Château La Thuilière is a 19th-century Tudor style manor house located in the Aquitaine countryside. Strategically positioned between: Bordeaux, Saint Emilion, Perrigueux, Bergerac & Sarlat. It offers spacious rooms with King size bed, a park and restaurant available upon prior reservation. Free private parking is available. Each room has a private bathroom with luxury toiletries. Some feature an original 19th-century fireplace and overlook the chateau’s park. La Thuilière’s restaurant serves regional cuisine with a modern twist. Local organic ingredients are used when possible. Breakfast is served in the old chateau’s kitchen, at an antique monastery table. Guests are invited to explore Thuilière’s garden and surrounding woods or relax with a book in the lounge. There is also a pool room with a fireplace and honesty bar.
I don't know how they do it, but Stephane and Layla make every guest feel like family in the best sense of the word. The chateau and grounds are gorgeous, the rooms spacious and inviting, and the food absolutely superb. But what makes this guest house truly stand out are the warm welcome and friendliness of the hosts. Stephane and Layla spent time getting to know us, inviting us into their lives, and making sure our experience in their lovely part of France was truly spectacular. Thank you both so much for sharing your home and for taking such good care of us!

Tucked 10 kilometers further up a quiet valley from the larger town of Brantome, Bourdeilles has an idyllic setting. In this old village crowned by three castles, the Hostellerie Les Griffons, a very charming inn, sits next to the river, her narrow brigde and mill, and offers 10 accomodations in a tranquil, picture-book setting. Closed courtyard with swimming pool, all rooms overlooking the river.
We stayed at this wonderful hotel to cut our travel to the south of france in half. It was the best decison! The location is dreamy and so quiet, the food and drinks at the restaurant are just wonderful and the staff lovely and helpful. You can't start your vacation in a more "tranquillle" way. Special mention for the breakfast: local meats and cheese and homebread breads, brioches and pain perdus. It was absolutely delicious!

We stopped at Chateau la France by chance for an overnight stay. The guest rooms were large, comfortable, modern. Access to a jacuzzi/sauna was a big and positive surprise. Yet, this is really isolated and you need to drive 7km to have diner. So, may not be for all, but for our family of 5, this was a great experience. Kids and adults loved the whole thing. The host was kind enough to give us a tour of the property, the cellar, ...etc. Planning to go back this summer.

The two floors of the castle count 13 rooms, 4 of which are « Classic » rooms, 4 of which are « Superior » rooms and 5 Suites that lead to the main staircase and the elevator. All rooms have a different set-up and decoration. But each room offers you what you may expect (a large bed, a flat screen TV, a mini-bar, trendy bathrooms, bathrobes…), in harmony with an estate rich in history and regional heritage (old furniture, examples of regional themes…).
This hotel is an absolute gem! Beautifully appointed rooms, friendly and helpful front desk, good restaurant and all the necessary services nearby, including a superb pharmacy to take an antigen test for traveling back home to USA.

Château de Tennessus is a remarkably authentic fourteenth-century castle complete with moat, working drawbridge, arrow-slits and battlements. Privately-owned by an English family, the castle is decorated in true medieval style; yet its lodgings offer accommodation with all the modern comforts and facilities to create a thoroughly enjoyable vacation and relaxing holiday. The Château is surrounded by extensive and tranquil grounds, including a large front lawn, rose-beds and flower-gardens, a potager in the medieval style, and recreational areas around the pool for croquet, badminton, etc.
This is a truly unique property, amazingly restored by the owners. We stayed in the Chambre Royale on the top floor. The medieval ambiance is definitely well recreated, however a few modern amenities would have made our stay even better. There are no easily accessible night stands next to the bed, you need to get up and cross the room to turn off the light above the bed, accessing the bathroom requires stepping up two stairs and bending down into a 5' door, the only mirror is less than a square foot in the bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our "picnic basket" eaten outside in the peaceful garden. It is really a full meal with a bottle of wine. I would recommend this place for the unique experience but be ready for a few quirks. Oh, and be ready for narrow winding stairs, no elevators in the Middle Ages!

Spent three nites here. Full breakfast. Old chateau atmosphere very close to Royan Golf Club and to easy access by auto to central beach city. Quiet secluded accommodation in busy beach Palais sur Mer!

We stayed at Chateau Mialaret for two nights in the spacious Paradis Bleu room. Check-in completed we were taken to our room. Some have described the decor as "tired" but this is a Chateau with history not an Ibis box! The room overlooks parkland and the huge swimming pool. We ate dinner in the restaurant and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the meals. Drink choices are extensive. Breakfast was very good with the usual bread and pastries plus yoghurts which we thought was OK. Then the cold meats and cheese appeared followed by "egg and bacon". Superb! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Chateau Mialaret and would recommend it unreservedly!

At 25 minutes from Bordeaux, in the heart of Bordeaux region vineyard (Sauternes, Graves, St Emilion, Entre Deux Mers, Côtes de Bordeaux), the Chateau de la Tour hotel was built on the ancient vegetable garden of the "Ducs D'Epernon" castle. The hotel offers a range of spacious and elegant rooms with a view on a 3 hectares park. The restaurant proposes an exquisite and expressive cookery around local products.

This 18th century Chateau lies in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne valley, the Limousin Riviera. As soon as they saw it Anne and Jean Philippe France fell in love with this elegant and charming property situated on high ground on the edge of the forest with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and the lovely Dordogne river in the valley below. Since they bought the Chateau in 1998 Anne and Jean Philippe have worked ceaselessly to restore it to its original splendour and create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Linger here - this is a quality stylish establishment. Completely renovated and continually maintained to a very high standard by welcoming owners who have the finest eye for detail. Common parts are delightful, with modernised bedrooms & bathrooms. The owners give personal attention; breakfast is delicious. The setting above the river is pretty stunning, as is the surrounding area which provides a lot of historical interest, very attractive villages and a wonderful selection of restaurants to which your host will guide you.

The Chateau is nestled in the rural landscape of Leognan amongst vineyards and horses. The chateau has four luxurious ensuite bedrooms, which are all individually designed and decorated to a very high specification, offering comfort and privacy. Come and discover this haven of peace near Bordeaux, especially our restaurant Le Manege open every day for lunch and diner.
Usually when I am on a business trip in the region I go to one of the hotels south of Bordeaux but this time we end up for three nights in the Chateau de Léognan were we had all 6 rooms. Each room is very different in decoration as the pictures already show. The welcome is very warm and pleasant. We loved the breakfast area were we also gathered after the dinner before going to our rooms. There is free WiFi. Breakfast is simple but for me very suitable to start the day : baguette, jams, yoghurts, croissants and chocolate rolls. We got cheese on demand. Besides the Nespresso there is great very strong coffee and plenty of juices. There is a restaurant on the property, the Manege where they serve wine from the chateau. I liked the cosy atmosphere of the B&B and liked the quietness of the location. I will definitely go back during one of my next business trips.
