Icecaps and glaciers, spouting geysers and steaming solfataras, volcanoes, raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a bevy of birds, cavorting whales offshore and much more are on your Iceland itinerary. Among lively Reykjavik's multitude of attractions are Hallgrimur's Church, a bevy of geothermal baths and sizzling hot nightlife. The Icelandic capital is the starting point for the Golden Circle Route driving tour through the southwest. The mineral-rich Blue Lagoon is a 40-minute drive from the city.

We booked a small cottage for our first night in Iceland, and were very happy with the choice. The cottages are small but cozy. The beds were not the greatest but comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep (although you won’t manage to darken the room completely during Icelandic summer; just get used to it or bring a sleeping mask). The two shared bathrooms were very tidy and the showers were great. The shared kitchen is very well equipped, modern and super tidy. There are two large fridges: One for private stuff, and one communal one, where many people who spend their last night in Iceland here leave their leftover food that can be used for cooking a meal if you haven’t yet had the chance to go shopping. Overall, we can highly recommend this for 1-3 nights in Iceland, especially just after arriving or before leaving. It would also be a nice base for short expeditions around the southwestern peninsula Reykjanes.

️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amenities ️️️️️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location Good little comfy apartment to stay in Akureyri ?? ! The bed was really comfy and it was very nice to use the Hot Tub on the balcony in the evening while having a beer ! The only thing could be that the water should be 2-3 degrees warmer…

So we had a bit of an adventure checking in. The white board of who was staying where and when was out of date. Both check in locations were closed (late afternoon). The house was quiet and the restaurant not yet open for the season.. Turns out it is really very easy. Just look up the name of your cottage in your reservation and walk in the door! Keys were inside. Yes a very trusting place. We had a good laugh at ourselves. The cottages are small but have everything you need. We sat on the porch and looked at reindeer and at least 12 waterfalls. Hard to beat. I would suggest that instructions on how to use the 2 burner stove (hotplate) would be helpful. If we had not used one before we would have had trouble as it is not straight forward. It is a good place to bring your food and relax and enjoy. Would stay here again.

We camped in our van here last week - really friendly owner, who went out of her way to keep the restaurant open for us. We enjoyed being able to have a shower and wash up inside. The hot tub is a fantastic addition - this is naturally heated, we loved spending time in here despite the freezing mad dash back inside to get our towels!

Small guesthouse on a sheepfarm in the pristine landscape of North East Iceland. It is situated on a running sheepfarm and run by the family in Holt. The accomodation is in two small cottages, each for 3 people, and also in the main building, which also has a dining area. All bedrooms have private bathrooms.
Stayed for one night in late September 2021 but wish we had stayed longer. Really did not expect the quality of food or attention detail that Hildur offers in this tucked away oasis. The guesthouse is beautifully run with a wonderful shared space with huge TV and a well stocked honestly bar. But it is the breakfast that is truly outstanding, including freshly baked bread and cooked to order eggs and pancakes. Fantastic to try the homemade jams and syrups too. I would thoroughly recommend this guesthouse and would have no hesitation in returning if I am back in this part of Iceland

Ásbrandsstaðir Cottage & Camping is just terrific, set in wonderful countryside just outside a small town which has N1 fuel station and supermarket. They have good facilities for camper vans with power hook-up, however you don't need to camp to stay. The Cottages (there are about three) are simple, modern and well appointed. Parking just outside the doors. Rooms have a coffee maker and small stove. En-suite. There is a great shared facility nearby with a kitchen, dining area, showers, laundry facilities. All maintained perfectly. The owners at the farm next door are incredibly friendly and helpful. They now have a strong fibre 5g Wi-Fi connection installed, however realistically this works around the shared facility and cannot be expected to cover all the additional rooms and caravan sites - it works really well.

Myself and my wife had an amazing time staying here. The lodge is only 15 mins from the airport but there is zero aircraft noise. If you're going in winter this is a good choice as the weather can be extreme and roads become very tricky so it was nice to be not too far away. It is also convenient for the Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik. The cabin is very easy to find and so warm and cosy. The hot tub was brill, a real experience in the Icelandic winter. Everything you need is in the lodge but be aware there is no freezer or oven, just fridge and a hob/microwave. This didn't bother us at all as we shopped accordingly and there was a large freezer outside! Katrin is a fantastic host and came to help us in our hour of need when the snow came down heavily and we needed help getting out. We couldn't fly home on our due day due to the weather and had to stay an extra 24 hours, Katrin very kindly let us stay and didn't charge us for the privilege. For the price, standard of accommodation and location, you cannot go wrong here. Thank you so much Katrin, we're missing it already.

Hjaltadalur Travel - Holar Cottages and Apartments, offer diverse accommodation that can suit the needs of most. All our accommodation comes with kitchen facilities and a washing machine. Café Hólar restaurant is open 8-20 on weekdays and 10-20 on weekends during the summer. Breakfast, a lunch buffet and a menu. During the winter months there is a lunch buffet every weekday.
To our surprise we got a one bedroom apartment with kitchen and living room, all very clean and nice at a very good price. The service was very good and we couldn't have asked for more basically. We are definitely coming back.

Although we drove past it twice because there is nothing to idicate that it is a guest house, our stay was pleasant. We had the entire lower floor apartment (kitchen, sitting room, bathroom) to ourselves. The bed was delightful-- a real king bed! It felt more like I was house sitting at afriends' place. Our host greeted us and was available on site if w needed anything.
