It’s been 200 years or so since he lived here, but Mozart is still very much Salzburg’s favorite son. Visit the composer’s residence and birthplace, then explore the Altstadt (Old City), taking in the baroque architecture. If your musical tastes run more "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" than "Requiem in D Minor," catch one of the many Sound of Music tours and follow in the footsteps of the Von Trapps.

Our guesthouse is located in the heart of Salzburg on the right side of the river Salzach in a beautiful baroque building. All of our rooms are located toward either the Makartplatz, where also the State Theatre and the Mozart Residence are located or the Priesterhausgasse, a pedestrian street with excellent restaurants and bars. In our guesthouse two common areas and our beautiful inner yard welcome our guests to linger and relax. All of our rooms are simply furnished and do not have a TV. They all have a private bathroom with shower and WC. Free wifi is available in all rooms and throughout the building. Due to our central location with the Mozart Residence just outside and the Mirabell Castle and Gardens next door all main attractions are in walking distance.
Excellent. Very clean, with friendly staff and a great location. It’s quite cool to be staying above such a beautiful church! Also really close to bus stops for travel to and from the bus station with luggage. Breakfasts were also fresh and plentiful.

Very clean. Very comfortable. We had a triple for 3 adults (one queen bed & one twin) & we found it to be just as pictured. Nice bathroom & good personal products provided. PLENTY of storage for clothes. Small elevator available. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly, kind & helpful. We did not buy the breakfast. Great location, short stroll to all the sights. Quiet location at night. Twice we enjoyed delicious meals at Zwettler's Restaurant a few doors away. The only thing I would ask them to change is to provide coffee & tea service in the common room. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely stay here again!

Villa Verde is a great place to stay. Alex provides an awesome breakfast which is good way to kick off the day. The Villa is centrally located and just a short walk to the historic centre of town. I also liked the vibe, the team had really thought through how they would reduce the impact of the hotel (ie little plastic etc) which was inspiring for me!

The Hotel Krone 1512 is located in a historic building, which has been renovated recently in large part, in the old town of Salzburg. The boutique hotel ties in with the long tradition of the house and offers great service. The style of the 23 rooms can be described as “from smart luxury to easy living”. The individual furnished rooms contain suites with partly free-standing bathtub, fancy boutique-rooms and cozy standard rooms. Additionally you can rent 2 apartments; one of them is for sure the trendiest apartment of Salzburg. Niko‘s special breakfast, WIFI & iPads, 24h coffee & tea, your private city garden, easy check out and a DVD selection are offered free of charge. 120 restaurants, four of them are our own, all important sights, numerous museums, hundreds of shops and the unique atmosphere of the historic town are located close by. A public underground car park is only a few minutes away.
Lovely hotel in a great area to wonder and dine in. Staff were helpful with bus details when we needed it. We had access to a little patio that we used one evening to enjoy a pizza take out from a local restaurant and chilled wine bought down the street. Comfortable and clean.

I have really struggled with this review. I had a number of pros and cons with Salzburg Arenburg Haus. On balance, I would say that I would not choose to stay here again. First, the pros: The location is was very good for us. It is quiet and away from the traffic. Pretty long hill to walk down to the road, but manageable (about 15 minutes). The wifi is good, and there are plenty of plugs in the room. Our room had a combo shower/bath, which was nice. The price was very reasonable. We made our reservations about three months in advance, when no one was traveling to Europe…It turned out that we were there during the Salzburg Music Festival, and I think the prices for our same room were doubled by the time we arrived. Not sure if that had anything to do with our experience. My first couple of impressions were: (1) I had made a reservation 3 months earlier, when Europe wasn’t even open to tourists, and specifically requested a room with a balcony. Instead, we got a lower level room with no view at all. (There is a picture on this review page with sliding glass doors; we had nothing of the kind.) It was a nice size (king + twin bed; no sofa; two chairs with a small coffee table; decent sized bathroom), but pretty simple and a little worn. (2) No air conditioning! I know lots of places in Europe aren’t air conditioned and tried to make it a point to check; however, I (my own fault) had several hotels to book, and I missed this one. Just want to be sure others are aware in case this is important to you. There really are no views from this hotel at all that I could see. We don’t spend much time in the room, so that doesn’t matter too much…but I guess I expected there would be something. Also, when we came into the room, it smelled to me the way nursing homes used to smell. And when I took my shoes off, I realized the carpet was damp. Perhaps there is extra disinfecting going on due to COVID, or the room had been closed up for a while due to COVID. But again, not what I was expecting given the 4-1/2* reviews on TripAdvisor. (Not that I ever expect to have wet carpet in a hotel room.) With the lack of air conditioning, came the need to open the windows. (Temps ranged from low 60’s at night to over 80 in the daytime.) Pro: There were screens on the windows. Con: The windows opened into the room, about 24”. Each of the two was split vertically in the middle; the two sides swung out, so there were 4 windows opening into the room, from 4-6’ feet high. I was on the side of the bed closest to the windows, so that meant I either closed the windows, or took the chance of walking into the windows, which extended to just even with my side of the bed. I hit my head on them twice during my stay. Water: The first night, it was fine. The second night, we literally had nothing but hot water (both shower and sink). My husband found a valve by the toilet, which could be flipped to change it to nothing but cold water; but there was no way to have both hot and cold, or warm. It was the strangest thing I’ve ever seen. The bathroom has a pedestal sink, literally no space for curling iron, hairbrushes, etc. It was truly a B&B. The couple who owned/ran it were so nice, I hate giving it a bad review. I’m not sure if we just had an off experience, or if others rated it higher out of consideration for the owners. Or, maybe this is the just standard hotel in Salzburg? I can’t say I saw better alternatives when I was looking. It’s a small town, and maybe this is just what you get there. Needless to say, I was underwhelmed. Most small places let you pick your room, or at least room type (pay more for a balcony, for example), but here you just pay your money and take your chances. Did not work out well. I guess I would say, I like the hotel, but disliked the room a lot.

Hotel Trumer Stube is located right in the heart of Salzburg’s old town. Walk through the historical center, enjoy coffee in one of the wonderful coffee houses nearby, see all attractions within just a few steps.Salzburg is historical and modern, calm and busy, romantic and fancy. And so are we. Located in a house of the year 1869, in a relaxed, but busy area and aswell so small and cosy. Coming for an adventurous vacation or just for a short stay, Hotel Trumer Stube is the perfect spot for you. We are central, we are near everything and we are cosy. Staying at our hotel makes you feel the pulse of the city and the charming way of Austria at the same time. We inspire you to examine the local spots for art, history, music, culture and for the typical „Austrian Gemütlichkeit“.
The Cityhotel is conveniently located in the city centre of Salzburg - 5 mins by cab from the train station, and in a beautiful and quiet part of the old town. We stayed in one of the larger double bedrooms and were impressed with the amenities offered in a 3-star hotel. The room was very clean and cosy; there was a bottle of water and a fridge, plus a really convenient gadget to support your stay in Salzburg - essentially a smartphone with free guides and tours that you can take with you when exploring the city. Haven't come across such an offering before but thought this was a really smart idea! The hotel is quiet, the beds are amazingly comfortable and we were able to order our breakfast to the room the day before, which felt very safe in times of COVID. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of bread, some cake and pastries, as well as yoghurt and fruits accompanied by your choice of coffee or tea. For those that like to really splash on their morning coffees, you have your personal Nespresso machine in the room to top-up on that lovely caffeine! Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating - thanks again to team Trumer Stube, we had a wonderful stay!

If relaxing in a familial atmosphere, genuine hospitality and a cosy setting are just as important to you as they are to us, then you have come to the right place! Our optimal location on the edge of Salzburg’s Old Town as well as the nearby greenbelt makes our B&B the ideal starting point, whether you’re off on a rambling city tour with cultural activities or you prefer excursions in the surrounding area. Our homey and family-run bed and breakfast is located on the southern edge of the Old Town in Nonntal, one of the most beautiful and greenest neighbourhoods in Salzburg. It’s just a 10-minute (1-km) walk from Pension Katrin to the pedestrian zone in the city centre. Enjoy the short stroll through historic Nonntal as you head toward the City of Mozart’s main attractions. We have ten rooms – all situated on the first and second floors (no elevator). They are tastefully decorated with high-quality fabrics and carpeting and handcrafted furniture to ensure a homely atmosphere.
We originally wanted to stay in the city to be close to everything without having to use our car. However, we knew driving in the city and parking would be difficult so we searched for a place nearby with parking and easy access to see the Lake District. The Pension Katrine was simply perfect for everything we wanted. First, the location is great. You can easily walk into the historic section of Salzburg. It takes less than 30 minutes and is a flat stroll through safe neighborhoods. There is also a bus stop just down the street which is extremely easy to access for a quick trip to the historic section. There is also a fabulous Italian restaurant down the street within a 5 minute walk. If you have a car, getting in and out of town to see the surrounding countryside is not difficult at all and is much easier than trying to get in and out of the historic center. From the Pension Katrine you don't have to negotiate crowds of tourists or narrow streets. Also, there are 3 FREE parking spots right inside the Pension Katrine courtyard. If those are taken, there is plenty of parking on the street. Second, the pension is spotless. Our room was large and overlooked the street. We were there in late October so the weather was cool and rainy. Had it been hot, the pension provides a floor fan to help cool the air. The snacks in the room are very reasonably priced. We normally don't eat the over-priced items provided by most hotels. But we did indulge at the Pension Katrine because the prices were inexpensive and the snacks were tempting. Third, breakfast was a lovely buffet with homemade cakes and an assortment of cheeses and meats. We found the hostess to be affable and efficient and available. We were thrilled to find this place and plan to stay again when we are in Salzburg. Location, cleanliness, value, and comfort...this place ticks all of the boxes for us.

If you’re looking for a quaint guest house in Salzburg, look no further than Gasthaus Hinterbruehl. For those interested in checking out popular landmarks while visiting Salzburg, Gasthaus Hinterbruehl is located a short distance from Salzburg Cathedral (Dom) (0.3 mi) and St. Peter's Abbey (Stift St. Peter) (0.3 mi). You can take advantage of some of the amenities offered by Hinterbruhl Hotel, including express check-in and check-out and baggage storage. As an added convenience, there is paid public parking available nearby. While in Salzburg be sure to experience local surf and turf favorites at IMLAUER Sky - Bar & Restaurant. Plus, during your trip, don't forget to check out an ancient ruins, such as Catacombe Del Cimitero Di San Pietro. The staff at Gasthaus Hinterbruehl looks forward to serving you during your upcoming visit.
This place is reachable by bus (a few stops away) from the main train station. I booked the double room with shared bathroom. Both room and shared bathroom are clean and towels are provided. There is no lift in the building. There is no aircon but it feels ok as we left the window opened. Check-in is only till 8pm, which might be an issue if you are arriving late, or had a flight delay. I text the accomodation that I will be arriving late as my flight was delayed at the last minute. Someone waited for me till 9pm. As mentioned by other reviewers, most attractions are within walking distance. When we checked out, we checked with the lady who is cleaning up the rooms if we can leave the luggage with them for half a day and she allowed us to leave them inside till 12noon. Our room was on the 3rd floor and it was slightly noisy on a Friday night. Overall, it was a good place to stay for the price. No comment for the restaurant as I did not eat there.

A very good place to stay, especially when you travel by car. The parking has plenty of spaces and is free, as well as the bicycles you can use. You can cycle to the centre of Salzburg in 10 minutes, and within half an hour you are at castle Hellbrunn outside the city centre. The hotel has a popular shaded terrace where you can have a choice of fine food and wine. At night it was very quiet for a good night of sleep. I recommend to stay here and would like to come back one day.
