Seaside hotel 5*

Reviewed By dtristant

We booked this hotel a couple of months and chose a bigger room w/half board Room was super spacious and a view to die for. Dinner is set and dishes were excellent, drinks can be on the expensive, nevertheless we pick a Heda port special hot sake 1000 yen to share. Onsen was good and advisable to drive to hotel as there isn’t anything open nearby, so dinner included is strongly advised. Whisky is free at the lobby, wifi only available at lobby and nowhere else, which we find it weird. Overall a pleasant stay, good service all around from the hotel staff, hotel is situated off the beaten track and long and winding road to reach it. Have fun and enjoy your stay in Izu Peninsula

Best stay we've had in Japan

Reviewed By Jay X

We've been in Japan 3 times now all over the country staying mostly in Ryokans, Minshukus, and sometimes western hotels. I have to say from all aspects this was by far the best ryokan I've ever stayed at. For starters, the service was impeccable. From the minute you walk in to the minute you wave farewell, you feel taken care of and appreciated. The hotel was kind enough to offer us a shuttle from the train station to the grounds (which is quite a ways). Checkin was a breeze and kind old ladies quickly scooped up our luggage and got us settled in our rooms. Dinner and breakfast was served in the rooms, which were comfortable, and spacious enough for the four of us to do some board games before bed time. For food, we had a delicious kaiseki style dinner with uniquely regional dishes and a enormous and tasty breakfast. The hotel's hotsprings were definitely a highlight. Plus, they had free drinks in the fridge afterwards! I've seen some luxury hotels nickle and diming on chilled waters. Nearby, there was also a small cultural amusement park which had an interesting shadow puppet show. All in all, we had a great time here and I would definitely take my family back.

Good sunset view

Reviewed By RaymondL23

This is a average onsen hotel with a good sunset view facing Mount Fuji. The dinner highlight is the spider crab. Fresh and tasty. Some rooms have a private onsen facing the sea, that is, facing the sunset. Those rooms with no onsen have a small shower area. This is a place for the sunset view and spider crab.

Auberge and Spa

Reviewed By Maps802867

Numazu-club is neither Japanese ryokan nor hotel. This is an auberge with spa in Japanese Garden. The modern guest room facing to the pond of the country yard is well designed in flavor of wood. The room of second floor is perfectly western style, but I'd like to recommend to stay at the first floor's room with tatami-room for bed room. You can enjoy a dinner in the old original Japanese housings surrounded by Japanese garden in natural style. Food is superb! After dining, you can see whole of the Japanese housing including the room used for "SHOGI" master game. It takes only ten minutes walks to Fish Market in where you can see many Sushi bars. The best one is "Futaba-sushi" , if you choose a set of sushi from menu the price is reasonable and not "cheap and nasty".

Reviewed By MarianJ007
