Since most capsule hotels only allows male staying guests, so I had to spend some time online to look for a capsule hotel that allows female guests since it was a solo trip for me and I had always wanted to give capsule hotels a try. There is a hotel shuttle van that picks/alights guests from in front of a bookstore opposite JR Sannomiya station. However if you walk, it will probably take 10mins. (There is a 24hr food outlet just next to the bookstore, and the food is nice and cheap). Upon entering the hotel, you will have to place your shoes into shoe lockers. The front desk staff are polite and friendly, however they speak nearly no English, but then again, I didn't need to communicate much with them anyway, other than the usual check in and check out procedures. After check-in is done, a staff brought me up to the female-only level where I had to use a key to enter the sleeping quarters. The lockers for the bags are extremely narrow so I don't think you will be able to fit bags larger than 22". There were normal capsule bunks and also deluxe capsule rooms. I stayed at the deluxe capsule room, where I had my own private "room" with non-lockable sliding door. The room consists of a capsule bed, and a desktop computer.

Arrived at 2:55pm for a 3pm check in and literally got shoo'ed away at the door; told to go away and come back at 3pm. Went to a nearby cafe for a drink and came back at 3:10 to be met with a HUGE backlog of people trying to check in (presumably all people that had been turned away too, all returning at the same time. This meant a long wait for check-in. Staff were then quite rude and patronising, basically telling us everything we can't do while there; not exactly a warm welcome! There's a convoluted system with keys for shoe lockers and bag lockers where you have to constantly swap keys in and out of reception if you're leaving the premises for any reason. Luckily, we were only staying one night but if you stay more than one in a row, you have to pack all your stuff up, take it down to reception and check-out of your room and go through this whole process again at check-in time at 3pm! Madness! We actually cancelled our room for the next 2 nights for this reason. Hardly a relaxing experience in all. Capsules themselves are roomy(ish) and fun as an experience but not as a nice place to stay. Would recommend for 1 night for the fun of it, but no further than that!

I stayed in this capsule for a night. The location is very convenient. Close to restaurants, bars, and the metro. Helpful staff. Beds were comfortable. Totally recommend this capsule. the price is reasonable and good value for the money.
