The best available Condos to stay near Phnom Penh

May 3, 2023 Darleen Reid

Budget-minded travelers will appreciate Phnom Penh's reasonably priced hotel rooms (several top-rated hotels on TripAdvisor offer rooms around $40/night). Explore the city's temples, palaces, and the remnants of its French colonial history. Just outside the city, the The Killing Fields (Choeung Ek) are a reminder of Cambodia's tragic past-- a somber contrast to the booming city of today.

Fantastic

We lived at the Bellevue for two years. We’ve been living in apartments nationally and internationally for more than 15 years. This rating is based on our experiences over that period. Bellevue was definitely the best of the lot. Service Staff and management are very service oriented. We were treated as welcome guests not as “revenue opportunities” to be exploited or tolerated. Good staffing levels, especially maintenance. Many places tout themselves as “communities”. We lived in several of those. At Bellevue there was no such touting, but rather the reality. This came from the management and staff and then from residents. Building Well constructed. Solidly built. Good walls. You won’t hear your neighbors nor be able to see when they turn their apartment lights on or off. Well designed. Bellevue has semi-open hall corridors which catch the wind. And thus cool the building. We ran our A/C infrequently even in the summer. Amenities Fantastic residents’ lounge on the top floor (17th Floor) of the taller tower. Three walls of windows with great views of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers and downtown Phnom Pehn. Effective A/C. Free Wi-Fi. Free tea and real coffee. The latter from a Jura machine that grinds beans for each cup and uses fresh milk. No chemical capsule coffee here. Library – eclectic collection of books and movie DVD’s—donated by residents. Green lawn outside the lounge for walking, yoga, etc. On top of the shorter tower, the Sunrise Lounge. Pre Covid the breakfast restaurant. Also used for residents’ parties. Or just watching the sunset. A tennis court, swimming pool, gym, kids’ playroom. Bellevue also has a small convenience store. Residents Mostly expat professionals and families. Responsible people > responsible behaviour. Mix of nationalities. Very friendly. Despite being newcomers we were welcomed and invited to resident organized parties. Security 24 hour guards. Gated. Key card access controlled elevators. Location Out of the hustle, bustle and noise of the city center but not far away. Short tuk tuk ride (roughly $3.5 with tip) to Aeon Mall 1 or 2. Bellevue free shuttle bus Mon – Fri to Lucky Department Store on Sihanouk next to ABA Bank HQ. On weekends and holidays to Aeon Mall 1. There’s also a ferry at the Sokha Hotel at the tip of the peninsula over to the Phnom Penh side – short walk to Aeon Mall 1 or to the PP-side Corniche/Royal Palace area. Good Neighborhood The Bellevue is excellent but what about its surroundings? One door over on the left is Khmer Organic Food. Great selection—meat, poultry, fish, fresh veggies, & fruit, rice etc. Lucky Supermarket and Aeon Value Max near the foot of the bridges to Phnom Penh. A 15-20 minute walk. Don’t miss the donut cart on Water Plant St. just around the corner off Tonle Sap. Get there early for the powdered sugar donuts! They sell out fast. Great area for a walk or exercise. Corniche along the Tonle Sap River – views of downtown PP. About 2 km to Sokha Hotel. Other options for walking or exercise. Short walk to the ferry to Kandal Province for a more rural experience. A short tuk-tuk ride to the North to ferries (there are several locations) to Koh Pich (Silk Island).

The hotel is great place to stay. Gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam, restaurant, and surrounding is just nice. If working nearby, this place can be a good choice to stay for long stay. Working around here, this serviced apartment hotel is suitable for me.

The location isn't great because it's far from downtown Phnom Penh and taxis and Grab drivers can't find it. It was difficult every time. But we were traveling with a large family and were able to get a three room (four bathroom) apartment. It was clean and good AC.

Ottima posizione, economico ma rumoroso e bagno maleodorante

Reviewed By Elizabeth830

Hamptons Apartments

Excellent value and great service

Reviewed By Gurusan2

I’ve been travelling to and working in Phnom Penh on and off since 2005. I’ve stayed in various apartments, houses and hotels. The last 2 times I’ve stayed at Hamptons in BKK1…not far from the Monument area… on Street 57. A superb location out of the main Riverside tourism area but still just a 10 min. USD$3 tuk-tuk ride away from it when you want to visit. Lots and lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. A 24 hr. grocery shop across the road and a Lucky Supermarket just a few blocks away. I came across it by accident in July and have now stayed their twice. 7 weeks in total. The self-contained apartments are modern, quiet, clean, in fact spotless, with all mod-cons. including AC, full-kitchen, satellite TV, en-suite etc. The complex has a good-sized pool cleaned daily, sauna room and gym. A 2 bedroom apartment costs about USD$1750 per month including electricity, internet, laundry for 2 and 5 day’s cleaning. All your laundry comes perfectly ironed. Security is also excellent. It’s almost a faultless set-up. The manager, Ms Aun Sophavon, is truly helpful. It’s not the 5 star Himawari with river views and full-size Olympic pool but it’s not far from it in standard and really cost effective. For those consultants or others who are staying in PP for a few weeks I would certainly recommend checking it out if you are looking for self-contained accommodation.
