Great competitive rates for Short or Long Term Fully Furnished Fully Serviced Apartments. With Great facilities that allow for fun, relaxation and exercise.
I am the writing my review as apparently it was flagged I guess by them and I never checked my other email that I had posted in to see a message from trip advisor for me to confirm by clicking a link so it was taken down. I had gone to these apartments for the weekend as I needed time to myself. I had been here a couple of times in the past and if I’m being honest it was a great hideaway. I paid for three nights in advance. My first thought when I went back is it didn’t look the same… place is old and outdated. No renovations whatsoever but I didn’t care about that. I wanted to just rest and have a peaceful couple of days by myself. Usually when I go to a place alone I always find myself placing something at the door.. a chair, a table, anything. That night I placed a table. At around 1 am while I was sleeping I had someone open the door and a chair move. I woke up and it took me a couple of seconds for it to register that it was actually at my door someone had tried to open the door and the chair that I placed on the door moved. I started to panic and I quickly called out who it was. I shouted once again who is out there and I said I’m going to call the police I woke up from my bed and opened the window to try and call the security guard. From the position of my room to where the security man was it was impossible for him to hear me. I then tried to call the manager (he told me he was but I later found out he was the accountant and had given me his number because they have dogs and I’m scared of them. I told him while checking in that I have an early appointment the next day and I would need for someone to take me to my car coz of my fear of dogs that’s why he gave me his number and after my appointment I would not leave until I check out), husband, my brother but their phones were all off. I called my stepson and he answered I told him what was going on and he was very scared for me,my husband was away on a work trip. I told him to stay on the phone with me, he asked me if it was possible for me to see if someone had gotten into my room. At that time I was too scared to even peep through the curtains to see if there was anyone who had gotten in the living room. My stepson stayed on the phone with me until 5 am in the morning, As that is the time that the sun rises and that will be a little bit of light coming in through the windows and curtains for me to see clearly. There usually is a phone in every apartment for you to contact the reception but the phone is in the living room not the bedroom so I had no access to it. When it was five I peeped through the curtains and I saw that no one was there, I headed straight for phone and called the reception. The night receptionist came into my room and I explained what happened, I asked if they had cameras in the stairway she said yes they do. I then proceeded to walk out of my room and I noticed that there was a camera right outside my door I asked if I could see the security footage she told me that she wasn’t sure if it was working and she also doesn’t deal with such things and the person who does will be reporting to work at 9 am and asked me if I could be patient to wait until that time, I said ok. I tried to get some sleep but my nerves for not letting me have it so at 8:30 I started to get ready as I had an appointment at 10 am. The shower was cold so I called for someone to come and fix it, I waited for somebody to come and fix the shower for an hour it was almost 10 am the time for my appointment so I decided I will just go for my appointment without showering but I wanted to go downstairs because it was past nine and the person who is in charge of the security footage must have come to work and yet they have not come to my room or called me. It was at this point that I decided to check out and I called the office and ask them for a refund. The manager/accountant who I had spoken to the night before told me over the phone that they don’t do refunds and I asked him why that is so yet I was not going to spend the entire 3 nights there so I was asking for my extra money back. He said it’s because I had blocked them from accepting other businesses. At this point a guy who works there and has worked there for years because I remembered him from when I used to go there long time ago came to my room and asked what was going on and I explained to him in detail what went on and he said he is going to talk to the guy but at the moment he had gone away for lunch but this time it was lunchtime. I then called Safaricom and asked them if I could do a reversal of my transaction since I had paid using a mobile app and I told them I do not want the full amount they can attest to this when it comes to it. I told them I wanted only for the two extra nights and not the entire amount for the three nights after I explained to them why and what had happened to me. The guy who I spoke to on Safaricom really felt sorry for me and he gave me a number that was registered with them and stated was registered as the person who is in charge or it probably could be the owner of the place. He advised me to call the number. When I called the number, I introduced myself and asked if the person I was speaking to is associated to Woodmere. And he asked ms how I got his number I told him Safaricom. He then said “This is bull….” and hang up on me. I was in shock. At around 3pm after sitting there in the room with no help I decided to go downstairs to their offices as I was wondering how it’s possible the person I was waiting for hadn’t come back from lunch. On reaching there I coins someone else and I asked if the guy was back and I was told no. I said ok then in the meantime could I watch the security footage? Because I just wanted to confirm if what had happened to me was true or not. As I was speaking to the guy the person I was waiting for walked in and just arrogantly walked past me. Shortly after I was called into the office by the guy who I had mentioned earlier who has worked there for years. He started explaining what we talked about and told that guy that I was asking for the extra two nights refund and not entire amount and that is when he said ok then we will refund you your money as he had initially thought I wanted a full refund. To be quite honest I was very considerate from the beginning because someone else would’ve demanded for a full refund from the get go. Before leaving the guy who had worked there for years told me that the last time I was there I had caused some problems as well and that I had gone there with a Nigerian guy and that we started shouting or arguing and caused a commotion. I was so shocked by these allegations and asked him if he was sure of what he was saying. I gave him my full names and asked him again. For him to accuse me and defame my character after putting me through all that was really even more painful. I walked out and vowed to never step foot in that place again. The next day in the middle of the night the owner who hang up on me( I confirmed he was) text me and apologised for hanging up on me and said he had thought it was a scammer calling him and I understood but I didn’t respond. Fast forward to yesterday. My 3 yr old niece and 2 year old nephew are visiting me from another city. My friend calls me and tells me she is taking her niece for swimming at Woodmere. And asked me to join her as she knows I also have little ones with me. I said no. I never told her why. I asked her if we could go fo Serena hotel as I am a member at the prestigious club for over ten years now and their pool is also heated and swimming would be free for my niece and nephew. Mind you I could’ve gone to stay at Serena last time but I didn’t because I wanted to be alone and they all know me there and I wouldn’t get the peace I needed. I also could’ve gone fo any other hotel but from what I remembered last time Woodmere was like a little sanctuary so that’s why I went there. She told me since she’s not a member there it wools cost her more and Woodmere for her was ok. I then said I would only go if her and I drop the kids off… I pay for all of them to go swimming and we leave and leave the kids with my sister in law as I didn’t want to hang around there… she says ok. I got there before her and as I walked into the offices I saw the accountant in his office and another guy at the reception. I spoke to him and asked how much swimming was and told him o want fo pay for the two little ones plus an extra kid coming. He said ok. The accountant suddenly walked right fo where I was and asked if I was the one who was there last time regarding the security incident. I said yes. He said unfortunately we can’t offer you any of our services because I wrote a very bad review about them. I said really? Ok. And I walked out. Now the thing is… when I posted the review, usually they say it takes 24 hours for it to be posted. I never saw the notification that it had and I went to my profile on here and didn’t see if posted. I was confused and wondered why it wasn’t. And I thought to myself maybe it’s taking longer this time. From that time till now I have been so preoccupied that I haven’t had time to check if it was posted or not. So today I realised I signed onto this sight on another email and that trip advisor sent me and email stating that my review had been flagged, I guess by Woodmere and trip advisor had given me until September on a particular date to confirm and click on a link to confirm the review or it won’t be posted. The time has run out so it was never posted. I take the blame for that. So here it is once again and this time I will check all my emails. What I went through was traumatising. And how they handled the incident after that was totally unprofessional. Fast forward to yesterday October 10th 2021 and how they still handled that incident was terrible again very unprofessional. The guy was actually even more rude yesterday. I guess because he knew my post was flagged by them and they never saw it on their reviews so he knew it wasn’t there. So they continued to be arrogant and rude. You may read this and think this may not happen to you and I hope it doesn’t bit I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit this place. If a problem arises while stating here they will not handle your issue right. Issues arise at some places when staying there but it is how they handle it that speaks volumes. Also trust me the place looks nothing like the pictures and they need to do major renovations. Quite dusty as well because of ongoing construction. And a lot of things are faulty. I was glad at that time that I had carried my own cup, green tea and cutlery as what they had there was so bad. All so old and didn’t look clean. The hot water kettle as well. I don’t even use it. I just drank water that I had also carried. I tend to carry my own stuff especially when booking an apartment or Airbnb. The shower was faulty( no hot water) and it during the cold season. I also had carried my own towel which I never got to use. There were lots of young people by the pool drinking and were loud and I guess some were staying there and had invited their friends as I saw some leaving before the curfew while the rest remained.

Nairobi's best kept secret can now be revealed. Kahama Hotel Nairobi next to the Globe roundabout is Nairobi's answer to a 2-star hotel with the comforts of a 3-star Hotel.
In terms of the rooms, the rooms are good, clean and average. In terms of wifi it’s very poor and disappointing. You can’t have a room in the far corners otherwise the signal will be very poor and it’s sad especially if you are spending 4,000 Kenya shillings (£25) per night, you would at least expect ALL rooms to have great signal and for there to be more wifi. They have the money and facility but seem to be very limited to certain rooms. My little cousin accidentally spilled a drink by mistake, and they had the audacity to charge us for the glass break which is outrageous and goes against basic human rights. Wifi needs to be improved, how can you just have good wifi for certain rooms but not all especially when you’re spending so much money which clearly doesn’t get invested back into the business. And charging your loyal customers for such little things especially when we come every year is damn right unfair and unacceptable. No customer should be complaining or having trouble when staying in a hotel that claims to be one of the best in the country and goes against their word and moral standards. I expect improvement and a more enjoyable experience for myself and other customers that wish to stay here.

A wonderful oasis in the Karen area away from the bustling Nairobi business district. Very cozy cottages with more than ok standards. Super service minded staff will look out for your needs. Joseph is the go to guy, serving both restaurant and pool bar. The only set back was overpriced transportation if you ask the hotel reception. Better to go Uber or booking.

Khweza Bed and Breakfast Nairobi offers high quality affordable accommodation minutes away from the Nairobi city centre (approx 1 km). Our rooms are warm and welcoming, have distinctive African decor with the privacy of a hotel and the warmth of home. Khweza Bed and Breakfast Nairobi, is a rewarding lodging alternative, ideal for business travelers, families and leisure travelers. Amenities include: hot instant showers, TV, wireless internet access and a rooftop bar and restaurant offering a variety of African dishes with a magnificent panoramic view of the Nairobi city skyline. We also offer airport transfers and tours and safaris to different parks in the country.
I travelled solo in Kenya for two+ months with multiple stops in Nairobi in between adventures outside of the city. Every time I came back I wanted to come back to my Khweza. I must have stayed here at least 7 times for 2-5 nights at a time. The rooms are simple and nice and basically all you need for budget travelling. The included breakfast was always really nice and they offered cleaning service for my clothes for a fair price. But the MAIN thing is the lovely staff who were always helpful, always smiling and so much joy and good vibes. So I knew I could always have a good time only by having conversations with the wonderful staff. There also were many young energetic travellers coming and going + fun Nairobi locals I met who came there for a dinner or the bar. The location is good for experience of real Nairobi and very easy to get ubers from the front door. The price is very good in my opinium for the room + breakfast so I highly recommend this place for adventure travellers and would always come here if travelling to Nairobi again!

Amani Gardens Inn, formerly the Mennonite Guest House has a 50-year reputation of warm hospitality and quiet gardens. Located in Westlands, our guest house is situated conveniently close to major shopping malls, banking centers, and restaurants, yet the place still retains the feel of a retreat in the countryside with our old English-style buildings and ancient trees. You can spend the morning quietly reading under a 100-year old jacaranda tree, or hop in a taxi and be exploring down town a few minutes later. Amani means peace in Swahili which is a distinctive of the Mennonites. We hope you will find our gardens a peaceful oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Amani means peace in Kiswahili. Spacious gardens, friendly staff, and traditional American food bring our guests back again and again. Amani Gardens is under the Mennonite Board of East Africa.
This hotel was extremely filthy. There were mud hand marks on the walls. The phone didn’t plug it in anywhere and was unusable as was the in room safe. The shower was unusable as there are wires hanging out with smoke stains. The doors do not shut completely so your room is filled with mosquitoes at night so you need to use the net that has never been washed. No refrigerator -no drinkable water. This used to be a missionary home which did not allow alcohol or smoking. This is no longer the case. They also run a daycare there during the daytime and basketball games at night making it a very noisy stay.We were supposed to stay four nights but instead had to leave after two nights. We were overcharged we were told $80 a night and we’re charged $120 per night. We transferred to the Doubletree Hilton which was cheaper at $100 a night. It was impeccably clean -had a refrigerator ,a safe ,in room drinking water and an amazing breakfast buffet every morning.

The Receptionists and their care of guests warrant 5 stars any day. However... the ambience of the place is depressing and dull. The decor—although in very good condition—uses dull and dark colours and the lighting is very muted as well. The garden is like any average Karen-suburban garden which doesn't employ a gardener on a regular basis. Apart from in front of the house where they are a few older trees shading a seating area, the rest of the garden is totally uninteresting with no flowering plants or shrubs at all or any thought to its design. The swimming pool is small, kept nice and clean but is more of a plunge pool that a swimming pool. Bedrooms are roomy with a door opening on to a narrow verandah but unfortunately the views they look on to are some unkempt back gardens of the neighbouring properties. The food was fresh and well cooked but unexciting. Often food was not piping hot when delivered to the table and the same applied to the hot water & milk for tea and coffee. A bit of a disappointment after the good reviews we had read...but the receptionists—great, every concern dealt with efficiently and in a friendly way.

My boyfriend and I stayed in "Lion" hut here for a couple of nights between other trips. It was so peaceful and beautiful we mostly just stayed in the compound, having drinks on our patio overlooking Nairobi national park and basking in the quiet so close to the hecticness of central Nairobi. The staff were amazing and helped us with all our questions including sorting laundry (free!) and we went for a lovely evening walk in the lane outside the hotel, which runs alongside the national park (even saw a gazelle grazing by the path!). The only downside was nothing to do with the property - we ordered in food from a restaurant nearby which delivers for free and twice got slight food poisoning so I question the hygiene standards! - I'd recommend going to the nearby Masai lodge instead which had great food!

Room was lovely though the staff /hotel don't tell you how to use things - stove, internet, locker, etc. Location of hotel though great in some ways is quite cut off from shops or restuarants or even finding a newspaper. Restaurant made delicious food, but had to be chased to get the breakfast buffet ready every morning and that took a lot of time and energy. Room service , restuarant service or other responsiveness ( eg help in getting an airport shuttle into town from airport on arrival) was very slow and this was despite there being hardly any guests on the premises. As one of the few room guests, I was surprised that the only event they had - a pretty nice music event on Friday nite , was not informed to me , but i discovered it accidentally. Staff don't seem to be supervised closely . Never saw a Manager around and even when I spoke of staying back in Nairobi for a few more days, and extending my stay, they showed least interest in trying to get my business. Pretty strange.
