With hundreds of man-made lakes, state parks, casinos, museums and nightlife and dining opportunities in revitalized downtown areas in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, there is a lot to see and do in the Sooner State. The state is dotted with phenomenal lakes where swimming, boating and bass fishing are the most desired activities. Some of the state’s most popular lakes include Broken Bow Lake located near the Quachita Mountains; Grand Lake in the northeastern corner of the state at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Murray in the hills in the southern part of the state.
While the state is known for its many outdoor activities like great fishing, golf, hiking, canoeing and boating, make sure you don’t overlook its fantastic museums. Heading the list are Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, featuring the world’s largest collection of art and artifacts from the American West; the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, which tells the story of the American Cowboy; and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which has a permanent collection of American and European art. A venerable family favorite activity is Frontier City Amusement Park in Oklahoma City, which has dozens of rides and shows.

This was our second trip to The Rivers Edge and we will continue to make this a summer vacation spot for years to come. We Stayed in the Windsong the First time and then we Stayed in Pine Summit and both cabins were beautiful and had wonderful views.

Feel the rest of the world slip away as you enter our enchanted Secret Garden – A wonderful place to relax, refresh, and renew. Enjoy a quieter time where life was simple. No traffic, no noise, no worries! Our lovely cottages are located in a very private and tranquil setting where you will feel as though time has paused and slipped into a different era. Our cottages are fully furnished providing all the comforts of home, each with its own unique décor. Our private courtyard/garden has two fire pit areas, a partially covered, multi-layered deck, barbecue grills, a tranquil water fountain, as well as beautiful trees, plants, and flowers. Enjoy a family cookout and make s’mores over the fire! We are located directly across the street from the Chickasaw National Recreation Area.
Chose this property because it was close to the Chickasaw Cultural Center and not too far from Turner Falls. I read the reviews before making reservations with the idea that if it is at least 3 and the reviews say it is clean then I would make the reservations. I was so surprised to see all the 5's. Not many properties get those kind of reviews. My husband and took our grandkids ages 14 &11. We all enjoyed the beautiful setting the comfortable cabin that was clean and well equipped. Would love to go back for a recharging time with just the hubby. AND bonus it is literally a half block from the Chickasaw National Recreation Area , Platt National Historic District. When we turned onto 12th Street from the main street my husband wasn't sure we were in the right place. Just keep going....parking is in the back of main house behind an at least 8 foot cedar fence. When you open the gate to the Secret Garden you will see what all the 5's were about.

We have stayed here twice in the last few months. Both times were just excellent. We love it at Sequoyah Lodge. One trip we had a Cabana Room. We loved it. So did our granddaughter. The next trip we had a lodge room. And we loved that too. Just a great place. So peaceful and quiet. Just a nice place to stay. The staff was also great.

I recently stayed at Arcadian Getaways with my partner and definitely enjoyed our stay. That being said, I figured I’d go into a little more detail for anyone planning a stay. We stayed in their Parrot cabin which is a fun experience given we live in a landlocked state and it was entirely tropical in design. So, of course, our experience is based only on that cabin. The entire property (gated entry) is super private. Like - can’t have something delivered unless you meet them at the gate private (which can be a con sometimes). But, you don’t have to interact with anyone your entire time which is kind of nice. The things we liked the most: - yay private hottub outdoors that’s easy to use - comfy bed - sizeable space overall - comfy couch - nice jetted tub - lots of personalization touches (our names were printed on things/on the greeting plaque by the door) - full kitchen - the Christmas tree decor matched the theme of the room (seashells etc) which was a nice touch - plenty of towels for your stay - robes and slippers (note - not the fluffy kind, but they are large and warm enough). - they have shampoo, conditioner, a makeup remover towelette, a couple soap bars, a sample foot scrub and salts by the bath (the included ones - not additional cost) hand lotion and hand sanitizer available. - yummy cookies and some different snacks available if you wanted them - fridge has an ice maker - music greets you on entry (Caribbean like Christmas music for ours) and it starts it off nicely Some notes: - the bed is tall! They do have a step stool though if you need it - if you search them on Google it advertises they have wi-fi. Nothing in the cabin alerted us to this/we had no password or anything to access it if it did have it. - there is a coffee maker (not keurig) in the room. It had been lightly rinsed out from the last person and I had to clean it as there were still coffee remains in it. The main part where the water goes in also needed some cleaning. They offer both regular and decaf coffee which is nice. Powdered creamer is available and sugar in the raw. - the overall size of the shower was great - but one of the shower heads didn’t work too well. - if you want to watch tv from the jetted tub - you can’t really - the gas fireplace runs on a timer (which makes an incessant ticking noise as it counts down) and unfortunately seemed to have an issue as the flames didn’t cover much of the logs at all. It did produce warmth though :-) - the toilet area doesn’t have a door and not even a full divider really - the breakfast is a nice touch - especially getting to handle it yourselves. It tasted fairly good. I had asked for some modifications which I was told they were able to accommodate but only got one of the things. Still, a neat thing overall.

We are a fishing lodge set on a beautiful wooded lot. The motel has seven rooms. Our bunkhouse is great for large groups or family reunions. The bunkhouse has five private bedrooms with built in bunkbeds and private bath for each. The king room has a king bed, four built in bunks and two private baths. The rec room has a pool table, living area with TVs, two tables, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Each building has charcoal grills and pic nic tables.
We spent the weekend at Buncombe Corner Striper Inn as a family to celebrate Grandpa’s birthday and Fathers Day... We had a great time! We had all the hotel rooms rented as well as a couple rooms in the bunk house. We were able to use the main room of the bunk house for our meals, etc. The owners were extremely helpful and catered to our every whim! The rooms were clean and smelled good! We will definitely use this place for future fishing trips!

There were 3 of us for an overnight stay to go striper fishing. We really wanted to like the place. It was very clean - except for this lingering moldy smell on everything which the air conditioning finally disguised. However, there was no hot water in the bathroom - so we learned too late there would be no showers. And after the worst night sleep for all 3 of us (my husband had to move to the couch with no extra blankets) - we knew this was not the place for us. The $25 charge for not clean dishes also put us off. We will not be back.

We stayed in the Red cabin for our 40th anniversary in May. When we arrived at the cabin there were two single serving bottles of wine and chocolates. The cabin was very well stocked with every thing we needed. There were fluffy robes at the Jacuzzi tub. We cooked out an quit meal there and then enjoyed the view of the lake. The trip was so nice we plan on going back in the late fall for a last escape before it gets cold.

This B&B includes the whole house not just a room. One King bed, one queen and a Twin bed in the TV room upstairs. The continental breakfast is way more than just some packaged donuts. They make a fresh baked breakfast loaf (blueberry usually) and leave on the kitchen counter. The freezer has breakfast bowls and the refrigerator is stocked with plenty of water, milk and juice. This is our second stay and can't say enough good things about this place.
