Johnston Canyon Lodge & Bungalows has been proudly family owned and operated since 1926 and is ideally located at the trail-head of historic Johnston Canyon. The trail boasts over 7 cascading glacial waterfalls experienced from a series of suspended canyon catwalks, bridges and caves; it is a must-see natural attraction in Banff National Park. We offer 42 heritage bungalow/cabin accommodations in a variety of sizes and amenities. Within the lodge, a market/cafe and a restaurant bistro enhance your stay with us. Just a 20 minute drive west of Banff on the scenic route to Lake Louise called the Bow Valley Parkway. Here the property is set within 5 acres of natural pine and spruce forest. It is truly the ideal central basecamp to explore all of the spectacular sites and natural wonders presented in the Banff-Lake Louise region. We look forward to meeting you!
We enjoyed the beautiful setting of our cabin. The cabin itself was very comfortable, as were the beds and bedding. The gas stove kept the main rooms warm, and the shower had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was functional however it lacked some essentials needed to make basic meals: there were no cloths, no pot with a lid to boil water, no tea pot and no coffee filters that fit the coffee machine. We did ask for these, but only some items were delivered. Also, the pull out bed needed cleaning and some bedding.

Resort consists of a 20 unit motel, 17 cabins, and RV campground with full service and pull through sites available. Located at the base of Folding Mountain near Jasper, Alberta.
We just loved it here everyone very friendly. The park was clean and well maintained. Very close to Hinton and not too far to Jasper. There was a nice restaurant/pub next door. We had a family gathering at the park and they allowed us to use their open grassy area, also provided picnic tables and some canopies. It was perfect for 40 plus people.

This was a trip for my wife's birthday, just needed a disconnect weekend. Fantastic single room cabin, Close to Jasper national park. We were able to bring our puppy, he was so tired at the end of everyday. Special cabins just for pets. There is a brewery on the property, did not make it there this trip. Being able to shut the world out for a few days was refreshing. We will be back.

We are in southern Alberta at a golf tournament and have caught covid… we have called ahead to tell them we will not be coming. Ross creek campground in Medicine Hat were very kind and cancelled our reservation and refunded our money while we are staying there and told us to travel home to take care of our health… but unfortunately DINOSAUR TRAIL RV RESORT is planning on keeping 100% of our 5 day stay… Are you kidding me?? Who does this?? They said we probably just changed our plan and are trying to get out of our registration?? We have stayed there more than once and have enjoyed our stay… We were entered into a tournament at the golf course down the road which we can not play and would have loved to stay and play. We have checked and the campsite has lots of sites available so is this just a way to for them to make income without giving any services?? I am sad that people have ruined this for people who are really sick ? And very disappointed in Dinosaur Trail RV resort and there so called rules, we will be contacting Visa to see if they agree with us, and return our money… charge a fee but really …100% it is not right Because covid is still a big issue… rethink staying or booking at this campsite!!!

Restaurant, motel, cabins and campground located in the foothills of the beautiful Canadian Rockies. Located 15 km west of Sundre and under 2 hrs from Calgary and Edmonton. Year round recreational resort that also offers facilities for conferences, retreats, weddings, family reunions, team building and special events.
We thoroughly enjoy our weekend get away in the motel. Room was quite and cozy. The short walk to the lodge for amazing meals, view of the lake and the sunsets made for enjoyable ends to the day. The Chef, Chris came out each day to chat with us, to confirm our order. We are already planning another visit this summer to their Campground and next winter for the motel.

Sundance Lodges promises a memorable family "comfortable" camping adventure! We are not a hotel or a high end glamping resort. We are a rustic family campground offering you and your family a comfortable camping experience in the Canadian Rockies! Stay with us in an authentic tipi or comfortable trapper's tent or unserviced campsite, surrounded by pristine wilderness and close to the Kananaskis River. Each tipi and trapper’s tent has a wooden floor, wood frame beds with comfy mattresses, kerosene heater, lantern, firepit and picnic table. We’re located in the spectacular Rocky Mountains of Kananaskis Country in Alberta, an hour from Banff or Calgary. Since 1992, we have welcomed families seeking a fun and uniquely Canadian experience. Enjoy friendly staff, free hot showers, washrooms and a coin laundry. The onsite Trading Post sells basic groceries, firewood, ice and gift ware. Bring your own camping gear or rent from us. Nearby, try hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding or rafting; photograph the breathtaking mountains, wildlife and your family adventures. In the evening, relax by the campfire, roast some marshmallows and enjoy the stars. What fun!
We camped in September, booked a trapper tent unit 35. The campground location is great, close to lots of hiking trails. The location of our unit was close to the main building with running water washrooms. The trapper tents have a heater (which they fill everyday), mattress pad and a flashlight/lamp. We had issues lighting our heater the first night but the staff were great and got it started for us. The heater was great, we were having colder than usual weather with snow over night and high winds the heater kept us toasty warm. We stayed 2 nights and unfortunately the heater might have been too welcoming as when we woke up the 2nd night there was a lot of mice poop around the heater. We didn't have any food or anything else that would attract mice, they were only around the heater. It was end of season camping too so not overly surprised, it was very quiet on our side of the campground. Our friends on the other side where there were a few more people didn't have any mice poop in their trapper tent. Other then that the stay was convenient for a mini weekend camping trip without having the pack a tent.

The campground is a 50 site and 10 cabin campground and is family owned and operated. We are located in the centre of the breath-taking Drumheller Valley, nestled under giant Cottonwood trees on the west side of the Rosebud River in Rosedale, just 5 minutes east of the Drumheller town centre. Our clean, modern bathroom facilities feature hot showers and flush toilets, and also a small laundromat. We offer a firepit at every site with firewood available for purchase. Sightseeing opportunities abound in the Drumheller area, and a stay of several days is not unusual. Popular activities in the area include golfing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing and tubing. Interested in dinosaurs or coal mining? Drumheller is the place to be!
Strict rules. Bathrooms are nice and clean but a loonie for every 3 minutes to have a shower, takes 2 to get the water hot, no heat either so you freeze trying to dry off and get dressed. Full service sites are right across from the office, no privacy . We found the guy to be be friendly but she has no customer service skills, we found her rude. Gave us the rules and regulation print out but felt it necessary to tell us to make sure we left our site as we found it. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash at all times and if you don't pick up after your pet you will be charge $300. Kids are allowed but they can't play without adult supervision even at the playground. Right after we(2 senior ladies) set up , the wind came without warning, our gazebo was blowing away, tables were knocked down and things were being broken. We tried our best to get things under control but the wind was too strong, all while the owners sat in their office and watched us struggle, thank goodness a young lady who was passing by stopped to help us. Oh and of course the fire pit, you can have a fire but can only buy the wood from the campground so if you prepared ahead and took your own wood you could not use it. Cabins aren't really cabins as you would think, they're sleeping quarters only, just beds, no kitchen or bathroom. Overall a big dissapointment and we will never return.

We spent a heat wave Canada Day weekend here and enjoyed our stay. There was lots of room for our trailer and had power water and sewer! We noticed there are several people who must rent for the summer because they had nice decks and gazebos. The A loop 1-16 even have access to the beach. We were near the playground and had a full stand of trees to protect us from the setting sun. Many people had boats and enjoyed the lake. There was a little roped off area in the water to help keep kids safe. The grumpy staff member mentioned last year was not there. The staff were friendly. There was a line up for the soft ice cream cones at the store. We will come again next year. BTW the museum in Plamondon is very well done. They have a 1920 Ford truck and a beautiful sleigh with velvet seats.

There was a dead battery issue with the smoke-detector: the man from the front desk had it taken care of almost instantly. The room was everything you would expect from a hotel/motel room. Average to very good on cleanliness. Wi Fi signal and bandwidth were amazing, may not be so when the place is busier but worked very well for me! I would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone.
