The only international standard hotel in Khovd.
The hotel is nice. Nothing fantastic, yet better than one could expect in Hovd, especially in comparison with the "Hotel Hovd", which is the biggest and historically the best one. My only serious complain is bedding and towels: the materials felt as a sort of chemical fiber. Otherwise the room was good, the restaurant was good as well, and they also have a roof top terrace with a bar

When I checked the room I found it OK to stay in and asked if they had running hot water which was confirmed. Never happened!!! I had to through google translate insist on hot water every morning and it would take almost 2 hrs for it to happen. There one one gentle man who was always helpful when I found him. The man or lady behind the reception would just ignore the request. And laugh it off. Very sad as so much tourism can be developed in the region but one does need basic infrastructure to make it happen. Also till you reach your room, at meal times, the whole hotel would smell of cooked meat. These hotels need to be monitored by a government agency so tourists get what they have been offered . Other than that location was nice and people in Khovd very nice

Love this hotel so much! I only spent 20bucks per night for master bedroom. They have wifi, hot shower even its winter time.(because during this time most provinces don’t have hot shower). Most importantly, they have univision so which means you can watch hbo, mtv, discovery channel etc,. Very affordable price, nice spot and great service! I will highly recommend this hotel

Western Mongolia is so remote that Tripadvisor does not seem to have a record of this fairly new hotel and won't allow me to post it under the Minj hotel so I am posting it under what keeps popping up i.e. the Well hotel which I did not see. So with regard to the MINJ hotel, which is about a year old and appears to be the best hotel in Khovd at the moment: The shower does not have any sides to it so the whole bathroom floor gets wet but that seems par for the course in the Khovd-Ulgii area and otherwise the spacious rooms and spacious bathroom are quite decent. The rooms are clean. It is pretty noisy so bring earplugs if that bothers you. Dinner at the hotel was also fine but the breakfast was problematic. They do not open the dining room but rather bring it to your room and it consists of one plate of stale white bread, a boiled egg, a few thin slices of fatty salami of some sort and a few slices of cucumber. Our guide had asked what we wanted for breakfast and we said we’d like cheese but the hotel said they didn’t have any although it had been in our salad at dinnertime. There was no coffee available so we later bought a small container of coffee at the nearby supermarket. Bring your own toilet paper as theirs is difficult to tear and shreds.
