There's a very good reason why Hoodia Desert Lodge has received over 400 "Excellent" ratings on Trip Advisor-- they are richly deserved! The lodge itself is just lovely and it is located in an absolutely stunning location. The individual rooms (mini-lodges, actually) are beautifully appointed and very comfortable, and the meals were just delicious. Our host, Thomas Becker, could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, as was true of the rest of his staff. Because we were traveling with our own guide, the only activity that was arranged for us by the Lodge was a "sundowner" on our last night there, but it was truly special. The spectacular setting was carefully chosen for optimal sunset views, and the drinks and hors d'oeuvres were excellent. I have included a few photos which hopefully will not get lost in the gallery of more than 600 photos that other guests have posted. We highly recommend this lovely facility!

Perfectly positioned at the Entrance Gate to Sossusvlei and Sesriem, the Sossus Oasis Camp Site offers 12 individually shaded sites, each equipped with its own toilet and shower facilities, kitchen wash-up basin, barbeque and electricity points. Enjoy the unsurpassed views over the desert landscape, surrounding mountains and Elim Dune or relax in the sparkling pool found in the centre of the camp site. Facilities within walking distance includes a fully stocked shop with groceries, toiletries, drinks, ice, clothing, curios, internet cafe, fuel, diesel and a tyre workshop at the Sossus Oasis Service Station. At the adjacent Sossusvlei Lodge one can book meals at the restaurant and exciting activities to explore the area at their Adventure Centre.
Very well situated camp site with garage and small shop and within easy distance of Soussusvlei. Even though some of the sites are next to the main road there are so little traffic after sunset that it doesn't cause any noise issues. Excellent shower with plenty hot water and own private bathroom well laid out and spacious. Well worth the money

My cheapest accommodation in Namibia, but definitely better than some of the more expensive ones. My expectations were exceeded and the sleeping comfort was very high. Breakfast and dinner were very good. I don't really like free-roaming dogs. Tethered and out of my reach and my plate, I much prefer dogs.

Private parking area next to each unit. Mountain View Villa is situated on its own property within the Kronenhof reserve and away from the main lodge. It comprises of four individual un-suite units with
Great place to stay, good rooms, super views and good host! We were here with our wedding party and were amazed by the accommodation and the staff. Tjaard was really helpful and especially the private campsites were of high quality.

Nestled on the Southern edge of the Namibian desert in the Karas region within an extraordinary Nature Reserve, Sonop is created in the form of a luxurious tented camp constructed on top of boulders. Ten lavish tents invite guests to live the life of yesteryear’s wealthy explorers from the early 20th century.
They are situated right on top of a large granite hill, and their view from the rooms and restaurant are one of the best I have seen in Namibia. The tented-accomodation-style rooms are colonial-style decorated. I must remark, that I would not consider Sonop a true 5-starm lodge, as we had incomplete supper offerings (not all available) as well as the decor in the rooms was not complete (no netting on beds)... For a true 5-star rating more attention to detail is advisable...

Beautiful camp and nice staff. We had a wonderful time. Thanks to the whole team for beeging part of our Namibia Journey. You definitely need to have a dinner in this place. Andreas is a stunning chef. The food is incredible. Also to mention Paula. She has great recommendations for the whole region.

Great campsite to stay at. We did 2 nights here. It can get really really hot at ssesriem and the shaded site can help a little - but access to the NWR pool helps even more! Having an attached shower and toilet was a luxurious touch for us :) campsite is small and quiet. There is a lot of room between each site.
