Great cabins, a spectacular view, and warm northern hospitality! Located in New Hampshire's Great North Woods, we offer cozy, housekeeping cabins with a spectacular view of First Connecticut Lake and it's surrounding mountains. Each uniquely different, individual cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, one, two and three bedrooms, satellite television, outdoor grill during the summer months and private porches with great views. Our beautiful area is a favorite of many fishermen, hunters, snowmobilers, moose watchers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Explore the woods and waterways of the Great North Woods. Paddling, hiking, birding, fishing, moose watching and more! Kayak a watery moose meadow or spend the evening listening to the loons call to each over the moonlit lake.
We rode in from Berlin NH on atv's. Great location offering everything you would ever need. Close to town for supplies, yet in a country setting. The only suggestion i could offer would be better trail signage or markings on the atv map. Looking forward to next year's trip already!

I love this place. There is no were else I can get a good night sleep. Listening to the water from the river below is so soothing. You have everything you would need in the cabin and it is reasonably priced. I would recommend this property for a quick getaway or even a longer stay. We were afraid that once the property sold that it may not have the same vibe but it does and the owners do get back to you on any requests.

Second visit and it was better than the first. The owners are friendly, flexible and gracious and the location is superb. Cathy and Jerry are very helpful in pointing you in the right direction including connecting me with a superior fishing guide. Will be back time and again.

Nestled in 170,000 acres of protected forest, Ramblewood Cabins & Campground offers a scenic and relaxed destination for all four seasons. During the winter, snowmobile enthusiasts value 200 miles of groomed mountain trails accessible from their doorstep. In the summer, our guests appreciate the stunning views of Mt. Magalloway and First Connecticut Lake as much as the hot showers after a day of hiking, hunting, fishing, or kayaking in one of our rental boats. After they've played a game of pool in the game room and bought a treat from our office store, kids especially enjoy our high speed Wifi and Verizon cellphone service. If you're looking for something with the comforts of home, our cabins boast queen sized beds, kitchens equipped with cookware and appliances, as well as satellite television.
I was very very disappointed in the way I was treated at Ramblewood by the office help the things I was told one time and then told later that that was not the way it was the manager or whoever she is was very rude. I was told if there was Wi-Fi in every cabin it’s also on the website when I called and asked how to hook it up how to connect and what the password was I was told it that there was no Wi-Fi I was never told it it was Wi-Fi and if I wanted to use Wi-Fi I had to come to her office to use it she was very abrupt and uncaring the money that I cost staying here I would think you should have a little bit of caring as the manager and helping the people that are staying here when I got here the place was not clean the coffee pot or coffee maker somebody you didn’t put a filter in and just put grounds right inside with water and filter should go there was no toilet paper put out I just don’t understand why somebody should be treated like they tried treated us I’m hoping that someone will do something to make it better for the patrons that want to stay at Ramblewood hopefully they’ll correct these problems and maybe find someone that would be more respectful I appreciate if that happens Sthua

What a pleasant surprise Spruce Cone Cabins was while fishing on a long trip through VT, NH and a portion of Maine. My 45+ year fishing buddy and I had stayed at state and private campgrounds over the preceding few weeks but we elected to stay in comfort for a couple days while fishing the area lakes. The cabin, in our case 'Phil's Camp', was spotless and very well furnished, fully equipped from coffee maker to cable TV, front screened porch to long hot showers.....it was almost like cheating but we both enjoyed the stay in every detail......you'll enjoy Gary the owner, he has a long list of very true worldly adventures to speak of!

The Cabins are Large and well appointed. The Contemporary Interior 'natural wood' with exposed beams sets these Cabins above the usual 'rustic' interiors. Complete Kitchen with full size Refrigerator / Freezer, dry food storage draws, Internet makes this an ideal place to stay in Pittsburg, NH. In addition the Cabins are spread out with interesting views. My Cabin #20 had 2 bed rooms with two beds each. My adventure was 4 days of ICE fishing, so the Hot shower at days end was a welcomed treat! At $47/per person/night, makes this and affordable place to stay. Off of the beaten path, just off of Route 3, all of the Connecticut Lakes are easily accessed. The area is known as Moose alley, so be respectful of this when driving.

Let me just start with I never write a review and I especially never write bad reviews, however, the response we received is inexcusable. We rent campsite 80 for $82.00 a night. We thought this amount was expensive for pitching a tent but it was on the lake and our friends were staying in other camp sites in the park. When we arrived on Friday and realized that the campsite is very close to the main road (can see our tent from main road close) which turned out to be a trucking route, only a few trees blocked our view of two extremely full dumpsters and the employee parking lot, on top of the about half the site was covered in sewer caps and a sewer tube. I looked at the campground map and the sewer caps were conveniently not shown even those it takes up quite a bit of the site. We still give them the benefit of the doubt and pitched our tent as the park was clean and full of amenities. During the entire stay our site was extremely buggy down by the lake and with all the rain throughout the weekend the sewer started to smell in addition to the constant slight smell of trash. Throughout the three nights no one slept (we all sleep like dead people - nothing wakes our children and they were up)- first the road with the constant trucks passing by at high speed, and then the garbage truck on Monday emptying the dumpsters at 7:00 am which caused a even stronger trash smell as we cleaned up the site and the lingering sewer smell that haunted the site from Saturday to Monday. On Monday at check out - I asked for a small refund due to camping on top of a sewer that smelled, the closeness to the road, and the emptying of the dumpsters. I said that I felt mislead by their map on the website - no sewer pipes and looks like it is farther from the road and dumpsters. The woman at the desk told me that I should have come to them earlier and asked to be moved. I did - I asked to be moved on Saturday and was told there was no where to move - all the sites were rented. I was also told I should have been explicit about the sewer smell on Saturday and they would have been down to do something - what I don't know. I again asked for a small refund and was told there is nothing they could do - they don't give refunds. When I mentioned that I would make a review - I was suddenly told the owners would call me to discuss our stay and possible refund. That was three weeks ago and no call from the owners and no small refund. I will never stay at this campground again. It is extremely clean and well maintained - I just thought for $82.00 plus rooms and meals tax that I wouldn't be sleeping on top of a sewer, next to a stinky dumpster and a trucking route.

There is a special place at the very top of New England a place for a perfect four seasons getaway, a vacation or a family reunion it is called Metallak Shores Resort& Cabins. The accommodations at Metallak Shores resort are simply the best in the area, with over 2000 feet of private lakefront. Choose from one to two bedroom log cabin or the magnificent four bedrooms Metallak lodge all nicely appointed and fully equipped.
Decided to take the family of four to Pittsburg, NH for two days of snowmobiling in Pittsburg. Found the Bear Tree Cabins / Lodge on line. Folks were super nice on the phone. Booked the room. Had a very late arrival 1 AM after a six hour drive. Spent the first night in the Tall Tales Cabin which was nice. We came back after a great day of snowmobiling to learn there was a problem with a freeze up in one of the heating pipes. It was ten below. So just a little on the cold side. The owner was at the cabin working on the problem and upgraded us to the Metallak Lodge. Which was an absolutely beautiful log cabin (very large). massive stone fire place, on a hill over looking First Connecticut Lake. very very nice lodge. Huge porch, wonderful large living room. If you are a large family or two families looking for a vacation rental, this is the place. You won't be disappointed. The "man cave" across the street with the flat screen and taxidermy on the walls was sweet. The customer service and property made it a great place to stay. I'd do it again.
