Disappointing!
Reviewed By Manuela SThe service was pretty bad. Even though the infrastructure is beautiful, I can't recall another hotel I've stayed with such a lack of professionalism at dealing with clients. For instance, They made us pay extra taxes cause they weren't properly following the procedure for foreigners' tax exception which reveals lack of hotel management training. Also, there is no WiFi in the rooms even though it's one of the most expensive hotels in Mompos. Their argument is because the walls are "thick", they don't seem to be willing to improve the network. Some positive points were the swimming pool, the breakfast and some friendly staff like Belkis. But overall we were disappointed of the service and after staying one night there, we preferred changing to another hotel that was much better and half the price.

Reviewed By Tanya GWe stayed here for two nights and it had exactly what we needed - a clean room, comfy bed, clean bathroom and mostly importantly in Mompos, air conditioning! We enjoyed breakfast in the morning, its basic but very nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Casa de Espana is located in downtown's Mompox. It is near to main places of the "Land of God" that you would pobably like to know. For instance, the well-known Churches of Santa Barbara and San Agustin are close to the hotel. We have 16 confortable rooms equiped with air conditioner, TV, Internet access and a power generator. At the hotel you will have the chance to buy snacks and drinks if you would like to. We also offer you a special area for events.
Not a value for money at the jazz festival
Reviewed By Camilo PHotel owner Matilde Torres extorted us. We booked 6 months before for an agreed price. Fifteen days before, she raised 70% the total price per room. We could do nothing. We had to pay before getting to the hotel, otherwise she threatened us to cancel and refund the original 50% given before. Room was fair, but bathroom was completely dirty and dingy. Water pressure in the shower was annoying. Staff was nice but they need a boss to look for their dutties and services the way to be performed in the hotel business.

In a not so nicely refurbished colonial house you can find a comfortable place in which the real difference is how the hosts make you feel at home. They are aware of all your needs and they do their best so you can enjoy your stay. It’s like being in a typical “momposina” family house in which you are a guest not a customer. The prefect complement for you travel adventure to the magical Mompox.

Quiet place with a lovely garden, centrally located.
Reviewed By Kirsi UI stayed here three nights. Very nice budget hotel. I got a double with a bathroom for 50,000. Much cheaper than anything on booking. Room is clean, air conditioning cold. It has a nice garden and the walls are thick so downstairs is always cool. It is two blocks from the river, which is great. You don't hear the blasting music on the river. The staff is very friendly. Pet friendly and there is parking a little bit away, but included. They gave me great advice on where to eat.
