I wish I could stay for more nights in this hostel, it was the perfect mixture of social and calm. The people working here where very nice, they helped me with every question and problem I had. The dorm was nice, kitchen was fine, bathroom and shared areas where good. They even had a hammock. Breakfast was included in my room and one morning they they even packed me a lunch since I had to go early in the morning before breakfast started. I don't know what could be better in this price range.

A pleasant place in town center, clean, safe, quiet; family atmosphere.English and french spoken by the owner. Moderate prices, solar energy, ecological practices. Stuff support 24 hrs. Totally equipped common kitchen, green garden, table tenis, lounge with free Wi-Fi, free parking, restaurant where optional breakfast is available. Welcome!
It's a simple hostel, but it offers all that is necessary for a comfortable stay. It has a eco friendly vibe which I really liked. I stayed at a single room. Great pillow and mattress, I slept so well! The location is awesome, only 1 block away from the main street. I only had one "problem", 1 time, which was on a day when I got up at around 3:45am (for the Geyser tour) and there was no water in the taps. It was only one morning though, and I ended up using a bit my drinking water to brush my teeth and wash my face, not the end of the world. While I was in town, Chile closed its borders due to Coronavirus, so I decided to go home earlier. The owner was very understanding and only charged me for the nights I stayed. I left Atacama already planning on coming back, and when I do, I'm certainly staying at Hostal Sonchek again. I do suggest, however, that they do something about the wi fi. Currently it only works on the common areas, not in the bedrooms. They told me it's because they want to guarantee the peace in the sleeping area, but I don't buy it. It is important that there's wi fi in the bedrooms as well.

Somos un alojamiento hogareño de 8 habitaciones con baño privado en una ubicación central de san pedro de atacama donde queremos trasmitir la cordialidad y sencillez del desierto.
Very basic and clean hostel with all basic necessities provided. No TV. WiFi connection was fine. There's no air conditioning but had a huge fan in the room. It's actually cool at night that the fan was not needed. The staff was very nice. Few days after checking out, I went back asking them to keep my luggage for an afternoon until my shuttle pick up, and they had no problem with it. Great value.

Run by a traveller, Campo Base is the perfect place to start exploring San Pedro de Atacama, in the driest desert on earth. Our small size, quiet and cozy environment, and personalized attention, will make you feel at home. We will give you all the information, advice and recommendations you need to organize your time and excursions, and have a great time in San Pedro.
My friend and I stayed here for four nights in July, and we loved it. We stayed in a room with two beds and a private bathroom, and the room had all of the right touches -- especially the heavy blankets for the cold nights, plus a space heater. The free breakfast was ample, with eggs, pancakes in addition to the continental options. Staff were super helpful and friendly. I'm definitely stay here again!

This is a great place to stay, located 5mins walking from the city center and still in a quiet area. The rooms are basic, with a bed and a drawer, but very clean and with electricity and high speed wifi. The bathrooms are in common but they have to be shared with 2-3 people and they are always clean. The patio is nice and relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped. My only concern is the breakfast, which is included in the price but nobody can have it, since it starts at 7:30 but all excursions leave at 6:30 at the latest. I d suggest to remove it from the price and just keep some tea boiler and bags and coffee maker available, if guests will want some cookies they ll buy it in the nearby facilities (as they do now)

Some of the rooms here look pretty grim.dark with bars at the window. Ours was in a self contained building and very clean and comfortable. Staff are very helpful and friendly but breakfast and bar service is not available. We found an excellent breakfast in a small hotel right out of this one then first right. They served until 10.30 in the morning

We had to find a place in Calama for one night before flying over to Santiago. Hotel options in Calama are hard to find especially at a correct price. The hotel is good for one night because it's clean and staff is nice and willing to serve you correctly - but don't expect anything fancy, the decoration is quite basic and corridors can look sad. The twin room was correct, with a private bathroom and a good hot showe, and a TV. The location of the hotel is quite bad as it is far from the center - you cannot walk there - so you can only use taxi to move. You can dinner there if you don)t want to go out which can be useful.

Very nice place to stay- clean and nice staff. Good breakfast, nice patio, close to the Main Street. We felt comfortable and we enjoyed being in the village- quite particular- with expensive stores and restaurants all at the same street...
