The central Norwegian area of Trondelag has its ideological capital in Trondheim, founded by Viking king Olaf Tryggvason in the 10th century and the seat of Norway's power until the 13th. Today, it's still the country's third-largest city, a university town with a rich culture. Trondelag's western offshore islands of Hitra and Froya are popular for outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, biking, snorkeling and scuba diving. They are also one of the world's best spots for deep sea fishing.

Fantastic campingsite. Stayed at one of the cabins with two bunk beds and it's definitely worth the money. Good location, clean and in good standard. Had a good nights sleep here. Was a nice beach with pebbles to take a walk on. Will definitely be staying here next time. Recommended!

Smegarden Camping is located in the community Oppdal, 128 km south of Trondheim in Norway by E6. The camping site is surrounded by mountains, by a forest and, a river called Vinstra, a side river to the salmon fishing river, Driva. Here you may walk by the river, fish for free and you may light a fire by our special building called gapahuk. The camping site can offer : - Cabins with 2, 4 and 6 (2 bedrooms) beds equiped with cooking plate, fridge and cable-tv. - Paved roads, good sanitary facilities, kitchen, wash room, solarium, TV-room and a kiosk. - Caravanparking for all-year camping. - Cable-TV for connection to cabins or caravans. - Free wireless internet access. - Nice playground with slides, a sandbox and a trampoline. - In the reception we will assist you in getting the information you want about activities and adventures in Oppdal and the nearby regions and towns.
We only stayed one night this time, but would very much like to come back some time. The service faxilities are nice and clean and well maintained. The site is close to the road, but still quite peaceful.

Halland Camping is Rennebu municipality in southern Norway. You will find us close to E6, 75 km south of Trondheim, and 7 km north of the municipal center Berkak. We are a family camp that emphasizes that the whole family to enjoy when you visit us. We offer a range of activities on and near the campsite: Near the camp there is a river where you can fish for trout for free. 10 km from the campsite, we find the Orkla and Gaula which are two of the country's best salmon rivers. Here you can try if you're interested in bigger fish than we have at the campsite. The campsite is also located in an area where there are good opportunities to go for a walk. The youngest (3-12 years) are offered miniature electric cars, which can run on a closed course at the campsite. This is a very popular offer! There are also a variety of play equipment where children can play. One can also pet rabbits or feed goats! Rental of mini golf: The courts are located at the camp, and is intended for the whole family, small as big. 9 different paths with many different challenges.
This is a camping /RVpark that is located along the E6 main road. The noise from the road on one side and rail track on the other can be a little too much for some. I stayed here with friends for 3 nights, we rented a cabin. The cabin was small, it had one bunk bed and a sleeping couch. The cabin had thin walls. The toilet/shower facilities looked ok, seemed clean , the women’s bathroom had three toilet stalls and only two showers. They also have cute rabbits and goats there and a good size playground for kids.

On the arrival day, they called us, to tell us, that our reservation (which was made 14 days earlier) was cancelled. No proper explanation was given, according to them some of our emails (sent 14 days earlier) ended into their spam and they were not sure whether we will arrive. They left us stranded with 2 small kids at the peak of the season, with no alternative offered. We had to pay 4 times higher amount plus the additional stress.

Had to make an unplanned overnight stay in Oppdal and just wanted an inexpensive place to crash, no frills. I had never stayed in a "hytte" before and, man, for this niche class of inns (not a hotel mind you) it was very nearly perfect. Perfect for our needs. Clean, comfortable, and best of all CONVENIENT. The little cabin was tight, but tidy. It had bunkbeds, a TV, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchen with a refrigerator, sink and stove, and a central table around which to gather. The room was amply warm (when chilly outside) and had an outdoor table for picnics in sunnier weather. The location was perfect! It is about a city block from the central mall of Oppdal, the gas station, the restaurant/retail promenade, the rail station, and several grocery stores. We even took a nice stroll out to the local historic museum park. The winter resort town of Oppdal has many more accommodations of various types (hotels, bed and breakfasts, camping places), but for the money, we could not have asked for a more comfortable nights stay. Just be aware that linens are not included (we used sleeping bags), a self clean up is expected before checkout, the property is dog friendly, no smoking, and bunkbeds may not be that comfortable for some adults. I was on a guttatur with my mates, but I plan to return someday with my family. Highly recommended.

Our rooms have not been cleaned, the towels not changed every day. We didn’t have any clean towels for the next morning. Nobody could be reached to arrange the problem. The owner was not here, neither in the late afternoon and not in the evening Frans, Myriam, Mie, Guy

Best family camping I have been to. Very child friendly and family friendly with lots of activities and toys. We were just staying a night on our way another place, but are considering coming back next year for a week. Affordable prices and very clean. The cabin was well equipped, everywhere was clean. Comfortable beds, best night sleep I have had in over a week. The people that ran the place where very friendly and helpful. Kids are so disappointed we couldn’t stay a few nights. Our 12 year old said she wanted to move there.
