Villa Gjeçaj is a gem located in the heart of Thethi National Park, famous for its beauty, only 250 meters from the village center. Amongst the peace and tranquility of the surroundings, the fresh air, and pristine beauty where nature reveals its stunning elegance, you have the chance to enjoy a traditional kitchen with homemade food and comfortable rooms to embrace yourself. We decide to return with 5 rooms in 2022 after two years of total closure due to Covid-19 and one year before that during 2019 that the business was given on rent to other people. We are really sorry for the missing service and bad reviews about this year (2019). We are implementing a few reconstructions to the building with a chalet style with five contemporary furnished rooms. Most rooms feature a balcony with a valley view. Double and junior suite rooms suitable for couples or small families with modern farmhouse decor. The rooms feature plenty of natural materials and wood, as well as breathtaking views of the valley, of the nearby mountains, and with the river’s sound in the background.

Lovely mountain guesthouse with all modern amenities The Marashi-Guesthouse is a cozy, two stories guesthouse in the dreamlike valley of Theth. If offers all amenities of a modern house, comfortable beds, warm water and internet access (if needed), but has the charme and atmosphere of a mountain house. It's perfectly embedded in a stony and in the meantime very green area, right next to the Theth river. We serve our guest home-style cooking, made of organic vegetables, grown in our own yard. Guest also have the possibility to build their tents in our yard and sleep under the amazing skies, surrounded by the astonishing Albanian Alps, and can listen to the sounds of the flowing river. We promise, that sound is magic! You can reach many interesting hotspots in nearby, like the famous Blue-Eye (Syri i kaltër), the Bathtubs or the Theth Waterfalls. The Guesthouse can also be used as a starting point to many different hiking trips in the area.

Welcome to the Bujtina Polia of Pavlin Nard Polia and family! We live in the center of the small mountain village of Theth, in the heart of the Albanian Alps. We are looking forward to introducing you to the warm hospitality, hearty cuisine and breathtaking scenery this region is famous for! Our traditional stone house has 10 bedrooms The rooms are located on the first and second floors and offer beautiful views to all sides of the valley. On the ground floor we have a large dining room where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Also, there is a terrace in front of the house for sitting, chatting and taking meals outside. If you require any additional services, we can organise guiding, transport or horse rental (for horse riding or luggage transfer). On top of that, we are happy to give advice about hiking trails and destinations. We are located right in the center of Theth, just next to the church of the village, which makes for an ideal base for exploring the village and actually most of the hikes that can be done in the area. The kulla (blood feud tower), old corn mill and neighbourhood of Ulaj are in close promixity. Furthermore, a leisurely 40 minutes to the South you can explore the Grunasi waterfall and canyon. The trailhead for the transfer hike to Valbona is located 10 minutes walking time to the North from here. Our guesthouse is located about 100m from the church, which is in Theth's center ("Qender"). If coming from Shkoder, follow the road that leads into the village until you cross the bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right and follow the road, to your left you will see the school, a large red building. 500m from there you will arrive at a junction where you will need to keep left. The road makes a bend to the right and goes a little uphill - you will already see the church now. Once at the church, keep right. Our house is the one with the dark red/burgundy roof. Arriving from Valbona via Valbona Pass, follow the signs to the center of Theth, find the school, and follow directions as described above. Driving from Shkoder to Theth is roughly a 75km/3h drive. Take the outward road towards Koplik (SH1) and turn right after 15km at the roundabout where Theth is signposted. Keep following the main road, which will lead you through the villages of Dedaj and Boga and over the Buni i Thores Pass until it takes you down to Shala commune and to the village of Theth. Please note that the road from Boga onwards is only accessible for off-road, high-clearance vehicles! If you're using public transport, there are daily minibuses from Shkoder to Theth, which leave at the Sheshi Ura e Maxharrit at the Northern end of Shkoder. They depart between 6am and 8am, so be sure to be there early. For any problems with finding places: For the whole of Albania, directions might not be available in the most organised way, but any person on the street will be happy to assist you with finding your way - don't hesitate to ask!
