Traditional family owned country house hotel, pub & restaurant tucked away near Thornhill just outside Stirling, serving the finest food & ale since 1635. For the homely touch, we have 3 log burning fires, including a huge open fireplace in one of the dining rooms. The accommodation upstairs is of an excellent standard and the views from the windows capture the essence of being in the heart of Scotland with the magnificent scenery on its doorstep. The Lion and Unicorn is the perfect place to spend a few days soaking up the true Scottish hospitality that we all want to discover. Full of friendly locals, it is one of the few Free Houses left in Scotland, with reasonable prices on beer.
Wonderful 17th Century inn located in a picturesque village about 10 miles outside Stirling. We had a very warm welcome on arrival, room was cozy, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We requested haggis in place of black pudding and were accommodated without issue as it should be in Scotland ? Location is ideal for visiting Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are within easy striking distance, as are the Grampians. Great value for money and we will definitely return, hopefully soon.

Stuart Wilson extends a warm, friendly welcome to all guests, whether you are in Stirling for business or pleasure. Ravenswood is a Victorian House which has been modernised and now offers bed and breakfast in comfortable surroundings. The Guest House is located close to the city centre/train station (5 minute car/bus journey or 15 / 20 minute walk).
Stuart is an excellent host. He has a great knowledge of the area and lots of good tips. He communicated promptly and was extremely accommodating. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the food delicious. Be sure to have the brown bread - Stuart makes it himself. We had an upstairs room at the front of the house and didn't notice the road noise. We would definitely stay here again.

A famous old Stirling hotel that has benefitted from an ambitious £1million refurb and renovation, which has turned it into the city’s premier pub, restaurant and coffee house.
The room we had for the night was well appointed and very comfortable. Great price and came with breakfast included which was scrumptious. We had booked in for dinner and I can’t fault any of the dishes for taste and presentation. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. This place will be our go-to venue for our future visits to Stirling.

Stopped for food in the passing, service was fine, my dad and partner enjoyed theirs, I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, quality was Poor no cheese as described on the menu, the romain lettuce was questionable, and the chicken was absolutely horrendous and looked mouldy inside, due to not having time to reorder, I picked the chicken off and ate the “salad” when paying the bill my partner questioned why we’d been charged for food that was inedible and which the waitress replied, it was ate in quite an abrupt manor, fair enough I get that but charging full price for poor quality food that was partly inedible seemed a bit unfair, sadly we won’t be returning when me visit family in that area again before the long drive home

Beautiful, huge house with very spacious rooms and bathrooms, and a great, comfortable common sitting area. Breakfast was excellent in quality and quantity. Hannah is a superb host and really can't do enough for her guests. The grounds around the house are so expansive, but we were unable to take advantage of rambling around... this time. We would love to return and have a much more relaxed time to spend here.

I recently stayed here and the staff are a great team. Nothing was too much trouble and messages were passed between the difefrent shifts which meant that my trip was totally hassle free. It's not often that you see this level of service. The rooms were spacious and very clean, restaurant food was of great quality and well prepared. Highly recommend this place, close to amenities to explore the city and transport links

Looked for a b&b in the outskirts of Stirling to get quickly back to Edinburgh the day after. Found this little b&b, pictures looked good and rating on Booking.com was a 9. But when we got there and got inside the house, we couldn’t wait for the night to be over. The smell in the house was disgusting, it was a bit better in our room - but still not pleasant. The smell is stuck in the walls/the carpet, so a refurbish is needed ö. They offered breakfast for 10£ extra per person, but we declined and got out as quickly as we could. Price for the room was 75£ through Booking.com and was fine although i wouldn’t pay it if I knew about the smell.

Hillhead Farm Lets provide six luxury rooms which have been converted from a traditional Scottish farm steading in June 2010. The rooms have been finished to a very high standard and are set around a traditional Scottish cottage garden with panoramic views towards Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and the Field of Bannockburn. Our rooms have free hi speed wifi internet. We are located in the countryside close to the historical town of Bannockburn, within walking distance of the Bannockburn Battlefield site where Robert the Bruce defeated the English armies in 1314.
I wanted to ask a couple of questions before I booked so thought I would give them a call. A guy answered hello, I asked a question about the guesthouse. The guy put the phone down on me. When I rang again it went straight to voicemail the landline and the so called mobile. I don’t care how cheap they are, with an attitude like that. They can stuff the booking. I had every intention of making a booking but that attitude and the negative reviews on here made me change my mind. If they can’t be bothered to answer politely and just have an I don’t care attitude. Don’t run a guesthouse. So rude and definitely not needed. Glad I read the reviews before I made the mistake of staying there.
