The nine islands that make up the Azores are in fact the peaks of some of the world's tallest mountains, reaching from deep beneath the Atlantic. The once-uninhabited, volcanic archipelago now hosts thousands of tourists every year who flock to the islands for sun, sand and verdant mountain scenery. From the beaches of Praia da Vitoria to the bustling marina of Horta, to the bubbling volcanic ground "ovens" of Furnas, these islands offer unparalleled--and unusual--adventures to discover.

Lovely old building, the courtyard / cloisters give it real character. Bit drafty because of the style of the building, and I imagine when it´s busier it could be a bit noisy (it was built for quiet monks!), but I slept really well in my 2 nights there. Staff were low profile but really nice and friendly if you needed them for anything. The hostel was clean, provided the usual Azorean hostel breakfast, and had free wifi in the tv/living room (not in the bedrooms). I got the bus from the airport, the bus stop is just 5 mins walk from the hostel. The bus to the sirport and Madalena only runs twice a day in each direction, though the times were fairly convenient for my needs. Overall, a good value place to stay for a solo traveller.

Comercial Azores Hostel is located in Ponta Delgada's centre, 350 metres from the Atlantic Ocean. The harbour featuring boat connections with the other Azorean islands is 2.4 km away. With hardwood floors, all units at the Comercial Azores feature a private bathroom with free toiletries, as well as a work desk and a cable TV. Some rooms also come with a balcony and include a seating area.
Wonderful place in a perfect location! Short walk to restaurants, cafes and waterfront. Very clean room. Cute patio. Friendly, helpful staff. Cozy place for our family of 5. Everyone had their own bed. We rented a car to explore the island. Free parking a few blocks away. Thank you Carlos, Luis and Maria! We will be back!

As fotos correspondem.

Located in the heart of the city of Horta, next to one of the most beautiful bays in the world, this building stands out from the real estate surrounding the great volumetry and its eclectic art deco features. Here reigns tranquility, elegance and comfort. From here we contemplate the island of Pico and the amazing beauty of its majestic mountain. Equipped with televisions, spacious and en-suite
Had to stay here when our plane to Flores was cancelled for a second time. Thought the place was really interesting (decor). Bright rooms and lots of lights. I was most impressed with breakfast. I am lactose intolerant, and they had lactose free yogurt and milk. Wonderful! Yes, it is on a busy street, and there is some noise, but we were there in May, and it was basically quiet through the night. Would recommend.

Our flight was cancelled, so we had to cancel the night and they refused to refund us. They took the whole amount. Everyone here has been flexible do to the covid situation. Very bad customer service. Late reply to my emails. 0 flexibility.

Please avoid this hostel! My partner experienced a serious case of bed bugs here. Instead of helping us, or being slightly concerned about our bodies full of terribly itching bite marks, staff ignorantly laughed at us for "complaining about mosquitoes on an island". Even with photos of the dead, bloody bugs all over our bed and a demonstration of the endless red spots on our bodies, they did not think it was necessary to disinfect everything. We cancelled our final 2 nights but will probably never see our money. Worst experience on an otherwise incredibly beautiful island!
