Sam's Bungalow is a family run restaurant, guesthouse and expedition organiser in the beautiful village of Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra, Indonesia. It is nestled on the banks of the Bohorok River and a stones-throw from the Gunung Leusser National Park. As well as providing accommodation, Sam's Bungalow specialises in arranging rainforest treks and local excursions.
Is a cozy place next to the river with the great view, the owner’s are very friendly especially his kid Aska. We also booked jungle trekking tour at the property. Rama & Aska the guides is took well of us. Food at bungalow was reason able price and good.

Bukit Lawang is a peaceful village in the province of North Sumatra. The location is a main access point into the green heart of Sumatra: the Leuser Ecosystem. You will have the unique chance to view rehabilitated and wild orangutans in a guided tour through the lush forests of the region. Staying in the Ecolodge Bukit Lawang is not only a unique experience but also a personal statement in support of sustainable tourism. The facility provides an unprecedented opportunity to be immersed in North Sumatra’s unique rainforest environment while directly contributing to the conservation of the critically endangered Sumatran orangutan – with proceeds donated to the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme. The Ecolodge Bukit Lawang was established to complement and serve as an outlet for the activities of the Bohorok Environmental Education Centre. Herein we aim to increase awareness towards biodiversity conservation and the implementation and management of proper ecotourism.
I stayed Ecolodge during summer school holiday with my family to encounter Orang Utang. I did not expect much as the location is quite remote area, but found that Ecolodge was not just eco friendly accommodation but also pretty cosy accommodation. I think they provide best quality facility and hospitality among accommodations in Bukit Lawang. Staffs accommodated all of our request in timely manner. They provided us connecting room at new building, and there was a charming loft space which my daughter liked it. Foods were mainly Indonesian food selection but it was tasty. As they provide eco friendly environment, there is no WIFI in guest rooms(WIFI available at restaurant), No hair dryer, no TV and no Mini Bar and no AC. But to enjoy nature, it did not matter for us at all. We can enjoy sunrise, river view and sounds from our balcony and in the night it’s just nice temperatures without AC cause it’s surrounded by forest and river. Hotel staff helped us to arrange Orang Utang tour, and we could find two Orang Utangs and a monkey, which was awesome experience! I recommend Ecolodge for those who want to find comfortable accommodation in Bukit Lawang.

Looking for a tourist spot? Hundreds of restaurants to choose from? A place where everyone is fluent in English? Please search again, cause you will not find it on Simeulue (and that's a good thing!) What we do have to offer is one of the last frontiers in Indonesia! An almost undiscovered island off the coast of Sumatra: Pulau Simeulue (Simeulue Island) The resort is situated on the west coast of the island, right in front of the best surf break you will find on Simeulue, 100 meters from your door, Dylans, a powerful, hollow right hander, NON crowded! Surf from dawn till dusk and walk back to the resort within 1 minute! The resort is close to a small beach, blue water, beautiful reefs and a lot of palm trees. Something very special about our resort is our private saltwater pool with sun deck and outside showers. It's paradise for surfers, but when you don't fancy a session or just don't surf...you can; hang out, relax, go fishing, snorkeling, make some incredible hikes on the island, visit waterfalls, go spearfishing, take a trip to the deserted island only a boat ride away, enjoy a boat trip inland or just cruise on your motorbike to soak up the culture of Simeulue and find beautiful and mostly deserted beaches around the island.
Had a wonderful stay at Simeulue. The lodge was really nice and clean. The location and view are beautiful and the service from Fadlan and Aan was great! Really super nice! Very nice place to surf, chill out and make nice trips. So if you are looking for a top spot in Indo, then Simeulue is definitely recommended!

Located in the North West of Belitung Island on the best part of Belitung’s beach, the Beach Tent construction area were set to have minimum impact on local environments and natural habitat. Many trees and green areas are protected by minimizing vegetation clearing, excavation, and chemical use. The resorts were designed, crafted, and built carefully from local surround wood and nature material like nipa palm, coconut leave and dolken logs. By using the local elements and respecting the existing environment, we have reduced carbon footprint in transporting materials and added more local value to the property without compromising guest comfort Additionally, the Beach Tent also has a sea-turtle conservation program on Kepayang Island. A must-visit destination where sea-turtle eggs were stored and incubated until the hatchlings are released back to the sea.
It's an amazing trip for me and my family and the crews were very nice and friendly. We stay at EBT for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. We catched sea urchins, fish, and clam for our dinner. The beach is the best part.

Mas Cottages is a family-run business which has been serving the needs of traveller, backpackers and local tourists for well over thirty years.Situated a few metres from Lake Toba, Mas Cottages has a mix of traditional Batak houses which are moderately appointed with a wardrobe and desk; the newer builds have hot water. Both traditional Batak houses and newer builds have en suite bathroom facilities.Conveniently located near all the main tourist ATTRACTIONS, Mas Cottages offers various forms of transport such as motorbikes, bicycles and a car. Experienced guides are also available for hire. The restaurant is a small walk from the cottages and features an extensive menu comprising both local and western food. In addition, the restaurant has some of the most spectacular views of Lake Toba on the island: the perfect place to enjoy dinner whilst watching the sun set. Please note that this is a family-run business that specialist in providing an authentic Batak experience. Even though all rooms here are clean, well-maintained and tidy, those seeking a more luxurious experience may wish to explore other options.
Gorgeous spot by the lake, beautiful spot for dinner and breakfast with breathtaking views. I was there with my friend during the summer of 2017. During the rainy days we sat in the restaurant reading our books, having coffee and gazing at the most stunning view of the lake, the other side towards Parapat, and towards the volcanoes.. you simply cannot be bored. I would easily have stayed a few more weeks. Definitely recommend this place, and anyone who complains should also just be aware of the price we're paying - an affordable, well located place, so if youre looking for a flat screen TV and other nonsense, youve found the wrong spot. If you want comfy, well priced, good food and kind hosts - then look no further.

SAMOSIR COTTAGES RESORT (new at lake toba)
The view is unbeatable, breathtaking, unbelievable. We booked 7 rooms, including the top cottages villa. The view is much more breathtaking from this cottage villa, because it’s the highest room. But, the staff especially front office girl and boy not helping and very very not friendly. Zero in communication. My room is also not prepared dan cleaned when i check in; there’s leftover food waste in the refrigerator covered by FUNGI. Brilliant. Maybe because there’s too much room but less standard and staffs. Hopefully you guys fix it, be better.

We had a beautiful located room with a stunning view on the jungle. The food was great at any time of the day, a lot of attention to detail and good taste. The room was equipped with a fan, small sink, shower (refreshing) and western toilet. Joni is super friendly and accommodating and Putra, who arranged some day trips, was great as well. They made sure we had an unforgettable experience. I can highly recommend choosing to stay in Tangkahan over Bukit Lewang (very touristy, we did a day trip) if you're on the fence about where to go in the area.

The bungalow are basics. The view of the bungalow is very beautiful. You can do great snorkeling just infront of the property. The food is sometimes good sometimes not good. I feel like it depends who’s in the Kitchen. Sometimes you feel welcome and sometimes you feel like you are disturbing the workers because they are all chilling on their phone. One time there was one girl doing non stop tik tok... pretty annoying

Last but not least: Sergey S ist ein Troll.

If you looking for paradise, here it's! Elvys and his wife cook for you great meals. The bungalows and accommodation are just all you need. The island is beautiful : quiet, white sand, coconut trees and "turquoise" sea. You have great chance to be alone on the beach. We planned to stay 4 days and finally we stay 1 week. This place was so perfect that I asked to my girlfriend to become my wife. Elvys prepare a romantic dinner only for us. Amazing time! If you want stay here, check Elvys on WhatsApp (+62 852 9694 9888) or AirBnb.
