The Lonely Planets pick for Thames. Nestled high in the hills above Thames, Grafton Cottage and Chalets is in a excluded, peaceful tree-lined setting far from any traffic noise. At the end of each day exploring the Coromandel, relax in the spa, or simply laze by the pool overlooking the sea. BBQ your dinner while watching the sun set over the sea or sample the local restaurants. We offer self contained chalet accommodation in individually designed studio, 1 and 2 bedroom cedar chalets. A delicious full continental breakfast (Grafton Cottage style), on site staff and daily housekeeping is included in the room rate.
Rooms were clean and quiet with amazing views of the ocean. Our host was very helpful and friendly. Loved the complimentary liqueur and the breakfast was good. BBQ, spa and pool were all very enjoyable, especially in the hot, hot weather. My only feedback would be that the pool needs a bit more filtering at times. Would stay again - great Pacifica vibe.

The units to stay in are very nice and well equipped. Just a small walk to the ocean so you get nice sounds to sleep to. The people that run the place are very nice and very good at they're job. Will definitely be going back with our baby next time to have a family holiday

The Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast and has a Historic Places Category 2 listing. Guests can stay a night or two (or longer) in this charming 152 year old building that has been lovingly renovated into very comfortable accommodation. The layout of the building remains much as it was in 1868, with bedrooms and guest bathroom upstairs and the bar (now guest lounge) and dining room downstairs.
Perfect place to stay after a day's cycling. Welcomed by Stu and Barbara with a short tour of the house, and offered a complimentary glass of wine and cheese board - lovely! Secure space for the bikes and Stu kindly charged the batteries in his shed. Super comfy beds and rooms are clean and well maintained. Lovely breakfast in the morning which set us up for our day's biking. Thank you for the stay!

Cotswold Cottage is a historic 1920 villa just one hour from Auckland airport. Gorgeous views of the river, mountains, valley and the sea in the distance. Complimentary afternoon tea on arrival. Continental and cooked breakfast. Free wifi. Spa pool and guest BBQ. Guest rooms all have private access opening on to a sunny terrace. Toiletries, hair drier, bath towels, TV, electric blankets, heater, tea and coffee making facilities in each room. Dinner can be provided by prior arrangement. Well situated for a quick trip from Auckland airport, and driving around the Coromandel Peninsula - close to Bay of Plenty and Rotorua.
This B&B is excellent with very nice rooms, a separate guest lounge, and friendly helpful hosts. We had an unexpected afternoon tea and the breakfast was all you could want. I have 3 detailed things I look for in a room: sufficient luggage racks, sufficient shelf space by the bathroom basin, and bedside lights that are actually good to read by. All of these were well met along with really good bed linen and plenty of space. It was all good and highly recommended.

Delicious complimentary breakfast included with accommodation. In-house beauty treatments. Eco-friendly environment with free range eggs, fruit trees and homegrown vegetables. Tudor style architecture. Magnificent sunsets, panoramic views and rural outlook from the highest point. Private, peaceful, relaxing setting. Enticing and secluded pool. Free broadband and wireless, library in guest lounge. Laundry facilities inclusive. Pauline and Dennis are welcoming hosts.
We had one night in Chartre Manor on our way home from northland. We chose this B and B after reading many excellent reviews. We couldn’t fault it. Pauline and Dennis are exceptional hosts. We were welcomed with a beautiful afternoon tea and given a good recommendation for dinner at the Junction Hotel where we received a complimentary drink because we were staying at Chartre Manor. Plentiful fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt etc for breakfast as well as a very good cooked breakfast. There were many extra little touches - chocolates after dinner, torch by the bed. We highly recommend this B and B.
