The Terrace up in the 3rd floor gives you the chance to sleep at a very low price in bamboo-beds in the heart of Cuenca. There are also private doublerooms for couples and 6 or 4-bed dorms for groups. In the courtyard at the back of the building is a beautiful garden, including a 'Reggae-Bar' with drinks. But no worries, we respect your sleep and we're gonna turn off the music early enough. In the front part of the building, there is the bar/restaurant with free breakfast. Drinks and food are served in the afternoon until midnight (except Sundays). Please note:The Reception is open 24h (check in anytime)
Hostal Yakumama is clean, updated, well decorated, a quiet place with an inner patio. They have a very good restaurant with a wide variety of choice, including vegetarian options. Good Happy Hour. Bedroom was on main floor and had its own bathroom. Location is easy walking distance to the old city center, with old Spanish White buildings with red roofs, a pre-Columbrian art museum. I visited a great animal rescue center, Amaru Zoologico Bioparque, where they had a many of Ecuador's most famous animals. The staff at the Hostal were most helpful, loaning me a map of El Cajas National Park, where I wanted to hike, and even finding me a couple of other travelers to share the taxi ride.

Staff super friendly. Only one spoke English and he went the extra mile for us consistently. Helped us with the little things and always with a huge smile. We had an amazing experience there. Breakfast was decent, and the location was spectacular!!

Located in the Historic Center of Cuenca, Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 1999. Such privilege allows to have a few meters to countless places to visit such as: The New Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Calderon Park, Panama Hat Museum , The Old Cathedral, Handicrafts, republican architecture, entertainment spaces, among others. Hostal Latina allows its visitors to witness the history of our city, since its infrastructure shows the architectural style of the era in which it was built (1912). Its simple but warm environments make those who visit us enjoy their stay. We have satellite TV, WiFi in all rooms and common areas, daily cleaning of rooms. We also offer breakfasts and tours to the most attractive places of the area. Payment can be cash or with credit card (in this case is RATE+SURCHARGES). Aware that all travelers are interested in their safety, it is important to note that the area where we are located is safe 24 hours, both inside and outside the establishment.
While aesthetically run-down, I thought the facilities were adequate in that the Wi-Fi worked well, the water was hot, and the bed was comfortable. It is also in a nice location a few blocks from the central park. The hotel didn't show up on Google Maps so it was pretty difficult to find at first. I would definitely stay here again for a similar deal which I paid around $10 USD a night. I wouldn't pay the regular $25 a night to stay here as I could probably find a more modern hotel for a similar price. A great colonial city, the Bella Visa hostel is located in the north end of the city which is perfect for a good night sleep, and a short walk down the hill into town. It is located between two parks that are great for kids and give you a great sunset view of the city. The owners are friendly and engaging, and did their most to make sure everyone was happy and felt at home. Early check in, late check out no problems and Netfix in the room. When I go back, I will stay at Bella Visa again without a second thought.

This was my second trip to Cuenca and this time I was determined to find a room with a view of the Tomebamba River and close to the historic center. I found a lot of options that met this criteria but was impressed with how committed Casa del Barranco appeared to be in regards to COVID protocols and kept their guest's safety as a top priority. I got this and so much more. From the moment Diego picked us up from the airport, I knew we had made the right choice. He was waiting for us with a hand written sign the second we grabbed our bags. The first thing Diego said to us when we got in the car is that he becomes friends with all his guests by the end of their stay. I've heard this before but Diego is very serious about this. He goes out of his way to make sure your stay in Cuenca is the best it possibly can be. I feel like I've made a friend for life with the bonus that our stay at the hotel was incredible. Rather than write out pages about how great Diego and his family are (they are!), I'll write out some of the highlights: - The view of the river from our room was absolutely perfect. Our room (109) looked directly down to the river with an incredible view up with Mirador de Turi. - The bed was very comfortable and the roaring sound of the Tomebamba put me to sleep very quickly each night. - The breakfast every morning was the best we had in Ecuador. The coffee was hot and fresh, there was fresh-squeezed juice, and the eggs... I don't know their secret but I've never had cooked this perfectly. And sitting out on the terrace with another million-dollar view made the breakfast even more special. -The family. I can't say enough about the family. Diego, Daniel, and their mother (sorry I didn't catch her name) were all so kind and welcoming. They made great suggestions of things to do around the city and made sure our visit was special. The care a great deal about Cuenca and a great deal about their guests. They're constantly improving the property and this will be my go-to hotel any time I go to Cuenca. I hope it's your choice too!

We are located in the Historical Center of the city, near to many restaurants, clubs, bars, museums, and churches, just ten minutes from airport and buses station. Come and visit us and we will make your stay comfortable and fun.
This place was disgusting! Filthy, unsanitary, may cause need for additional vaccinations. This hostel needs to be quarantined! Ick! The walls were paper thin, allowing you to hear EVERYTHING from adjoining rooms and bathroom. Wifi was crap. Pillows were basically smelly pancakes that hasn’t been washed in a long time. They lock you in, and we had to yell and search for someone to unlock the door to let us out. Friend injured hand on exterior gates, which were disgusting. They wouldn’t refund the money we paid for unused nights, but that was a small price to pay to escape that hell hole.

I only found this hostal by accident as it was not on the usual websites. There is a nice spacious feel to the place. I had a single room but with a little terrace that opened on to a very noisy street. I didn't mind the noise and when you close the shutters it isn't so bad. I felt like the staff there make alot of effort to look out for you. I would recommend it to a friend. I extended my stay there in the end.

Las Gardenias Hotel is located 400 metres from Cuenca main square and from the Old Cathedral. Free WiFi access is available in all areas and free parking is offered. Each room here will provide you with a TV and cable channels. Private bathroom also comes with a shower. Extras include bed linen. At Hostal Las Gardenias you will a shared lounge, a tour desk and luggage storage. The guest house is 700 metres from Tomebamba River, 1.5 km from Pumapungo Museum and 300 metres from Modern Art Museum. Mariscal Lamar Airport is 3.3 km away.
More like a hostel than a hotel as advertised. No one works at reception. You can’t leave after 10pm unless you send a text message to be buzzed out. Hopefully they aren’t alseep when you text them to enter otherwise you sleep on the street. Room was rundown and had broken sink and toilet. Cheap bed, smells musty. I do not recommend Hotel Las Gardenias.

This little B & B is spotless. There are 12 rooms, variety of bed types, 2 doubles, queen size and even king size. Located in the Ordoñez Lasso area of town. Breakast and taxes are included in the rate. Bathrooms are small, but adequate. Note: It is priced at a per person rate! Good restaurants within walking distance. Excellent value!
