A family run hotel in the Georgian town of Whitehaven in the Western Lake District.
We came to whitehaven to visit my brother, I would recommend not to stay there, it was so run down, the staff was so slow, our room was not cleaned in our stay, we had a wall for a view from our window. You had to order your breakfast the day before.rooms were so old and dated,

The Mansion is a long established dog friendly guesthouse on the edge of Whitehaven. We have many facilities at The Mansion some you might only expect from bigger hotels starting with our indoor heated pool, sauna box and hot tub. There are kitchen facilities and fridges allowing guests to self cater if they wish. We have ensuite rooms all with TV and free, newly installed, business class Wi-Fi, we also have twin and family rooms. Other benefits are our large well lit car park and cycle store if you are doing the C2C, being next to the coast we have some spectacular walks only 5 minutes walk from the door, the popular St Bees beach is only 10 minutes away by car and we are dog friendly so your pooch can come too.
We were greeted and shown around the house and the facilities as soon as we arrived. The room were clean and well kept, comfy bed and plenty of teas, coffees etc and a place to fill up again if you run out during your stay. Breakfast was lovely, with a full English and other things available. A fabulous place to stay!

Grade I listed circa 16th historical building, now open as an award winning country guesthouse (5 stars + Gold Award). Delightful guest and reception rooms. Sumptuous four poster rooms with hydro massage power shower & steam enclosure or Jacuzzi bath + TileVision colour TV en-suite. Walled gardens / private parking. Hearty breakfasts and imaginative dinners (fully licensed) using predominately Cumbrian free range produce. Conferences, celebrations and licensed venue for small weddings.
This is a lovely place to stay, immaculate. The only negative was the room we were in you had to walk up quite a few steps to get to so anyone with a disability would struggle. Breakfast was great and staff.

This bed and breakfast is exceptional. The owners Leisa and Dave worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was amazing and so fresh. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Whitehaven. Location was great - easy walk to town and the harbour area with some good places to eat/drink. Great walks too and fabulous coastal scenery.

I regularly stay at this accommodation whenever I am working in West Cumbria. I won’t bother listing all of the attributes as it hits 5 out of 5 in all categories! You could pay far more and get far less with certain other accommodation in the area. A real home away from home. Excellent.

We spent 3 nights here in September 2021 and had a lovely time. Andy is a very welcoming host and our room (5) had a wonderful view of the Irish Sea and the surrounding landscape. The B&B is situated in farmland but is only a 5 minute drive from the centre of Whitehaven. The breakfast (served by the lovely Janet) was great and there was a good selection of food. When we go back to Whitehaven we'll definitely be staying at Croft Hill again.

These include the window shutters, high ceilings and moulded cornices. The house also boasts an elegant spiral staircase climbing two storeys finished with a domed ceiling and glass dome roof Following extensive refurbishment Tivoli Guesthouse now offers you quality accommodation on the doorstep of Whitehaven and the Cumbrian fells. I had a lovely stay at Tivoli guest house...the hosts Andy and Maureen are true gems and nothing is to much trouble to make one's stay welcoming and special. A truly wonderful breakfast starts the day ? I was given a free parking permit for my stay and parking in Whitehaven is plentiful and a 24 hours ticket only costs £5. The West Cumbrian folk are so very friendly and helpful... I'll be back
