Deep in the heart of Coorg's verdant hills, is an experience waiting to enchant you with the unbridled magic of the Western Ghats. Picture this, lungfuls of clear forest air. Green, so lush that it awakens the dormant poet in you. Space that makes you feel like yourself again. And then a surprise waterfall that turns your heart into a gleeful child. Ayatana offers 50 well-appointed rooms, each offering a spectacular show of Coorg's dreamy scapes. The morning mist unravels to awaken you to the birdsong and forest dialogue. Our restaurant fills the soul with views of a gregarious river, while our chefs prove a worthy gastronomic match to the view. With a resplendent nature that seems to embrace from all directions, a stay at WelcomHeritage Ayatana will be nothing short of enriching the mind, body and soul.

Home Stay in Somwarpet, Coorg. Calm locality. Each room has independent balcony, cash locker, LCD TV, refrigerator and 24 hr hot water. Just 1 km from town. Campfire and estate visit.
Our weekend getaway from Bangalore was in this homestay in Somwarpet. It is a very good place to relax. We opted for the penthouse and the view , amenities etc were excellent. The hosts are very very hospitable and food was the icing on the cake. Amazing home food. Everything they served was excellent. Very reasonably priced and just the place to unwind and relax. Would definitely come back again.

Athena Homestay is situated amidst nature; we are just 7 kms away from Mallali Falls & Pushpagiri Hills, one of the prettiest waterfalls & nature view in Coorg. Each room is big enough to accommodate 4 adults and has 2 double beds each. We love to entertain couples, as well as groups. We offer 3 neat and clean rooms with attached bath.
Previous reviews were on dot in terms of most comfortable stay& away from crowded ambience. Our stay in Athena Homestay was very homely with excellent food, specially got to taste traditional veg food served piping hot& heavenly Coorg Coffee served with great care & affection by the host family!!Surrounded by coffee plantation, lake right in front of the house and with amazing water falls within few kilometers. Must not miss both Mallali & Abbey falls! Enjoyed inspite of heavy rains! But would suggest to prepare well with raincoats not umbrella's( it flew away!!)& proper shoes etc. Choose the best season if u want to spend more time leisurely

Coorg [Gowrikere homestay] is a lovely hill station in the western ghats in the state of Karnataka, India. It occupies about 4,100 square kilometers of land and also known as the Scotland of India. It is truly a nature lover's paradise with towery mountain, water falls and green forest. The most common plantation crops are coffee, orange, pepper and cardamom.
The homestay is located in a beautiful setting next to a lake and hillock. A simple and elegant place with no frills but a host who is willing to provide the little extra to make your stay memorable. The home cooked food is delicious and catered to your needs. Prajwal and Prateek the hosts are well informed about the area and offered tips for our sight seeing. a nice place to chill out with family and friends very close to nature. all the rooms have 3-4 beds enough for a family to stay and the prices are reasonable. nice to go for a walk around the place and explore the lake and its surroundings.

An ecofriendly homestay in the heart of western ghats in Coorg district, wrapped in lush green abundance of coffee plantations. Coorg is a hill station along the higher slopes of the western ghats biosphere. The home stay houses 3 spacious high class rooms which can accommodate 2 to 4 persons comfortably with excellent toilette amenities. We serve delicious homemade veg and non veg Coorg delicacies.
I would say one of the best experiences from recent past, cleanliness, hospitality, taste of food, variety and more ever the warmth offered by both Hemanth and Vipula, it's unmatchable, place situated at the best spot, serenity at best. Like to visit again and again...

If you like a calm, peaceful place amidst greenery around & view of mountains, this will be a place you can plan to stay. Spacious rooms with big sit out area for you to relax. We were 10 people took 2 of the 3 rooms (They have 3 rooms of different size). There is ample space for kids to play / camp fire etc. You can take walk inside the estate (though we did not, because lots of leeches inside the plantation) and you can go around the locality for morning walks. Food was very good (Coorg style food), prepared at home by the owner. She asked promptly 2 days before our stay about what menu we want and prepared accordingly. She informed well in advance that we need to be prepared with stuff (medicines etc) what we need because there are practically no shops nearby (we went with kids). As such Somwarpet area has many tourist places nearby, less known and hence less crowd. The home owners in fact gave us route info to reach places, which are not in Google Map. They were quite helpful and friendly. The highlight was the "Un-nammed" view point which he took us in his Jeep. It was amazing to see the entire region (Kote Betta, Harangi Back waters etc) from there & gradually being engulfed in Rain. Quick Pointers ... - If you are going in rainy season, be prepared to see leeches. Anywhere (falls, stream ...) you get off the road, there are leeches. - Its away from the town (I would say its an advantage). So plan your travel accordingly. - The Google Map shows long route to reach this place. Ask the owner when you are going, they will tell you the routes which normally not shown in Google Map.
