little to be desired in variety and quality, but it's plentiful and you can eat until you're full. The people here are friendly and wonderful, the Internet is reliable and fast, and did I mention it has NO air conditioning? Well, it's winter here so a ceiling fan is good enough, but I would certainly not want to be here in the Brazilian Summertime. Here you pay every three days for your room and you get a 10% discount for extended stays. I attempted to pay for my stay when I checked in but was told to wait until the third day was up, and then pay. Well, it so happens on that very same day I received a call from my bank back home telling me that my credit card had been "compromised" and it needed to be cancelled immediately. I explained I was in Brazil and in need of funds to eat, sleep, etc., but the bank assured me they would Fed-Ex me a card right away. Of course as luck would have it, this was a Thursday and the card would not arrive until Monday at the earliest. I went to the front desk to explain my situation fully expecting skepticism and non-compliance, but much to my surprise they said "No Problem" we will wait until your credit card arrives. That is also one of the reasons I love this place. They have been extremely nice to me, but I recognize that is still lacking in many of the basic necessities and amenities an excellent hotel must have in order to be rated higher, so I rate it Average, reluctantly but honestly..
