Mauritius is arguably Africa’s wealthiest destination, a tropical paradise with tons to do. Port Louis, the modern capital of this 38-mile by 29-mile island, is a bustling port with a revitalized waterfront and a busy market. But most visitors gravitate toward resort areas such as Mont Choisy, quiet Trou-aux-Biches and the more bustling Flic en Flac, popular with scuba divers. Rivière Noire is ideal for those looking for great deep-sea fishing.

This little hotel on a beautiful coral beach was so good we came back 3 times on our visit to this wonderful island.Dennis the manager and his staff were so happy nothing was too much trouble and just made our trip so special. We attended a business event at a large hotel which was great but lacked the feeling of being made welcome on a personal basis. Our trip was to visit other parts of the island but we came back to this little hotel every time where the chef asks you what you would like that day and he and his staff prepare it .Just a brilliant place for nice people!!!!

We are based on the east coast of Mauritius in a small village called 'Deux Freres' on the bank of Grand River South East, the longest river of Mauritius. The lodge is ideally located at canoeing distance halfway between the waterfall and the crystal lagoon of ile aux cerfs. At Otentic, we try to give a truly Mauritian experience to our guests. Our friendly staff, who all live nearby the lodge, will make sure that you discover their region, the east coast of Mauritius, probably the most beautiful coast of the island. Simplicity and conviviality are two key values for us. Our objective is to share with our guests the Mauritian way of life, our culinary habits, our diverse communities, traditions and religious beliefs while enhancing the natural environment and improving the livelihood of surrounding communities.
The owner had a racist behaviour and discriminated between Mauritian and white Mauritian. His attitude was cold and he used high tone. Please be careful before you book. He used a high tone and ousted us.

Enjoy the delights of a beachfront holiday and discover the Mauritian rhythm of life. We are located on the west coast, famous for its romantic sunsets and all-year round sunshine. The ambient harmony of our exclusive guest house is ideal for those in search of authenticity & conviviality. Our team knows how to make you feel home away from home and provide you with the personalised service you are looking for. The Bay's perfect location will give you access to a large choice of activities and renowned Mauritian cultural sites.
The Bay is a lovely little hotel right on the beach. Our room was a great size with a small balcony area. Next time we’d go for one of the beach facing rooms. The hotel is spotlessly clean and has a lovely laid back vibe. The food was fine but nothing fancy, you’d come for the view and friendly staff as opposed to the cuisine. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Mauritius.

3 wonderful weeks in top floor suite. If you dont like large hotels Le Mandala is fantastic - position, comfort, excellent team, cleanliness. Anja the owner arranged transport from the airport and we had trips with Keetan the taxi driver throughout our stay. Pictures on the website are a true representation of the accommodation and grounds. The title of the review is a quote from a guest and sums up this little gem ! -

We've booked full day Tamarind falls hike with Prakash after reading a lot of good reviews about him. And it was an amazing day! We started with a bigger group for the first falls and after this continued all the way with Prakash, who is a very nice man that showed us amazing views along the way. The hike was a little hard in some points and we would have not been able to finish all the trail without Prakash. The lunch he brought was very tasty and his company along the way very nice. He has a beautiful family and he is a very welcoming man. This was for sure the best experience in Mauritius!

Been to this place and i cant decide how i feel about this place What i liked: Cosy and quiet place Nice and clean rooms Overall good and tasty food Restaurant manager - Prakash who was really nice and provided excellent service What i disliked: No one greets you at the hotel entrance and escort you to your room when you come for the 1st time...as if you are expected to know the whereabouts of the hotel. There is nobody to help you carry bags to your room The overall inability of the receptionist to clearly speak in the language you are speaking to her The overall rudeness of the staff and lack of finesse when approaching and taking to clients Lack of finesse when taking plates off your table Staff having no clue what room number you are in and proposing you things that are not in your package Staffs clearly having no training at all on how to welcome, interact and treat guests Staffs looking at you with blank faces when coming to the restaurant with no explanation whatsoever of the menu or the seating place staffs forgetting about my dessert and having to remind them after 30 minutes of waiting... A beef burger which was uncooked What i believe us UNACCEPTABLE: Sticking an invoice to my room's door for an unpaid drink which i have supposedly consumed... Which after query was a mistake at their end...these types of mistakes should have been picked up way before coming to my door... And stiking unpaid invoices to people's door is not what i would call acceptable for a hotel

Set on a breathtaking lagoon, Chantauvent is a charming guesthouse situated in Pointe d'Esny, near Mahebourg, on the South East coast of Mauritius. Mahebourg is a colorful and lively town, steeped in Mauritian history. Fisherman and shopkeepers ply the streets, adding to the rich and dynamic atmosphere of this coastal treasure.Dark volcanic rock makes for a stark contrast to the bright white coral sand on the long and open beaches of Pointe d'Esny.
Chant Au Vent has very good affordable rooms with a more than helpful host. I was not expecting much for the money but was pleasantly surprised. I'll go back. The check-in staff, Christiane is super nice and helpful. Perfect for a short stay. It’s a good location and size. Great value for money. Air-conditioning is a plus. Internet access wasnt available in room, one had to sat outside in the balcony. Over All it’s a safe place, the proprety is under Surveillance cameras. Good for family, couples And stay with friends.
