The Anthemion House is a charming boutique concept in tourist accommodation in Kavala. It is a restored three-store neo-classical building, situated right next to the iconic landmark of Aqueduct - one of the town’s main historical sites. Built in 1927, it features large windows and doors and is distinguished by the delicately worked abstract friezes of anthemion (flower) patterns above the lintels. It has been meticulously restored, respecting its original features and character- offering 4 fully equipped apartments, plus 2 double rooms and one studio. The Anthemion House is offering typical endearing levels of Greek hospitality by experienced welcoming staff. Breakfast included in the rates, with emphasis on locally sourced products and Greek culinary culture. The Anthemion House is centrally located, in close proximity to the city centre (350m). Private car parking, bicycles, and a fitness room are complimentary. The House’s reception is open 14 hours a day (8am – 10pm).
My wife and I stayed 2 nights, arriving before 3 PM and parking in their designated lot (Kolokotroni 17) and walking 40 m down the 1 way street to the hotel. The nice English speaking receptionist provided fresh OJ as she explained details of the hotel and described city sights on a map, before carrying our bags to our 2nd floor room. Wood floored room # 2 opened to a comfortable queen with stool nightstands, desk with stool, large refer, hot pot, Krups coffee and nice TV with excellent reception of many international channels (spotty BBC & some shows on EPT, Next & Star-all in English). A nice closet was across the outfitted bathroom with 20 second hot water and a cubicle shower. Windows opened to the exterior stairs. The secure room WIFI was excellent, 3 room outlets, nice lighting and a wall control for the central AC/heat. Both the 2nd and 3rd floors had a small common room with chairs and a balcony overlooking the street (table & chairs) with views to the fortress. I used the nice 3 station gym on the 3rd floor. The 8 AM breakfast served in the lobby dining area was excellent; OJ, yogurt/breads with jam, hard boiled egg, feta roll, chocolate croissant, fruits and free use of a coffee machine. This is a clean, quiet, friendly staffed hotel, renovated in 2018. Its 7 rooms provide a quality stay located just above the aqueduct 400 m from the port.

Villa Nickolas is a family business hotel with rooms and studios which is located in Palio. Our hotel offers a special family atmosphere and it is an ideal place for restful holidays in an extremely tranquil, cozy and friendly environment. Its location is ideal for summer holidays because it is close to the sea and to the most beautiful beaches of the area.
Great room, excellent breakfast and authentic Greece atmosphere in here. I really like it. The hotel staff always there for you and help you. Very close to the see you can walk in a minute. And close enough to the city century. You can stay in here safely.

In the heart of Kavala, between old Panagia District and Eleftherias central square, lies the Guest House Old Town Inn with its distinctive colour. An old 19th century building, which operated from the very beginning as a hotel, renovated with care and respect from the current owners and maintained the neoclassical features that characterize a modern and warm environment. Surrounded by Agios Nikolaos traditional district alleys, with a view of the Panagia castle and the historical Kamares (The Old Aqueduct) Old Town Inn offers 10 comfortable rooms that provide you with everything you need for a relaxing and memorable stay in Kavala.
We visited this hotel, a renovated neoclassical building and were amazed by its ambience, the friendly people running it and the quality of the in-room amenities that rendered our staying in an unforgettable experience.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel : - Good points : nice central situation - nice people but who offered very little help ; - Upon arrival, the room wasn't clean, with women's hair (we're boys) and dead bugs (see photos) ; - We expected the cleaning to be done the following day (we stayed for two days) but another person at the reception desk explained to us that due to COVID measures, the cleaning couldn't be done. Which was probably quite inaccurate since we’d spent the previous ten days in hotels in Thessaloniki, Kastoria & Thassos, and since the cleaning has been done every day there....The following morning, another person at the reception told us that the cleaning couldn't be done when guests were inside the room. But we’d not been in our room from 9am to 7pm...; - The automatic lightning system in the corridors seems to malfunction, hence blaring the corners of the main door of the room every five minute during the whole night ; - insonorisation is inexistant, you can hear your neighbours charmingly use the toilets :) ; - Room 304 looks onto a common yard, you can’t open the window unless you want everyone to see you ; - Last but not least, we both had to shower with cold water the last morning. A person explained to us that it was probably the effect of bad weather on the solar heating system... In a nutshell, we couldn't sleep nor clean ourselves properly which basically seems to be the main purpose of staying at a hotel. Our expectations were not met by those poor conditions which were not the ones we signed and paid for. Therefore, we expected a proportional compensation. We were offered a free night if we returned at this hotel. Of course, we won’t. No explanations were given to us about the misforntunes we encountered....

The Amina Hanem Boutique Apartments is the right choice for visitors who are searching for a combination of charm and a convenient position from where to explore surroundings. The rooms are arranged on the first, second and third floors. On the first floor, there is also a charming yard available for the use of guests, from where you can enjoy the view.

The apartment was perfect and the hosts too. I recommend it even for long vacations. It's 15 min from the centre of Kavala and close to she central beach. Prepare for high climbs and steps from the centre to the apartment.

Hotel Akropolis is a 2 star hotel in the center of Kavala, located in front of the Port. It offers FREE WiFi throughout the hotel and it is also known as one of the few pet-friendly hotels in Kavala. All our rooms are equipped with TV, air-conditioning, coffee machine, private bathroom and we offer slippers and free toiletries as well in the extra amenities in the rooms. A 24-hours reception is available to cover all your needs while being here.
Arrived at Kavala, decided to try the town side on our trip back to Turkey instead of the delightfully old Kavala fishing harbour just a quick trip around the headland by car, after our 7 weeks exploring Europe. Hotel Acropolis is hidden between shops and offices but has a character all of its own. Athena is a sweet lady owner who makes you welcome with her cheeky smile. The rooms are in need of updating, and the box like shower area tucked in the corner is quickly turned into a wet room ! however the view from our balcony was a sight for sore eyes. Luckily we had our own supply of tea/coffee etc.. and it’s plastic cups came in handy as there is nothing to offer guests on arrival. We had just a one nights stay which was perfect but would not recommend a longer stay. Parking is free everywhere and the hotel couldn’t be closer to everything. Just needs updating
