At the foot of the Swiss Alps lies Valais, "the valley." This fabled region is a year-round favorite, with spectacular skiing in the winter and superb hiking in summer. The Matterhorn, the Great St. Bernard Pass and Zermatt are the stars of the area, but glaciers, lakes, mountain paths, castle-churches and a wealth of resorts also beckon. Visit L'Hospice du Grand St. Bernard to see the animals who helped the monks rescue travelers or the Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Roman ruins that now house modern art.

Our Alpen Resort Hotel with Wellness area and Breakfastbuffet is within 5 min. Walking distance, the rezeption with the room keys is located in this hotel (Spissstrasse 52). Train station and center is reachable within 7-10 min.If you arrive by train, the Rezepiton of the Alpen Resort Hotel is 200 Meters straight on the street on your left. If you arrive by car, please notice that you have to park your car in Tasch. From Tasch you have to take a shuttle train (every 15 min) or a taxi to come to Zermatt.
Lovely apartments in Zermatt. Close to station (10 minutes) bars and restaurants nearby. Electric bus stop 2 min walk away. Nice and peaceful felt quite and relaxing after busy days in mountain. Apartment had everything we needed. Plenty of space and a nice furnished balcony overlooking matterhorn. Really clean and WiFi seemed fine. Nice staff at hotel who can check you in or you can do self check in. We booked before covid and got cancelled so was able to use voucher and unbelievably, the deal was the same which was great as most prices have gone up since covid! Would recommend ?

The apartment yellow is from my point of view the best choice in this house. Large open living room with fireplace, huge window front and unobstructed view of the Matterhorn. Very bright apartment, because - compared to the apartments green and red no other houses cover the view. The master bedroom is spacious, with open bathroom and glass front to the living room. The yellow curtain privacy screen to the living room is impractical, here a roller shutter would be better. The kitchen is very small with minimal equipment, especially if more than 2 people live in the apartment. The apartment is cleaned daily. Very nice is the brand new spa with small sauna, steam bath, outdoor whirlpool (warm even in winter) and outdoor pool (not heated). In summer also nice outdoor terrace with deck chairs. Indoors, we found the relaxation area not comfortable. Great that the spa is exclusive to the guests of the 4 apartments, especially in the current covid time a significant advantage. In the house there is a small reception, which is staffed throughout the day and is available to guests for concerns. There is also the possibility to have breakfast brought to the apartment (we did not use). The house is 5-10 minutes walk to the center.

We went to the Au Vieux Champex restaurant twice during our stay. The service was very average - the waiters were poorly trained and looked bored. When I asked for a sprite, I was given a spritz! The food was sort of ok so we returned another time, looking for a fondue after a day of hiking. What came along was hot water with mushrooms and some frozen meat slices. There was no cheese! We were charged $45 per person for what was a basic hot pot! Terrible. Won’t be returning.

We stayed in a one bedroom self catering apartment. It had an en-suite with a bath and a shower over and a separate bathroom with a shower. The twin beds were very comfortable though we found the duvets a little heavy for August. It's in the centre of haute Nendaz so it can be a little noisy in the evenings and into the small hours but we didn't have any trouble sleeping. Its a 10 minute walk to a cable car and the main bus stop. There are 2 supermarkets within a 5 minute walk (Coop has a better range and is cheaper). There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to chose from and there is even an Italian in the building. There are quite a few Bisses (walks next to a water channel) which are varied and scenic and aren't any where near as steep as walking up and down the mountains. This was our second visit and we would happily stay there again. One point to note, if you are checking in on Saturday after 4pm there will be no-one there so you need to let them know before hand and the keys etc will be taped to the door of their office over the road. Then you will need to check in properly on Monday morning.

This place is small but clean and has a small kitchenette which is good. BUT when we were there a family was staying next door and the kids were super loud. When I went to pay the city tax I politely asked the owner Rosmarie if it was possible to tell the family that we were next door so we could relax in the room but she shouted at me that the wall is thin and that if I have a problem with it then we should leave. I was genuinely shocked by her response, we are very laid back and didn’t have a problem with the family, they just didn’t know we were next door and that the wall was thin (we spoke to them the next day and they were really lovely) but Rosmarie the owner spoke to me with a lot of anger and disrespect when I mentioned this to her, so I wouldn’t stay here again. We had only just arrived and it put a real downer on our evening to be spoken to like this. I got the feeling that once she had our money she felt like she could say what she wanted. What a horrible way to treat your guests.

The chalet La Vue with 6 Luxury Apartments, is spectacularly located on a rocky spur above the centre of Zermatt. Accessible from street level with an elevator. Six first-class apartments with hotel service offer year-round exclusive service, comfort, and privacy in a prime location in Zermatt. Chalet La Vue features luxurious holiday apartments in a modern, alpine style with space for up to 10 persons: the perfect place in Zermatt for exclusive holidays with family and friends.
We came to choose La Vue as an alternative to hotels in Zermatt as we were 3 couples interested in traveling together. The self-appointed “Luxury living” has great reviews and a nice marketing (website) that looks attractive but leaves a lot of inconvenient FACTS aside…: To start with: there are very limited views (“La vue” in French) from the building of the Matterhorn contrary to many pictures and most other hotels in Zermatt. Secondly, the location is on the opposite side of town from all gondolas or lifts to the slopes: it is made worse by the fact that you have to climb a steep and long (400 yards) street, followed by a tunnel and 2 elevators before you can be back into your room: if you don’t mind the first time coming back from a long skiing day, it gets old after a few outings even to go for dinner down to the main street…Of course, that “detail” is not stated anywhere on the brochure or website and you have to be there to realize it.Lst but not least, the building is sitting above a major school with loud children and teens screaming at every break between classes...Worst if you are in a unit facing town...!! Although the recently (2012) built building features simple but tasteful design and style as far as the 3 bedrooms apartment was concerned, the shared amenities (reception, Spa, lounge …) are quite limited and fall short of Luxury standards: the indoor Jacuzzi is small and serves as a pool (unlike the generous size real pools that other hotels that we got to visit (modern like the Omnia, Cervo, or older establishments like Mont Cervin Palace etc…).There is no gym or work out / biking machine and the Massage team and menu are quite limited and overpriced ( I actually went for a massage at the Mont Cervin Palace Spa with amenities that are of decent size with great, international team of trained masseuses and a dedicated Manager… As far as Help/ Service is concerned, this “Luxury living” falls short again: front desk help has patchy hours ( when not smoking outside), most of the times nobody was there at standard hours and we had to deal with at least 6 different ( young/ inexperienced) agents over our 7 days stay…Except for Daniel, their English and knowledge was at best sketchy and their attitude not so great…If nobody is there, you then have to call the main hotel reception (Julen group) for remote (and delayed) assistance. The “cinema” movie room was stacked with storage stuff that blocked a third of the room and we were told that they don’t offer any DVD movie library, you just have to bring your own content… The only redeeming features at la Vue for us was a very abundant and quality breakfast served in room at the time of your choosing. When we went to the Omnia Hotel for a fine dinner, a few blocks away, we discovered an incredibly friendly and helpful reception staff even to outside guests, a great library/lounge bar/ area, an impressive pool and jacuzzi facing real Matterhorn views , and , of course, our dinner at their restaurant was incredible with great menus by a talented Chef and well trained, international caliber waiting staff. The bottom line is that it really seems that beyond the great Design and architecture job invested in 10 years ago, the Julen group owners of this place have no idea what Luxury and Service mean and entail…Not surprisingly, In the one major Holyday week before Xmas that we stayed there, we didn’t even see ONCE a senior manager on duty supervising operations…(the one featured online was certainly too busy somewhere else…). It seems very much like that this place , initially funded by a local owner of several consumer businesses (budget hotels, Retail etc…) is treating this property like a cash machine without any real understanding of what international Luxury standards entails and without any professional , onsite overview from a real General manager who would keep an eye on everything and be dedicated to the delivery of quality of service and excellence: even in the many 5 stars hotels I had the opportunity to stay around the world, I always got , even during a short few days stay, to see or personally meet the General Manager who was actively supervising operations on the ground and available and eager to interact with guests for feedback and potential improvement… In contrast, La Vue must think that they already offer you the infinite privilege of their real estate investment so they don’t feel any real obligation or commitment there to Hospitality or Service: just be aware of that FUNDAMENTAL FACT not featured on their website before you decide to spend like us more than $ 14 000 for a week compared to better, true Hospitality / hotel alternatives mentioned above that Zermatt has to offer to a discerning clientele…

Man kommt immer sehr gerne hier her. Kann man bestens empfehlen.
