We stayed at Olifants River Lodge in March 2022. We stayed in one of the “luxury” rivierview villas, whilst friends of ours stayed in the camping area with their caravan. The resort is easy to find, although there is about 6km of dirt road (in a very good condition) one has to travel to get to the resort. The resort has a large heated pool inside a building, and 3 or 4 cold water pools. (We didn’t actually see anyone use the cold water pools – everyone was enjoying the heated pool.) There is a shop which stocks all the basics, and a restaurant. We only visited the restaurant one one occasion, and although there were very few people, the service was very very slow, and the waiter struggled to understand our basic order. The food was quite good though. We stayed in a “luxury” riverside villa. I wouldn’t call it “luxurious” – it seemed quite basic, but there was everything we needed. The villa was clean at first glance, although if you are very fussy, you are bound to find areas which haven’t been cleaned/dusted. The villas also need some basic maintenance – ours had one or two loose tiles, and some light bulbs need to be replaced. I wasn’t mad about the in-bath shower with plastic shower curtain, but it served its purpose and there was always hot water. The beds were very comfortable and we slept like kings. Our friends stayed in the large camping/caravanning area. There is a huge grass lawn, and all the caravan/camping spots are nicely spread out, so you’re never falling over other campers’ tents. It was very quiet and enjoyable. There is a river which runs in front of the camping spots, so take enough warm clothes/blankets if you are camping. The ablution facilities were in fair order, but could also do with some upgrades. We saw plenty of carp and catfish being caught, so it’s a good spot for those that enjoy fishing. There were plenty of kids around, but they were never distracting as they were always in the pools or on their bicycles cycling all over the resort. We look forward to our next visit there, although we’d rather camp then stay in the villas again.

We choosed a family gathering with the best and clean resort. The river and mountain helped reminding us of God's nature. The trout and otter's at dundown suprised us with their amazing jumping up from the river. What an amazing ecpierance.

We needed a well deserved escape from JHB and found a a gem just 4 hours out in the beautiful town of Hazyview. We were welcomed with open arms to the most beautiful tented camp where we automatically felt like family! The tents equipped with comfy beds and a full on bathroom! What more could a girl (and her family )ask for. On top of it then were welcomed by the most amazing staff. from the mangers to waiters. We went with a 5 year old little girl and it gave me so much comfort to know that the staff had her best interest at heart. There is an amazing beach (just off the Sabie river) where by she played with beach toys and made sand castles. Keeping her busy for hours. A pool to swim in. And never mind the beautiful Sabie river that we swam in every day and tried fishing for the first time. The food was amazing and innovative, each night a complete delight! We completely relaxed on our 4 day glamming experience. Gosh I’m not one for tubing down a river but it’s available right in front of the lodge, I gave it a shot and it’s definitely a thrill and everyone that goes there needs to give it try! It truelly was an amazing experience and I only thank Heath and his amazing team for such a wonderful experience. We really felt like it it was a home away from home.

Joy River Backpackers are nestled in a valley in between mountains at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon and the Blyde River flows right past its doorstep. The Blyde River Canyon is the third largest canyon in the world but unlike the other two, the only green canyon. The other two, being the Grand Canyon in the USA and Fish River Canyon are both situated in deserts. There are many sights to see which encompass an array of waterfalls, trails inside the canyon and famous God's Window is a mere 15 km's away. Joy River sports the only hostel in the area and offer the best value for money whole area of the Blyde River Canyon. There's simply no other Hostel in the vicinity that makes all viewpoints so accessible. The property has three buildings that is used for accommodation. The Stone House, Dormitory and Cottage of which is more fully described on this website.
Great location for the Bourkes Luck Potholes + God's Window and all the other waterfalls. Seems to be one of the only backpackers in the area. Photos really don't do this place justice, great friendly host, nice hostel dogs. Clean kitchen to use and a wicked braai spot too. Be sure to check out the stream at the end of the garden and have a swim. Also you must go to Potluck Boskombuis for a meal, the food and setting is unbelievable

Kruger View Chalets is nestled on the banks of the Crocodile River, which is all that separates you from the esteemed Kruger National Park. We offer you the perfect riverside setting for your stay. What can be more refreshing than sipping on your beverage while watching the spectacular sunset only Africa can showcase, a variety of feathered friends and other regular visitors on the banks of the river?
We stopped at Kruger View Chalets before starting a 10 day trip inside Kruger Park. The location was perfect for entering at Malelane gate, which is a straight shot from the Johannesburg airport. It was great to spend the night at Kruger View and get final preparations done before entering the park. The staff was great and the room was very nice. Great dinner at the Deck next door. Highly recommend staying at Kruger View. We even saw Elephants and Hippos from the room

Resort on the outskirts of Dullstroom including caravan park, cottages, events hall, dams. Previously known as the Dullstroom Nature Reserve. Has been under new management since 2016. Peaceful yet vibrant atmosphere with a most beautiful view of the Suikerboschkop, excellent fly-fishing and good camping facilities and beautiful and clean ablutions.
We thought the chalet was neat and clean. Shower could do with a bit of an upgrade. Facilities were good. Boys went there for a fishing weekend and were bitterly disappointed. Fish have not been stocked for a long time. No up to date records are being kept for the catches either. Dullstroom Dam used to be the place to go for Trout Fishing. The fact that the day visitors do not pay to enter the property is also a disappointment. Charge a nominal fee and use this to stock the dam to lure the fishermen back. Our chalet was the only one occupied the whole weekend.

This an awesome place for camping. Staff is very friendly. Received us with a smile. We stayed at campsite number 4. The view from this site is just beautiful. Camping under the trees over looking the woods and mountains. I would definitely book again. Thanks to all staff.
