Chateau La Grange Fort is an estate of 25 hectares beautifully situated on a hill with kilometers of views all around the diversified coutryside of the Auvergne. Issoire, a picturesque town with a historic town centre and a lively Saturday's market is close by. Driving through ancient French villages in an always changing scenery, is only 10 minutes from the Motorway. Would you like to visit a big city for a day ? Clermont-Ferrand, a lovely city full of shops, culture and history, is only half an hour away by car. The chateau La Grange Fort supplies a mix of culture, history and modern holiday comfort. The river Allier river flows around the boundaries of the estate guarantees loads of waterfun. It's location, in the east with regard to the Central massive, provides an agreeable micro climate with less rain than in the surrounding regions.Elegant "Chambres d'hotes", a pleasant stay at the 3 star camp-site, a comfortable bungalow, chalet or mobile home, the choice is up to you.
It is probably a good place to camp, but as a hotel I feel they have given up. The pictures arent accurate, food is not available, there is no one available to fix powercuts when the fuze breaks, the place is cluttered in christmas decorations... in may. The wifi didnt work in the bed room. The pool was green and not available (no discount for this by the way!). and all in all, quite disappointing. We stayed one night and decided to leave at the first opportunity in the morning so no comment on breakfast.

Camping Les Chelles *** is situated in a region rich in history and in the centre of the natural reserve of Livradois Forez, at an altitude of 600m. Camping Les Chelles is especially suitable for families and lovers of the outdoors, and an ideal base for hikers and bikers. It offers 50 places for tent, caravan and campers. Les Chelles offers chalets, mobile homes and caravans for rental. Les Chelles fully equiped chalets for 4 a 7 people are open all year. The surroundings of the camping are worth visiting all year. In the Winter also suitalble for downhill and cross country skiers
We stayed here for a week whilst on a combined holiday and business trip in the area. It is an excellent site in a beautiful location. Rolf and Monique, the owners, could not be more welcoming and run the site well. We ate at the restaurant on most nights of our stay and the food was simply wonderful, without exception. There are excellent sights across the mountains and the whole site is very quiet with friendly guests and staff. There is public WiFi across the site, although this was sometimes unreliable and was slower than using 3G or 4G mobile telephone internet. My only reservation is the mountain roads leading to it, having been nearly run off the road on arriving. Be aware that they are narrow, steep, and windy. With that one caveat, it is highly recommended.

I must admit I was a bit concerned about coming here. Although the cabins looked fantastic I could see the site is a very large campsite and was concerned on the location of the cabins. Thankfully the cabins are located in a very private spot near the campsite and the complete site is very tastefully arranged to give everybody their own space and privacy. The sat NAV had a bit of a struggle finding this place and we eventually arrived at the wrong side of the park. I walked across to the hotel to find it complete empty and the adjoining restaurant closed down. The complete site looked shut. We travelled back to the village to get around to the other side of the park and eventually found the reception which was also closed. A quick telephone call to the number on the door was soon answered and we were directed to our cabin. There are two self catering cabins which are fabulous. They have an excellent location and are fully equipped. The wooden bath is quite a novelty and a challenge to fill. There is also a shower hidden away in a very small room to the side of the bed. The toilet is immediately in front of the shower and has less pace than some yachts I have been on. This is an excellent location to explore the surrounding area and a very comfortable cabin. We made use of the log stove as the temperature dipped. Although some parts of the site look very dated and the hotel and restaurant is closed it's a great spot and the cabins are fabulous.

Camping ground quiet, relaxing, next to the Vulcanos. Enjoy the new installations : restaurant, swimming pool, golf ground... Around the camping, you can find : • Puy-de-Dôme : 11 km • Vulcania : 14 km • Clermont-Ferrand : 7 km
Simple Campground with spaces for tents/caravans and some rental accommodation. There is a pool on premises as well as (outdated but free) mini golf. Simple restaurant/ bar is also available. In the are there is a volcano which is worth a visit, but for the rest there are not a lot of things to do. There is a supermarket at 10 minutes drive (quite far on foot). The campground is simple, nothing spectacular about it, but also nothing bad. We rented a holiday home (trailer), which was very clean and new, but the walls were exceptionally thin. It did contain anything simple one would need (four needs/ two bedrooms)

We first visited Volca’lodges 3 years ago, and loved it. Our second stay was still lovely, but not as much fun as last time. Lionel is still in charge, but he has staff now to look after the place and the restaurant has a new chef, who can clearly cook, but the waiting staff are either new or simply poorly trained. It misses the personal touch I think, but it’s still a great place to stay.

Found site eventually after all Satnavs got confused. It would help for site to add directions to their Website. Staff were very helpful after a confusing time locating pitch due to presence of old numbers!! Nicely wooded site with pitches randomly amongst the trees. Toilet block excellent. Good Motorhome driveover facility for grey water and fresh water tap. Nicely located for trip to Puy de Dôme.
