Though Salina’s rocky beaches nod to its volcanic composition, today the island is as tranquil as can be. Think olive farms, think caper bushes, think storybook trees heavy with plump figs and citrus fruits. Salina is a place for your taste buds to swoon over nature’s sweetest and saltiest bounties. Cap each meal with a sip of the islands signature Malvasia dessert wine. When your belly needs a break, explore Salina’s stone lanes, pebble beaches, and the twin volcanos, dormant for 13,000 years.

The guesthouse offers 10 rooms finely furnished in Aeolian style, with mini bar, air conditioning and TV on request.
The La Locanda del Postino hotel is a true gem in Pollara, a remote and extremely beautiful part of Salina and Sicily. Our 4 night stay was so relaxing. It’s a very quiet place except the constant sound of birds chirping at each other and, in the evening, the happy chatting of people congregating in the little garden to enjoy a cocktail and the perfect sunset (some of the best we’ve ever seen, and Pollara is the only spot on the island you can see it). The restaurant is very nice, the dishes and ingredients are all local and presented beautifully. We ate here twice during our stay, and enjoyed stuffed anchovies, swordfish, red tuna, and scorpion fish; plus tiramisu and pistachio pannacota, among other dishes and beautiful wine. Make sure you also try Francesco’s special Aperol Spritz (with a Malvasia twist) and homemade limoncello. In the evenings, we made a new habit of enjoying some Malvasia wine on our balcony and playing cards while watching the stars. Our room was very comfortable and airy, with a little tv and fridge, and a window with a lovely sea view. In the mornings, we had traditional Sicilian breakfasts: homemade cakes, biscuits, croissants, fruit, and good coffee. Overall, Francesco and his family have created a wonderful little spot in the world where you can come to relax, enjoy nature and good food. Perfect for any creatives looking for inspiration. They really care about their island and their guests and this makes for a memorable stay, or dinner - whichever you treat yourself to!

We were welcomed by what appeared to be an over enthusiast host who was superficially helpful but essentially never at the reception when needed. The rooms were pleasant with a certain rustic charm. Good standard of cleanliness. Breakfast was adequate. The lady who served the breakfast was pleasant but very preoccupied with her smoking. I felt this was slightly unprofessional as surely she could have postponed her smoking for after the breakfast. B&b is at a good location well sited for catching public transport. Also lovely resident cat who kept us company. Overall although the hosts seemed pleasant they did not come across as genuine and it seemed almost painful at times for them to be nice. We appreciate their efforts!

Enjoyed every minute of our stay at Le Sette Perle. The B&B is centrally located in Malfa, close to all amenities, with a Conad supermarket just round the corner. Upon arrival and throughout our stay, we were hosted with a warm smile by Chiara, who answered all our questions, showed us around and directed us to ‘must visits’ on the island. The rooms are comfortable, and modern, with the only negative, the low wifi connection. Limited views from the room & terrace also complemented our start to every morning I reccommend this b&b to all. Grazie Chiara!

Enchanting bay of Punta Barone rent furnished rooms situated in "La Goulette" to ten meters from the sea and five minutes from the center of Santa Marina Salina. The Structure "La Goulette" recently transformed and modernized, was an ancient place of shelter of "Gullet", sailing boats that were used for trade in wine and capers Aeolians in the early '800. It has four bedrooms, two on the ground floor served by large terrace and two on the first floor overlooking the sea. Description "La Goulette" We have 2 rooms "standard" on the ground floor served by a large terrace accessible via a ramp that allows access to persons with disabilities; Upstairs we have 2 rooms of "superior" with balconies offering spectacular sea views over islands of Stromboli and Panarea. The structure of "La Goulette" is served by large garden with sun loungers and is 10 meters from the sea, 10 minutes from the port and 5 minutes from the town center. The rooms are furnished in a double (double), air conditioned with private bathroom, all decorated with majolica Aeolian.
La Goletta di Salina is in front of the sea at the end of the village Santa Marina. The room was big and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also big and very clean. The breakfast was simple but good enough. The wifi should be better.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. The employees are rude and the rooms are uncomfortable. This is the worst quality/price hotel that we had during our trip in Sicily. If you have no choice but to stay in this hotel, do not book a boat tour with them. They will try to sell you extras and steal your money.

As you wander around the historical centre of Santa Marina, along the main road, you cannot help but notice the fully renovated and charmingly restored I Cinque Balconi Hotel as it rises up before you. Its slightly retro atmosphere and splendid position make it a truly evocative place. Upon entering the magnificent front door one feels a peaceful sensation of a time "Past". Your eyes alight on the antique majolica tiles skillfully merged with comfort and technology. Exceptional attention and care for details, in order to create the greatest comfort possible. Pamper yourself amidst the restful perfumed citrus trees, enjoy the view of the Aeolian Sea.
This small hotel occupies an older property which has been maintained, decorated and furnished to the highest standard. It is situated in a quiet position on the main thoroughfare (pedestrianised at this point) about 500m from the centre of Santa Marina and the ferry landing. Breakfast, which comprised food of the highest standard, much of it home produced, was served in a delightful garden where lemon, mandarin, fig, mango and pomegranate trees grew. A deiicatessen, which doubled as a restaurant - Casa Lo Schiavo - adjoined the hotel. We were there in hot weather, when eating out of doors came naturally, but the interior of Cinque Balconi looked a cosy place to spend colder evenings too. All in all you have the recipe for a perfect place to stay, especially when you get such a warm welcome from Massimo and his staff.
