Le bucca di Gandria, is a sweet family run Italian restaurant and b&b. The owner was so helpful and helped me for a wedding we were attending, by going out of her way and bringing me a steam iron. The room is clean with stunning views of the lake and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. Shared toilet was clean and the communal kitchen had plenty of supplies of tea and coffee and snacks. The restaurant is not your typical Italian but with refined food. A great find and very quaint!

Hotel Gabbani, a unique Design Hotel in the heart of old town Lugano, opened its doors for the first time in 2012. A symbiosis between culinary and architecture is reflected in its geometry, spaciousness and furnishings, creating a tranquil, yet invigorating atmosphere. Domenico and Francesco Gabbani developed the concept for the hotel together with the Ticinese architect Sven Panzera , drawing inspiration from the colours and contours of fine food and drink. Here the present meets the past, with hotel rooms surrounding a medieval courtyard containing beautiful open arcades, part of the former convent. The central patio that hosts our fine food shops and bar on the ground floor has a delicatessen offering a wide range of specialities as well as a restaurant for gourmet delights on the first and ground floor. A fine buffet breakfast is served on the first floor, with delicious products from Ticino, with sausages, cheese, fruit and oven-fresh bread and croissants.
Located at the center of city with coffees and shops, 2-3 Min. from promenade with artistic design, very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Bedrooms are not large but very nice and clean. The breakfast was 20. Sfr. per person and the parking 25.Sfr. per day at near by garage. Highly recommended.

This hotel does not have reception desk, as complained by other customers in TripAdvisor. If your mobile does not have international roaming, you will not be allowed to check in, as you need to receive a code after you arrive. Likewise even after you are check in, if the battery of your mobile is dead, you can’t take the elevator to get in! You will sleep in the street!! I’ve made a prepaid reservation in this hotel and got very disappointed with its location and attention received by phone from Mr Francesco - very rude!! Room was clean but very dark! There is not even breakfast to be offered. If you need to park your car, be prepared to walk a lot from the neared parking station! Finally, I always have agreed with the no show police ( it is fear for the hotel)but if you arrive in the hotel and you are not satisfied, you have the right to cancel the reservation, which was not possible.

- The hotel is situated in a quiet part of Lugano. - It is not much of a hotel as the rooms are situated in an apartment-like arrangement, as if you are entering a house with different rooms. However, the Superior Double room was nice, well-cleaned, and good enough space and privacy. - The staff were not always available in the reception; however, they were very kind and helpful when contacted. Toiletries could be improved for showering essentials. - Overall, if you are planning to spend most of your day outdoors/moving around, then this hotel is a good option with a low price in comparison to others.

Never imagined such a small home rental/family owned hotel business would be that beautiful. The hotel is located on the top of Mounte Bre which is considered the sunniest spot in Switzerland. The hotels room was spacious n ideal for our family of 4. The breakfast was made with love n had the freshest items that were so tasty n was served in their cozy restaurant. If you are renting a car then this hotel is the ideal spot for you. It’s around 22 minutes from the city center. We are definitely coming back

I am very pleased by my 1-night stay, this is a very nice hotel, all clean, the bed is very (!) comfortable, the stuff is really friendly and of cause, speaks good English. That was an emergency stay for me, cause my friends flat didn’t have a heating, so we stayed overnight here, and we checked in after 19.00 and that was possible! The view from a balcony is stunning! In Italy just across the border prices are much higher. If you want to explore Lugano, this is your choice!

The restaurant is located in the historic center of Gandria, overlooking the Ceresio lake. From the internal terrace you can enjoy a spectacular view of the landscape in which the village is located, one of the ten most beautiful in Switzerland (L'Hebdo, 2006). To reach the building you need to walk a short distance through the suggestive paths of the village.
Worst experience I have ever had in my life. I have been travelling all around the World either business or private trips. I really don't understand hotel response to my sister's comment. Of course, we share your behavior in public. Misunderstanding can be understandable, if the hotel acts ethic. But after booking the rooms and receiving CONFIRMATION by email, I sent two separate emails to ask get some feedback breakfast and area and you didn't even inform us that room was booked before reaching your hotel. You had chance but you chose not to inform us and waited us to reach at hotel. This is your response "your booking arrived shortly after the one made via booking.com by another customer" If you receive our booking, please let us know why you didn't inform us? What is your excuse? You are mean, when I asked the owner/chef why he is not apologizing double booking and expressing him that this is our first vacation after our marriage he offered us to leave the hotel if we want. When I told the owner that we booked a room with lake view and he offered us a room without window, he also said "If I have two option one room with private bathroom one without, I will choose the room with private bathroom." My wife shivered from the cold ALL NIGHT. Your approach looks like this example: somebody come to your restaurant an order Risotto and you give Lasagna and saying that I prefer/love Lasagna. But he doesn't order Lasagna, he order Risotto. In my case, I booked a room with lake view and I don't care if you prefer a room with private bathroom. If I booked a room with private room, you obviously say "Sir there is a misunderstanding, we have to change your room but we will give you same conditions" This is like comparing apple vs peach. Like my sister wrote we are all human and we can make mistakes, it is normal. The unusual thing is your behavior and it still continue. You need to apologize and try to have an alignment at least. You don't have any idea customer relationship management. It was strange to see a person who fails but can’t even apologize. I will not stoop to your level because you really don't know human relationship. We really like to try restaurant but due to owner/chef's behavior, we skipped it. If you interest to enjoy Lake Lugano, I don’t recommend this place because of the humiliating attitude. Don’t take that high risk, don't waste your valuable time to stay in here.
