Ripple Creek Cabins

Phenomenal customer service!

Reviewed By 567phillipv

I'am going to be hones and start off by saying that I have not actually stayed here. But, My brother and his wife has. I wanted to do something special for them as they were going on a baby-moon. I emailed this establishment and asked if I can somehow send a card and a bottle of (non-alcoholic) champagne to their room upon their arrival. My brother didnt give me much info on this place except for a screen shot of a map of the area. I googled it and sent the email asking. Meghan, replied instantly and said that it would be no problem. She offered to have me send in a hand-written card, but, unfortunately, I wouldn't have much time. She exceeded my expectations of customer service and I will will go and stay in these cabins in the future. I live in Atlanta, GA so for her to do me this favor was huge. I am grateful! (I answered the rest of the questions below by asking my brother about his experience)

Trinity Mountain Meadow Resort

Amazing Get-a-way!

Reviewed By BBL16

Trinity Mountain Meadow Resort is a very special place. It is run by several families for only a 6-week season each summer. I would describe the property as a hiking retreat with childcare--perfect for families. You book a one-week stay, and during the stay all food (which is absolutely amazing) is included. After a long drive in (this place is not close to anything) you park your car and won't touch it for the week. Each morning there is a home-cooked breakfast. Lunch is packed as a sack lunch for hikes, or eaten at the lodge. Dinner is a special event--first is a "kids" dinner followed by a grown-up dinner, while the kids are entertained by the rec staff. My kids (ages 5 and 9) absolutely love this set up. Of course, the adult dinner is a real treat as well! During the day, there are incredible (and quite challenging) day hikes to take from the lodge. Childcare is available (for an extra fee) on monday, wednesday, and friday for kids who aren't up for big hikes. Other days are perfect for shorter hikes or swimming in the river. Mountain Meadow gives guests the opportunity to disconnect. There is no internet, and the resort is off the grid--powered by generator during the day, but without electricity at night. I love that my kids never get bored here, despite the lack of electronic devices. I love that my biggest worry each morning is choosing which hike to take, or selecting my sandwich type for my brown bag lunch. I recommend going with friends or extended family--we always go with our good family friends--and it is a wonderful way to spend time together without worrying about planning/cooking/clean up etc. I cannot recommend Mountain Meadow highly enough. We feel lucky to have found this place.

Sunflower Cabins

Awesome!

Reviewed By barongruda

Three nights here, what a joy. No noise, other than the Trinity River, great weather, a cozy cabin. A great getaway from the city. The owners are attentive and available if anything is needed. If you are to staying here plan a daily menu as there is nothing close in the way of dining or grocery stores. They have a propane stove and a good fridge with freezer. Very important, hot water for the shower and bath. We took one trip to Etna about 45 minutes away, for some last minute items but otherwise Weaverville is about one hour away. We BBQ'd two nights and could have done a third but were a little tired from hiking. It is a great place to just sit and worry about NOTHING. Make a fire in the fire pit and check out the stars. And oh yeah, a few cold ones in the cooler is always recommended.

Trinity Lake KOA

Trinity Lake California camping is simply more beautiful and more fun on KOA's 90 wooded acres at the north end of Trinity Lake. Just one and a half hours west of Redding, California this outdoor paradise is the perfect place to hike, fish and enjoy world-class whitewater rafting. This campground is Big Rig Friendly with beautiful wooded campsites, tenting, and cabin accommodations.

You get what you pay for, and a lot less

Canp is mot up to usual KOA standards. Staff is friendly, but amenities suffer. The fish cleaning stations hard to get near because of yellow jackets (meat bees ) swarming because the station was full of fish heads guts and ants, had not been cleaned for sometime. The bulk of the clientele seemed to be Quaders and off road vehicle types. Several large groups of them , noisy during the day but noisier at night. 10 p m quiet time was non existent on Fri 8-21, noise and partying well past midnight, no enforcement whatsoever. After the weekend the place was quiet again as most people departed. I will not stay here again

A wonderful place

I was planning a family reunion and this turned out to be the perfect spot. We all rented nearby cabins, which are not fancy, but very very nice with kitchens, individual bathrooms and a sleeping loft in most of them. I had never been to Trinity Center before and it's gorgeous, remote and a perfect place to chill. We enjoyed the pool and the nearby swimming hole. We rented a pontoon boat at the nearby marina. Hopefully the drought will end and beach access will return. Marie, the owner was wonderful in helping me coordinate this festive event. My family members are definitely wanting to do this again.
