Getting sick on vacation is a major drag, but if you have to be under the weather, Montpellier is an ideal place to do it. People have studied medicine here for centuries—the Moors established medical schools in the 9th century, and the Université Montpellier’s school of medicine was founded in 1220. Once the local docs give you a clean bill of health, explore the cathedral, mansions and opera house.

Nothing fantastic but it does the job. We rented a so called “studio” which was quite small but had an oversized balcony terrace. Unfortunately the terrace overlooked a busy and noisy street so we couldn’t really enjoy it. Bedding is average and other amenities are basic: kitchen and bathroom. Air conditioning is a bit noisy and doesn’t cool much, Other than that, the staff is friendly.

the good stuff: the hotel is well placed, although i had difficulty finding the front door, which was on a street opposite from the address i had for the hotel. reception was friendly and efficient, the bed is comfortable and the linens are decent. the less-good stuff: the room itself is old and needs refreshing. the bathroom, in particular needs attention (toilet bowl stained and running, vanity drawers just about to fall apart (need to be attentive to open and close them properly), the rug is crappy and stained. i would not return, nor recommend. this hotel is not inexpensive and i would add that to call it "prestige" is a gross overstatement.

We have spent almost a week in the self catering accommodation. The reception was always friendly, helpful and professional. We have requested a good month before our arrival a room on the top floor with a nice view. The reception fulfilled a half of our request. We got a room on the top floor facing the fire station and they were a bit loud in the morning and evening. Hence, we weren't completely happy with the quietness of the place. The apartment had a little kitchenette which had all basic necessary items for us to cook. The bathroom was a nice size. The room was a good size too. It's about 15 min walk to the tram station, but on the plus side only 200 yards behind the apartment was a beautiful chateau, good wines and beautiful gardens. The journey by taxi from the airport took us about 8 min and costs €29 whilst on a way back we have used public transport, two single tickets are €3.20 for the tram and €3.20 for two tickets on the airport bus. The journey took us about 25 min plus walking to the tram station 15min. Overall, the facilities of the place are reasonable, the town is clean and nice. We weren't impressed with the massage service, was overpriced for what was offered, back massage only €40 per person..for 30min....it was too gentle, it felt rather like stroking not massaging. Unfortunately, the woman doesn't speak English so if you have any pains you can't explain ...your help is Google translate or the reception.

The hotel is over priced. We spent a night there and first impressions were no good. The lobby was old, the room was very simple, and it was not even prepared for a couple; they had only one towel in the restroom for instance (even though we booked the room for 2). The toilet was broken and the room was not clean. I understand it is meant to be a simple hotel but it averages 70 euros per room which is not that cheap for european standards for a 3 star hotel. I would not book there again.

Well localised but definitely not suited for few adults! The toilet broke (we followed exactly the rules of the weird system they have installed there) and it got stuck after few uses... of course they charged us. When we asked for a real invoice they provided one from the same company as the owner!!!! It totally seemed like a trap!! Don’t stay there!

La résidence de tourisme 3*** Goélia "Sun City" entièrement rénovée en 2016 est située dans la ville de Montpellier à quelques minutes à pied du centre historique de la ville.
Good: Great front desk, very helpful, room is neat and tidy, bed is comfy enough, they also kind enough to provide a small bed for my 3 months old son. The residence (please note this is not a hotel so the front desk only opens at certain time - not a problem for us) is located is a great area, easily accessible with a stroller to Place de la Comedie (15min walk) and carrefour city is nearby (8min walk) if you need groceries. They also provide free parking which is what we like, probably the only one within 15min walking distance to Place de la Comedie. Bad: No air conditioning in the room, and it's scorching hot in summer! It feels hotter in the room because of the direct sunlight and we didn't need an alarm to wake up. They do provide a fan but to be honest it doesn't do much, there are air conditioning vents in the room but unsure why it's not available. The elevators also seem to be very unreliable, both elevators broke down on our last day and I have to carry our luggages and 3 months old baby from the 5th floor to ground floor using staircase. Overall, good stay, but please improve on the air conditioning and the maintenance on the elevators.

This building was built in the middle ages so if you love historic places this is fabulous (even with 3 flights of stairs). Alex is the perfect host, our room was very large and quiet. It is absolutely in a perfect position making it easy to discover this beautiful city.
