Bed and Breakfast near St. Jacobs, Elora, Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph
My husband and I took a road trip to Elora, ON. We decided to stay at this place due to the fact that Maryhill Inn had a pet-friendly policy, and we had a very well-behaved, calm and sweet medium-sized German Shepherd that we didn't want to leave alone / with a dog-sitter. He had just been rescued and we felt like it would be too early for us to leave him away from us. To our surprise, turns out that Maryhill Inn was not only great due to it's dog-friendly policy, but actually the whole experience was nothing short of phenomenal. There is a very warm, wholesome, cozy and friendly vibe in the whole place. The owners, a wonderful and very welcoming couple, has definitely put their heart onto their Inn, and their attention to detail and the love with which they manage the venue is visible in every little detail. When we arrived, for instance, we were a bit concerned about how we'd be received due to our dog coming with us in the trip - even though some hotels say they are "dog-friendly" there is sometimes a harsh/cold reception once they realized you brought your four-legged friend with you. But, nope. Much on the contrary, the hosts were incredible, they genuinely loved to meet our fur-baby, they gave him treats in the morning, they even cooked a special meal/breakfast just for him, our little dog. We couldn't have felt more embraced, and, dare I say, "loved" than what we experienced. We wish them all the luck in the world in their endeavours. And we wholeheartedly recommend Maryhill Inn for anyone passing through the area. Oh, and if you're going to Elora, don't think twice about booking for a stay here - it is not too far away at all, it's just a short, pleasant drive from here to the heart of Elora. And I guarantee, these hosts and their charming, beautifully restored inn will share the same passion, vibe and heartfelt feeling that one may encounter whilst strolling through Elora. Don't think twice, book your stay at this wonderful, welcoming Inn.

Puddicombe House, An Ontario's Finest Inn and Spa featuring elegant accommodation in downtown historic New Hamburg. Six B & B rooms feature en-suites, most with Jacuzzi tubs, King, Queen and Twin options, flat screen TVs and fireplaces. Full-service restaurant, spa and hair salon. Unique shopping just outside our door property is located a short 20 minute drive (22km) to the Stratford Festival Theatre, and a 20-25 minute drive to St Jacobs.
I rate this only a 3/5 due to cost vs the room and amenities of the place. It’s a very cute building, dinner and breakfast were fantastic, but the price we paid did not meet the amenities of the room. We were upgraded to a room that was very small with no fridge other than a communal fridge in the hall (during Covid) which is not even really an option. The room was very dusty and it seemed to lack charm for the price paid. We had to beg the dining room for wine glasses which were not included in the room. Very busy spot and for the most part the staff were pleasant. Not sure we would be back to stay overnight unless the price decreased.

Our Carpenter's Chamber has 1-queen bed, our Postmaster's Chamber has 2-twin beds and our Cook's Chamber has 1-queen bed. We can also make up The Carpenter and Postmaster Chambers with an extra cot for a third individual. All our rooms have their own private bathroom, and all our guests are served a full breakfast each morning of their stay, catering in special need and diets.
Very good choice in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. A very pretty room. Located in a nice quiet village but very close to Waterloo. Great breakfast. Free Parking. We reserve by phone at the last minute without any problem.

Who wouldn't want to stay in a beautiful character home with spacious rooms and the clip clop sound of horse-drawn carriages passing? Rooms are clean and each have their own bathroom. The breakfast is self-serve which I prefer to a huge production. The host is delightful, and we had a wonderful visit with another couple who was staying at the inn.

The self check-in process didn't work for our August 2019 stay. Neither our access code or key fob worked on appropriate doors, and another guest was having the same issue. Because we arrived on a weekend, the office was closed. The college's student rep didn't seem to believe that we had followed instructions correctly until they tried the door with their own fob and code and also couldn't get in. We then had to follow the rep while they looked for doors that would accept their key fob. The college apologized several days later but would not offer a discount on this booking. This part of the campus seems remote, and you will need to use your own phone to call for assistance, so if you are travelling alone or arriving at night you may wish to stay elsewhere.
