We are a Greece type building hostels, occupy ground 700 pings, There is total of 13 only 2, 4, 6 people's building,Hostel outside both sides each the big arbor with a Greece type, Another have laundry , living room, and tea to be provided for guest to use. Facing the huge scenery is our biggest advantage, It is a beautiful hostel.
Sanasai Inn is a good basic backpacker accommodation option on Green Island. Yes, if is outdated, but if weather is good, you’re not in the room much. Pros: - View of Taitung, the ocean and sunset literally outside - Staff speaks good English. Not everyone speaks it but most do - Located outside of the Main Street so there is no loud evening noise or traffic outside - Bed mattress is thin but pretty comfortable and the bed units are so tall, you can stand in them, and offer good privacy - Air con comes in to the beds through a vent, awesome! - Plenty of showers - Electric scooters are available for rent. Fair price. And they are new and very easy to ride. Really enjoyed them - They will pick you up and drop you off for the ferry Items to be aware of: - It is not near the Main Street so without a car or scooter, it’s about a 20 min walk - The entire lodging is run down. It needs major updates. It’s not uncomfortable or unclean, but old. Especially the kitchen and bathrooms. For the cost, I wish it was a tad nicer - Only one western toilet, so that is always taken - Breakfast is toast and spreads and coffee. None are great. But if you don’t want to walk in to town, that’s an option - WiFi doesn’t have an official network and it seemed a little shady to use. But if you need it, it’s available - The dorms are right by the lobby and reception so it gets LOUD. Reception opens at 8am but it gets loud starting at 6-7am. Not great - Rooms are small, especially the four bed female dorm. There is no real luggage storage and gets very crowded quickly if it’s full Considering this is a beach place, none of these were major dealbreakers for me, especially with the rise in domestic tourism due to Covid. If you’re looking for a place and this has an opening, it’s not a bad option, but just go in eyes wide open. For a night or two, it’s not bad. But if weather is bad, I probably wouldn’t want to hang out here for a prolonged period of time.

We stayed here for one night. Our Hualien hotel kindly phoned ahead to request a pick-up from the ferry, which worked very smoothly. We were able to then drop off our bags & freshen up , & then rent an e-scooter from the hotel to circumnavigate the island. The host (Tien) was very kind and helpful & conveyed a lot of information to us in English, which we appreciated. The room is just lovely - extremely clean, soft comfy bed with everything we needed for our stay. Can make hot drinks in the kitchen & go upstairs for an amazing view- hence the name of the B & B. We got given vouchers to go a few minutes walk to a lovely breakfast spot - nice eggs & mushrooms, ham & bread. No wifi at the hotel. The only downside was that it was very noisy from the family of the hotel ( or possibly other guests, although we thought we were the only ones there) with loud talking and what sounded like banging into the late evening, as our room opened out into the ground floor main lobby where there was a big screen TV. Once everyone seemed to have gone to bed it was very quiet! It would probably have been a quieter stay in one of the rooms upstairs. We got driven to the ferry in the morning - the pick up and drop offs were all included in the room rate- no extra charge. Would recommend this as a place to stay in Green Island as is a nice location. Close to walk to the Human Rights Park & along the waterfront area.

We stayed 2 nights here and it was perfect. The 5-person room has individually partitioned beds making it perfect for a family with kids (especially if they sleep and wake at different times). Plus, it's on the ground floor, so no lugging suitcases around. Location is very convenient. They do pickups/drop offs at the airport, and it's directly opposite the ferry port - so that doesn't get any closer. Breakfast was included and while not extensive and fancy, it had everything we needed, including fresh ground coffee and home-made iced milk tea. Traditional Taiwanese rice porridge for the locals, and toast eggs ham for the non-locals. The entrance is a dive shop that offered snorkeling and scuba. There's something to be said about the ease of going from your room, to the front desk, scheduling everything, and then going back to the room to get ready. And also, when you're done, just rinsing off and walking straight into your room. No need to worry about photos: for all their activities, they include a photographer. They also had scooter rentals. We didn't have licenses, so we had to rent electric ones which were pricier than the gas ones. Still, scooters are a must to get around the island. Conveniently, whenever we came back to the hotel, they offered us fully-charged scooters to swap out our used ones. Our friends chose a 'boutique' hotel on the north side of the island, but we were glad we stayed here instead. It was closer to the city so we could get dinner easily (and 7-11). While our hotel may not have been as fancy, it was clean and functional: walkable to the snorkeling sites and, the rooms were designed for people who have been at the beach (e.g. bathroom close to the entrance, balconies to dry out swimsuits). Overall, very happy. Will stay again. One tip: Green Island generally runs on cash, and there's only one ATM at the post office, which we were told can run out of cash.

Mr. Zhang's assistant picked us up right from the harbour with his green sign and in a few minutes we were at the homestay. It is conveniently located on the edge of the restaurant and shopping areas. We walked as far as the airport from his house, about 20 minutes. 7-11 is slightly closer, and saved us as we were short on cash and it was the only place in town which accepted credit cards. We ate often at the breakfast place a few doors north of the homestay, even though the staff was surly and unfriendly. Mr. Zhang provided us with $200NT for breakfast each morning, and for our family of four, $250NT covered our full breakfast of two meat buns each and soy milk. We were also within 950m of the famous Shilang snorkelling beach, just south of the harbour. We walked there twice. So although the homestay was further from the centre of Nanliao Village, it was closer to the harbour and the most popular snorkelling area. The room was clean and bright. There is some nice artwork on the walls and the room is as nice as the pictures indicated. We stayed on the second floor with a view of the ocean. The beds were firm. The air conditioning was great, and the water pressure was also great. You do need to wait a while for the water to get hot. I also recommend that you keep the drain hole for the shower covered to keep the bathroom smelling fresh. It is a wet style bathroom, which means there are no curtains around the shower area. The towels provided with the room are disposable ones. This seems to be the standard for Green Island. Hot, cold, and warm water are available from a dispenser on the first floor, so you can bring your own reusable container and avoid using bottled water. Mr. Zhang was the best part of the homestay. He is always ready and willing to help, and he is eager to provide knowledge of the area. He knew the bus we intended to take after our cross island hike was unreliable, so he asked us to let him know if we were having trouble with the bus. He was so kind as to pick us up when the round the island tourist bus was a no show for 47 minutes. He also took us to rent electric scooters. The going rate now appears to be 500NT for 24 hours, and 600NT if you are not represented by a homestay. We paid him instead of the scooter rental directly. We always looked forward to returning to our homestay at the end of each day.

The host of this B&B is incredibly friendly, offered us great help when we were on the island. The location is super great. The house is tidy and clean. The host family are very very friendly. Love here. You would not regret!

We stay in this guest house for two nights. Our room was on the main floor and comes with the private bathroom. The overall experience was pretty good. The guest house provides homemade breakfast cooked by owner's lovely wife. They really put their heart to take care of their guest house and the guests. Really nice. The only disadvantage of this guest house is that the soundproof on the main floor was a little but not that good. I can still remember to hear people next doors was talking to each other and taking a shower. *The one thing I will totally recommend is that there is a coral reef lagoon not far from the guest house. It's only about an easy 10 to 15 minutes walk (Doesn't need a scooter at all). The lagoon is right next to the Lüdao lighthouse, perfect for a sunbath or just simply chill out by the lagoon, and if you with children they can play in it because the deepest part of this lagoon is only about 140cm. Take a swim ring and you can enjoy the sun and the water.
